  • How to perform basic settings procedure in Skoda #Octavia MK3 (5E) to fix issues with air temperature, distribution, and circulation. If you have hot air on one side, or you hear some kind of clicking noise from underneath the dashboard, you can start with programing end positions of air flaps motors. You also need to do this if you have replaced the #climatronic unit or after replacing one of the air flaps. This basic settings procedure is often called programming, adaptation, #calibration, relearning.
    ℹ️ This tutorial does not required any diagnostic tools like VCDS, OBDeleven, VAS, VAG-COM. Simply use the button combination from this DIY guide.
    🛠 Skoda Climatronic basic settings procedure.
    Turn the ignition on, press and hold at the same time buttons A/C and Front Air Vent. After 3 seconds indicator will start to flash. Release the buttons and wait about 30 seconds for the programing procedure to finish. When the calibration is done, indicators will go back to normal and you can use the system as usual.
    ℹ️ The same procedure can be used in other Skoda, Volkswagen, and Seat cars. Not limited to MQB platform vehicles.

    I've had to change the flap motor and this helped to get the new motor working as it should and not just blow warm or cold air. Thank you very much😁
    Edit: I've got a skoda octavia mk2 so works for that too

    Great.. had all the windows steaming up all the time in my 2014 Superb... there was also a clicking sound which carried on after the ignition was turned off... presume this was a sticky motorised ventilation flap... did this procedure and all solved.

    My friend hi from Greece.i have the octavia mk3 no automatic climate the simple and the center vents stop working no air from there ,do you have any ideas?the other vents working correctly

    My car (Seat Leon 5F) sometimes has a whizzeling noise at higher speed coming from the ventilation system. Do you think this might solve the problem?

      You can try, but I think that it can be the blower motor. Next time when you hear the noise try adjusting fan speed to check if it disappear at different setting. If so it can be as easy as putting some WD40 on the blower motor axis.

      @@mrfixpl thanks for the info! When my car was in the garage I asked the mechanic to check and he told me he opened it up and cleaned everything around it. However, the whizzeling noise remained.

    Can we keep internal air circulation always on ?

      I believe there's a timer that will automatically disable the recirculation. It can be adjusted with diagnostic tool like OBDeleven, to increase this timeout.
      Can I ask why you want to keep it in circulation?

      @@mrfixpl Not what I meant, all my octavia friends think they have the pragmatic version of the passat: cheaper, better, faster why spend more?! reasoning. 😁

      @@phunkmeister Oh, I get it. Honestly cars on the MQB platform (Passat B8, Golf MK7, Audi A3 8V, Skoda Octavia, Seat Leon 5F) are so similar that on one hand I'm surprised with the price difference, and on the other hand I love the option to retrofit something from a higher segment car or different "brand".

      @@mrfixpl Re: retrofitting, funny one when one of them has shown me the climatronic off button for an older octavia was intentionally blocked with plastic feet from activating the electric contact. You'd cut off those plastic feet and you got an unlabeled button that now did something.

      Octavia is a golf same technic same class. But skodas are always bigger and more practical than volkswagens. Passat and Superb are also same technic and in same class👌
