Please react VINA MORALES AND DENISE LAUREL ... HINDI KO KAYA song
Should react to barumbado by clr prcetag
The level of excitement you get when you decipher some of the words, excites me too! And I must say SPOT ON on your interpretations.
So excited to see your reaction for some of the lyrics, when some of the Filipino words they sing have similar connotations or meanings in Spanish. Actually, in the Philippines we have many Filipino words which are blended with Spanish language and thereby may have same meaning. Being colonized for 300+ years, our dialect has many Spanish influences. This collaboration is truly amazing...love CLR's pitch and this song as a whole.
In tagalog gossip is chismis, kwento is story. We call someone who loves to gossip chismoso/chismosa
Talagaaaaa?? Baklang towww!! May translate2 effect pa!!
Yeah, and “Kwentong Barbero” means made-up stories, and it’s synonymous to gossips which are made-up stories as well or lies.
We now call someone who loves to gossip as Marites.
@@philopinas Luh papansin walang magawa?
And now they just earned a name too--Marites :D (I feel bad for all the good Marites out there!)
you would love CLR's songs in wish. he is a living built-in auto tune ❤️❤️❤️
Bida from vida is protagonist
Kontrabida from contra vida is antagonist
Or commonly hero
alam na nila yan..mga latino yan eh..
In spanish:
Contra/Kontra = Against
Vida = life
That's why they said it's against life.
Here’s some fun facts about the layered language✌🏼
Kamusta - Como estas
Enkwentro - Encuentro
Istorya- Historya
Siguro - Seguro
Di masyado - Demasyado
Unano - Enano
It goes on and on😂
Masyado - Demasiado (too much)
This was interesting, watching Spanish speakers get joy from picking up on the Spanish in Tagalog. Really fun to watch.
Gossipping = kwentong barbero. Kwento itself just means story. :) But love how you disect our language and compare with your language. Love it!!!
CHISMIS is also gossip in spanish chisme
I’m happy you’re finally reacting to CLR and Pricetagg. I’m elated that your enjoying this song 🎶 🎵. Pls keep listening to their other songs. Thank you 😊
HI Waleska and Efra! I'm always looking forward to our video rxns (almost) everyday..😊 So cool to watch u both. Entertaining. Love how u appreciate Filipino talents.... More power to you! ...and stay safe always.
Finally! Ive been waiting for this reaction to happen!!!
CLR got an underrated voice here, he fanbase suddenly burst after his collaboration with KontraBida
Kwentong barbero means like when the barber is telling stories to the client just to keep him/her entertained while cutting their hair. So when someone you feel is lying or exagerating with his story he is making kwentong barbero (barber's story)
That’s why Latinos and Filipinos get along easily. The culture and language is very alike in many ways….
Exactly!
Finally! I've been waiting for this song to get reviewed. Thanks though! 😀
In tagalog:
Kontra = counter
Bida = hero/main character
Kontrabida = counter-hero or villain
@@ppyetv5851 ....
Another thing I found interesting is salva vida - Spanish is life-saving or save lives, right? In Filipino, salbabida is the donut floatie thing to keep people from drowning and keep them afloat... it saves lives!
This level of excitement was similar to me when I learned Spanish in school
HAHAHAHAHA
ahahaha indeed
Salvavida is lifesaver in Spanish. Kinda like life preserver in English.
finally! after years of waiting and suggesting..
here's the glimpse of CLR!!
bat ngayon on wish bus next!
Pls react to Gloc 9 : Magda, Hari ng tondo or Upuan
"Kwentong Barbero" is translated as gossip which is an idiomatic expression here in the Philippines
luv u both...♥️♥️♥️
Maybe you will find it funny if you react to "spanish speakers reacts to filipino phrases with spanish origin".. u will be amazed how some spanish words evolve through passage of time...
Kwento - story
Barbero - barber
Kwentong barbero is barber's story. Idiom of gossip
barbershop talk.
