I just helped build a web site for a local business using WordPress. It took some work. I was thinking about Wix but this video has really helped me make a decision. I don't know how or if my music business will grow but it appears that investing the extra time into learning Wordpress will ensure I can grow and have greater flexibility. thank you. Ps, I dislike wix as it seems they added the name wix in your website address. (Not 100%sure , just based on videos I watched ) but Wordpress does not have this issues.

Great video! Is there any good soul i could ask few questions about wix to Elementor pro transition?this is kiling me :) ....So, I did try to make a web page before with Elemntor, i don't remember what went wrong exactly, learning curve was little too much at the time I think. But i regularly have pages to make for projects, so I would like eventually to learn Elementor. What is stopping me is understanding few things as 1) Can i copy a section (in eix they are called stripes), save it and used in diff sites or in another way, can I combine diff parts od diff templates together? 2) why are all wp templates so tech looking at the end, or, its just me. In wix I can create really nice, artistic sites from template, here I feel i would need it to do that from scratch. And by the way, Im opening book store/coffe shop with literature and art events and need a page for it. Would also be an online store for books which will be based on categories, so each category would have their own home page actually with photos, quotations and I can create this easily in wix with galeries. 3) well, thats it…. I have to learn wix as well, but its faster I see, Im almost half done, I would have to go almost from scratch with wp (i mean, quickly i would figure out for domain and installing wp, i did edit a few wp pages, but with my experience, majority of th8ngs we wanted, wp designers could not do it. So we often solve the problem with creating amazing jpegs in canva and set them across the site. Dunno, maybe were just people we were working with. Beside there was ALWAYS something with plugins. Always and all the time. Again not sure we just had too many free ones or what...as here I would also need woocommerce, event and booking system plugin, variation for products, coupons, member registration, blog etc…really thank you to anybody to take the time to answer or share any thoughts. Actually, I would finally wanna learn wp so I can cheeper the things and make my own stuff and also for others, but as always don't know if now is the time and worth learning with all the doubts I have.

What about Wordpress Vs Shopify? Can you an unbiased review for those? Especially focusing about scaling your score and number of products, because with wordpress it gets to a point where you really need technical knowledge and budget to scale; shopify seems manageable since they are responsible for hosting, but I am not sure

What is your recommendation when the client wants to upload photographs for their photography website that are tiff/tif images that are larger then the upload maximum at 25GB
use Wordpress .....client might have to do it through FTP to get past the upload size limit as well as editing the backend of the site but that should take to long and depending on your host they can do it on your behalf.

you forgot to mention , with WIX they own everything software hosting the lot in their hands and very difficult to take you websites with you
WordPress you have pretty much control over everything and you can back up your site move it to a faster service ( most hosting will do it for you ) if your getting the traffic numbers to pay for it or most to another hosting company
as you own the content
however WP just getd continuous hacking attempts . can you do a comparison on best Geo and IP blocking and security
i strongly recommend WordPress u need to keep ur plugins and themes updated like how your mobile manufacturer and Android sends regular updates and security patches to keep ur device protected , ur website hacks because u didn't updated the plugins don't blame wordpress

WordPress plugin activation or update causes conflicts with theme or other plugins putting you into coding path or hire coder which cost $$$$$ high .. WordPress also has a history of hacker attackes due to third party built plugins , themes

You can buy external domain from godaddy
You can connect external domain in wix. Wix is pretty good and easy for new developers
wordpress costs me 400 dollars a year thats crazy plus super hard to edit sometimes the color dont stick when i change them

3:08 You can't create your own theme easily on wordpress so you have to buy theme and plugin and without pro builder plugin its arround of 50$ so it's more expensive xd in fact wix was win.

Wix is better hands down. They have more templates and features and you have to pay to get hosting before you make your website. Wix also has better animation.

Better Hosting is very important for WordPress otherwise cheap hosting will slow or down the site ..
I don't know why but Wix is extremely cheap in India. I had made one and it cost me like 5 just dollars. (Not including domain).

keep hooked theirs clients who don't know nothing in WP and make money on this, that is not a secure platform and many plugins are developed by amateurs and that there is no technical support you didn't say that. Nice promotion for WordPress

Long story short, wix is for suckers, wordpress is for people who like challenge.
