What's so difficult to understand about it. It was about to get leaked. Liverpool were contacted by a media outlet because they heard that Liverpool approached agents of some managers and asked for clarification. Klopp wanted to tell the fans by himself which was the right thing to do.
When the media contacted the club, the club could have just denied it. Then come end of the season Klopp announce that he would be leaving.

Lying to players like Trent, Virgil who consider contract extensions and want to know whether Klopp will stay at the club. Grow up kid.
@@jch6722 Yes, because even though he may not have not liked lying to everyone, sometimes it’s the right thing to do so it doesn’t effect the player’s performances. When Fergie left Utd he only announced it after they had won the league. Jurgen telling everyone in January has most definitely affected the players most recent performances. They wanted to win everything for him and as soon as we lost in the cup to Utd that’s when our performances started getting worse.
@@joshgardie9051 that is pure fantasy. The media pressure and the anxiety by their own fans would have derailed Liverpool‘s season even sooner. Imagine speaking to Arne Slot‘s or Amorim‘s agent and everybody knows it, but the club denies talks. That doesn’t work in real life. Klopp gives Liverpool the chance to plan long term which they did with hiring Edwards, Hughes and Slot. Fergie was selfish and gave his club no time to plan without him. The season collapsed because the players are not good enough or it‘s their first season in the premier league. Salah was always awful after AFCON. This and all their injuries.
Why sign a new contract the year before or so to then to tell the fans and player that he’s decided to leave … he shouldn’t of signed a new contract and then maybe tell the fans he won’t be renewing and hint he’ll be leaving … bad move telling everyone he’s leaving when you were on a roll …he has derailed everyone at the club with that announcement. The arguments been coming for weeks, Salah has been a shadow of himself since his injury and Klopp has proberly said I will not be starting you anymore after Everton
It put more pressure on the squad towards the end the fact it was announced he's leaving, but if he didn't and it got leaked it wouldn't have been any better. Liverpool are falling short because the squad isn't good enough, simple as that.

Where did it all go wrong? I'll tell you where. Klopp dropping Kelleher was the most stupidest decision ever made once Alisson returned from injury! Kelleher has been outstanding in goal in Alissons absence in an undefeated Liverpool side in the EPL. Once Alisson returned we drew to Man Utd, then lost to both Crystal Palace and Everton before drawing again to West Ham!
It's a non issue and utterly irrelevant in the way the latter part of the season has unfolded.

Winter has been sucking Klopp off for years. The reality is Liverpool's win percentage has dropped massively after Klopp announced his retirement. A manager who has won only one premier league title in 9 years is considered a legendary prem manager? Get a grip Henry, he should've announced his retirement at the end of the season, it easily could've been kept a secret and he isn't a legend. Klopp is a decent manager who bottled a colossal amount titles and cups.

Klopp has lost the league twice accumulating 92 and 97 points which is ridiculous and won it with 99pts. Klopp has put his heart and soul into lfc and everytime we have taken a knock he has picked us up and dragged us forward again. He has been in charge of one of the great institutions of english football for 9 years and after the wolves game he walks out of anfield under his own terms winning every trophy u can in domestic and european football, if thats not greatness i don't know what is.
