WHY Thomas Müller is the world's most underrated player | THE RAUMDEUTER

  • Thomas Müller is one of the most unique players in world football. He’s so special, they had to invent a position just for him: the Raumdeuter. He’s also one of the few footballers who’s clearly not afraid to be himself. For all his goofball antics, and his hard-to-define style of play, plenty of people forget just how good he is. But the World Cup and Champions League winner isn’t just one of modern football’s most unique attackers, he’s clearly one of its best. Is he also the most underrated out there? Tell us what you think...

White Middle European Football players are just not interesting for some reason. You have to be exotic, you need a "came from a poor country and now im here" image. If Neymar was a normal white player his market value would probably half of what hes "worth" now and if Mueller or Lewandowski would be from Argentina or Brazil they would be worth 2x more. But this shows that market value is not = skill value anymore

Müller is just Messi with less footballing, technical talent and a higher motor. He also doesn't need the ball as much as Messi. Their brain operate similar but Messi uses it in combination with his on the ball skills to make the best decisions on the ball while Müller uses it to make the best decisions off the ball. Ronaldo is similar when you think of purely scoring off the ball. In fact every world class player has exceptional positioning and spatial awareness. In my opinion that is the biggest and most important quality of a football player. If you are just a genius on the ball but nothing else you are Ben Arfa.