WE FILIPINOS ARE ALSO LEARNING ON YOU GUYS AND I LOVE IT
thanks for the PH LOVE. WE LUV YOUR REACTIONS ,
I just noticed, Filipino rap songs uses a lot of words of Spanish origin... I think it's because words ending in A, D, E, O or R are usually Spanish and a lot of those can be used as rhymes... Words ending with N or M or NG are usually Tagalog words of Malay origin
"
"Bat Ngayon" by CLR on the wishbus! I guarantee you will be blown away!
i learn a lot with you both waleska and efra about language hahahahahaha
This song is for pricetagg.. Because he known as villain in battle rap league. Which is called fliptop.
in tagalog, bida means hero (in any story), with the supposition that heroes bring life (Vida in Spanish). so kontrabida is the antithesis of hero which makes kontrabida (instead of contra Vida or against life) basically meaning against (kontra) the hero (bida) = villain.
to add context, pabida is a slang which means someone who pretends to be a hero.
one thing to keep in mind is the filipino alphabet does not have the letters c, f, j, v, x, z but has 2 letters the english alphabet doesn't have which are ñ (as in niño) and ng (pronounced as nang) so c is replaced with k, f with p, and v with b. 😉
please next PRICETAGG ft GLOCK 9 X JP BACALLAN "Pahina" you will blown away by JP BACALAN's voice
Bida = hero / good guy / lead character / star
Kontrabida = antihero / bad guy / villain / jerk
Kwento = tale / story
Tsismis = gossip
Filipino rappers consider themselves as poets (manunula). If you understand Filipino you will love Philippine rap as you hear how poetic they are. This particular song still sounds poetic even though it is more vernacular. Notice that they used 'kwento' instead 'tsismis' because the latter is so harsh and would lose poetic points. This song uses so much spanish-based words because it is vernacular or common talk.
You were excited to recognize some words to be Spanish-based. But you actually missed so much other Spanish-based words used.
I see that the hispanic spirit in the Filipino is connecting with yours. It is not just the commonality in words but rather in spirit. The spirit expressed and obvious in OPM.
It's one of their best song
oh i watched it late, it's so awesome when they have wow moments haha. awesome also to learn some of the spanish words (they didn't realize that gossip is chismis in filipino but I realized it's based on a spanish word because they said the spanish word haha)
Please react to "Barumbado" by clr and pricetagg . Salamat 🤙
I get excited when you guys get excited!😋
I dont think Filipino rappers are used to pre recorded track so they can do adlibs. I feel like they would just collab with another artist to be able to do the adlibs and the featured artist do the main rapping/singing (or vice versa).
Nice im about to see reaction before i sleep
Bida - Main Star ( In a Movie)
Kontrabida -Villain (In a Movie or IRL
i hope you two can visit the philippines soon!
I love how you giys happy hearing some Spanish words in Tagalog….Bravo Magnifico..
Ariba Ariba…hahaha…
Kontrabida means antagonist or the bad guy in the Philippines.
Bida is the hero, the protagonist, the good guy.
i love your audio in this video
Next, Pahina, PriceTagg, JP and Gloc9!!!
kontrabida means villains
Finalmente!!!!!!!!
MORE OF CLR PLEASE!! BAT NGAYON SPECIALY

Mabuhay
kwento means story in the philippines but in the lyrics they said kwentong barbero which means a gossip. the term kwentong barbero is like an expression. :)
To put it simply. Modern Day Filipino Language(Standard Tagalog) are mix of influences from hundreds of local dialects, Sanskrit, Polynesian Indonesia Malay Chinese Japanese Spanish and American English. Mix it well along Father time. Then there you have it the most Lyrical language of all.
🔥🔥🔥
Popcorn is just popcorn but corn is also "mais" in Tagalog
in tagalog language "bida" refers to the protagonists in cinema ... so the antagonist are called "kontrabida" the antagonist..
In tagalog. Gossip is chismis and kwentong barbero literally means "barber stories" which is an urban phrase used to say gossip.
"Popcorn" still in the PH! Also, please listen to "Ibong Adarna" by Flow-G and Gloc-9!
Kontrabida = Villain because Bida means Protagonist or the MC. Kontra is Against. so yea Someone who goes against the MC is the Villain.
kwento is also means story for us filipinos. Gossip = is chismis(tsismis).
