When Kevin said “cry me a river Mark“, that was the seed that bloomed into Mark‘s deal with this young entrepreneur 💯
I think the seed was when the guy told Mark it hurts him they won't be partners.
The deal ended up being a scam. I saw the update on this episode and he just took Mark's Money and went out of business. Never created the other product.

What's great about Mark is that he singlehandedly saved this entrepreneur from getting destroyed on the spot. He does this to a lot.
I dunno why, I feel like Mark really cares about people and the stuff he invests in. He offered the only because Kevin wasn't budging from the outrageous 50% offer.
at the very least he gave the guy an out on the Kevin offer. The Mark deal had a get out clause in it. However that is not to say the offer Kevin wasnt reasonable. The prototype was not even food grade, he came into the Den way too early way to early with a value Damen rightly took issue with.
I think Mark is just too rich compare to other sharks, he can play around with the change money.

The more I watch the more I just love mark. He really has a heart of gold. I love when he’s out because he knows it’s not a good business deal, and than makes an offer just to help a young entrepreneur out. Gets me everytime. This was the best moment of this man’s life. 😢

Not really. It never launched it sounds like. Perhaps it would have done better with Kevin.
Honestly it was really insightful for me to hear. i have a product in the prototype stage and am doing a crowdfund campaign. i'd also valuate my company super high because i seriously believe in the product and industry but it wouldnt be justified for my first investor. this episode made me realize the value of being humble even though u believe ur product can be great someday.

I've seen Mark do this 2-3 times when he thinks somebody decent is getting hosed. Honestly, even if the deal never went through it saved this young man from having to make such a huge decision on the spot. He can get 100K for 50% anywhere, that wasn't special.

I love Kevin and he’s my favorite shark bc he usually is the smartest with his deals in terms of being a shark but I’m glad he got his head squeezed on this one

Kevin in this episode is a clear cut representation why Mac failed back in the day before Steve jobs making it the gargantuan business back in its prime before his passing. innovation always triumphs, its just really sad they are often suppressed by greedy pockets.