Corn in Philippines is Mais, mais con yelo, corn wid ice ❄
Pricetagg known as villain in battle rap world.. Hehe
Also popcorn here in ph
It's funny. We call gossip "chismis". And yes story here is "kwento" too.
Efra you're so cute i was like im watching korean drama you are the oppa 😊😍
Come here in ph ❤️
In the Philippines popcorn is called... popcorn! 😄 I think we might have gotten it from the Americans, maybe. So, it's "popcorn" . Nom nom 😆
Pls do a cover for this Efra😁
Pop corn is just pop corn 😄😁
kwento is story. tsismis is actually the word for gossip. but "kwentong barbero" (barbershop story translated in english) is actually an idiom which means gossip.
Bida or Vida is the protagonist, the star, the “life” of the movie like “life” of the party. Contrabida is against the vida - antagonist.
Kwento also means story in Filipino. Kwentong Barbero is Barbershop stories which means gossip in this case.
Filipino words some times has double meaning or more. Like the word "mura and mahal".. mura could mean "low cost or curse" dpends on the sentence you're constructing. Same as mahal, it could mean "love or pricey"
We call it popcorn too. 😅
"I'm Paquito on fernando poe's world"
Paquito Diaz - famous filipino villain
Fernando Poe Jr. - Famous filipino action star / bida
gossip is also chismis in the Philippines.
Some foreigners who aren't familiar of Filipino language describes the language as a Chinese and Spanish sounding language...
Basically, there's a fusion of East and West here in the Philippines. And that makes us different from our neighbors, they even excludes Philippines sometimes like makes us feel like bastards in our Asian family.
I love both my Asian and Hispanic heritage.
🇵🇭🇲🇽

more of CLR
Finally! Haha
Try watching "barumbado" there 2nd wish video
Gossiping in PH sometimes come from the barber shops because of you waiting on the berber shop you can hear different story about others, that's why it is called Kwentong barbero.
Privetagg is a badboy of Pilipino rap battle.
There are actually a lot Spanish songs famous in the Philippines
I would love to see your reaction to CLRs official MV of his track IAFLS.. guess what IAFLS means after watching the MV. The hook by the way is in english..
Popcorn or corn in country in Philippines is also call MA-IS = MAIS
Check on CLR, Pricetagg "Barumbado" it's also good!
Try to listen to CLR "p song" and "bakit ngayon ka lang", you'll love it!
Other Spanish derived words/phrases we use in the Philippines whose meanings are specific here:Pan de Regla, lamyerda, conyo, kesehoda, susmaryosep.
“Contra”means ,Antagonist and “Bida” means Protagonist. Fighting against Protagonist. They got that from movies.
Kontra literally actually means "against" and "bida" is the protagonist. So Kontrabida means "antagonist"
Actually contra means anti and bida means protagonist
kuwentong barbero translates to 'your making that up, its a lie, telling a tale'. the other tagalog slang word for Gossip is Tsismis/Chismis(Cheese - miss).
Bida=Hero
Kontrabida=villain
here’s the funny thing… all those borrowed spanish words you hear actually have pure Tagalog word equivalents, but they do not roll off the tongue as easy as spanish so we use spanish.
for example we when counting up to ten, we use tagalog… or other local dialect… but beyond ten? easier to use the spanish pronunciation…. heck, other dialects have even already forgotten their local numbers beyond ten and just use Spanish.
If you ask me… the term Taglish forgets the fact that there is a large amount of spanish words in there too… TagSpanGlish?
YOU MUST WATCH THE MV OF THIS SONG
Can you Please React to Juan Thugs n Harmony songs?? "Momay" and also the wish live "Bakit Ngayon"
I Promise you will LOVE IT VERY MUCH.
hi nice one
To the person who read this Jesus is always be with you and he love.
Bida is Filipino word for the hero of the story. That's why the kontrabida is the villain. There's a popular concept here where the villain is actually a hero and we call it bida-kontrabida. Pabida means pretending to be a hero/bida.
Interesting though why we call the hero bida when in Spanish it's life. Bakit kaya no? Then life of the hero
Please react "Ibong adarna " flict G ft. Glock 9 ❤️ love from philippines 🇵🇭
kwento or storya is also story in filipino
