Hello DJ Barr! We would like to thank you for featuring our setup in your video and also thumbnail. As our light broke and them 2 photos was all in 1 weekend and I have now taken on your opinions and I agree and have just bought a light bar! We are really glad that you like our setup and the stages come with our setup! 👌🏻 If your up in Scotland let us know and we would be more then happy for you to come and visit us at a gig. And have now added a gobo projector 😊
Thanks 👌🏻
Your DJ logs are awesome. I highly enjoy every video. Please continue on updating us on all your adventure. You're an role model to all entry DJs. I've been in the business for roughly 17 years since the 70's but trying to maintain my passion to music and being a DJ . God blessed on your success. Look for in some day meeting you in person. Moving back to NJ from FL. Missed civilization and the lovely local people up north. Yours truly, Candyman
DJ Barr thank you for the shout out and critique. Keep doing what you do. Love watching all the videos
I truly enjoyed the video concept. Glad so many DJs are participating and hopefully take your words of advice to improve their set-up.
YO i love you thanks so much for all your videos!!! you've helped me an entire lot i'm kinda new to djing and i'm glad you've given me a good start on what i wanna do thanks so much!!

Great to see more forests from Scotland!
Scotland yass !!!!!!!!!!
Great video mate!
Love this video!👍🏻👍🏻
Another great vlog Barr! I hate I didn't send a pic in of Mine!! Maybe next Time!!
I think you kind of underestimate the effect that good lighting and lighting show suitable to the music you play has on the people dancing. Your comments on the setups are fair and professional, keep it up!
Yes please do more!!Or can I just send you mine?Would love some Critique. Thanks love the videos you have helped me so much you have no idea!!Be blessed and mix on!🙏❤️⭐️
thanks for showing my set up bro ,, I did pushed in the speaker tripod behind t he truss tripods Lol it was my first time doing this set up... but now I got away from that truss and got aluminum truss 6 and a half feet.. and the gigbars go on top,,, I will send you my new set up
caught me off guard this didn't expect a video today
Gigbars are the bomb! Been using one for months, the convenience far outweighs carrying a bunch of lights around.
like this vid and seeing diff set ups, thank you...whats the name of the song at the end??
I use the white table scrim on smaller gigs. Not a fan of the facades, whenever I use mine I feel boxed in? More freedom with the open table set up. What do you recommend for lighting up the scrim or facade in terms of wash? Great video Barr.
You forgot my setup bro.. it's all good next time man. Good video
really cool heiping me alot know this is yough buisnesss but love it ur the greatist thimk ur on ur way to big sucesss u know ur stuff!
Thanks for the review hermanito!!! I was thinking the same thing, I need something like what you got.
Dude we need to have a Mix-Session/BBQ...
Let me know when you're in NY again...

Nice! Keep it up!
DJBARR Your killing it bro. DJRey845.
Don't know how it got goofed but you said my name was Oscar, lol I had the large lighting setup with the short skrims. The new truss stand legs were longer then my old truss and it's hard to stretch them up when they are spread out. This room was a 300+ person wedding in a very large room.
Anyways, Matt from Making memories. Thanks for the feature.
“He looks like he put a big condom on the speaker” 😂
I put a stretched peaker scrim over mines depends on the set up, it adds to the asethetics of the set up by hiding the woofer and horn, to make it flow with the set up and give a good appearance, remeber speakers are meant to be heard not seen, its us DJ's that are impressed by the brand we use not the client or audience, just to give you a lil insight on why its being done.
Hey Barr,
I basically "inherited" a bunch of lighting and am trying to figure out a good set up. Maybe I could send photos of the lighting I've inherited and draw up a design for me? I don't know if it would be interesting enough for a segment in one of your videos, but it sure would interest me =) Keep up the great Vlogging. -Jen aka DJ Tibby Turntables
yes thank you i am try to buy active speakers one pair 220 and it come with stands and cables so sir you think is good for the money? and so is not good to spend big money in speakers
Hey Barr. Do you own the PRX718 subs or do you borrow them?
I'm trying to find out a good soundcard to go with that's under 200 or even a hundred. Any advice?
Lol nice. Video I really like it a lot😂
Realy like the all black on black set ups.
good video.
"I - I I I don't like that... " where is that from? I know I heard that before. I know it's from a tv show or movies
"How do you guys mount the lights on top?"
😂😂😂😂😂 my cheap ass immediately responds "Tape... Yup, Tape"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Notification Fam
puedes hacer una segunda parte saludos
I would like to send a picture of my setup for the next video. Where should I send it to? Also what info should I include?
Felt like I was watching a Jared Polin Photo Critic. My only constructive criticism is that you are too nice, some of those set up were ugly AF!
I bought a gig bar too!
Suggestion for set up #4 get oil paint and paint ya subwoofer. Those scratches really look bad
Not oil paint, use bedliner.
Vince James lol ive been using oil paint the whole time. Thanks man🙏
I think speaker scrims are the tackiest thing....I'm just not a fan...I think it draws more attention to a setup, which maybe intended to be discreet. I think most of the setups would be better without them.
I am torn on them also, the white with the uplighting looks good in low light, but tacking in medium lighting. The black looks better than cheap stands, but if you have high end $200 plus stands, putting $30 worth of spandex on them doesn't really make sense. I think it's better to just buy a high end set of stands and use good cable management.
Dj Shocase ñ
First one I would but the sub behind the cloth cover
I dj standing up... you must dj sitting down 😂😂😂😩😩😭😭😂😂😂
I think you should do this again for other people so we can all learn from someone else's opinion!!
Q onda aver que dia subes un video en español para los que no saben el ingles
F ing love you bro
I watch all your videos and this is very intresting make more and ill send a pic of my setup and hope I make the vid +) love from Cali hope to see you in June I follow on Snapchat also +)
Thanks for the critique! It's DJ Q-Ball here... you think my names funny?! LOL It's because of the bald head and a nickname I was given after getting out of the Army.
I agree with the gobo! It wasn't mine. The venue had it ceiling mounted for all their customers.

Set up #6 for the lols.
I'm not a fan of an even number of panels in a facade. I'd prefer a fifth panel so your have one in the center. I also like when the facade is in a curve instead of just right angles. I use a table skrim because I like the solid panel look. I'm no longer a fan of trusses unless it's a school dance or a club atmosphere. I don't understand the TV thing. I guess if the client is willing to pay for it but it does nothing for me.
How do I enter in my setup?
The setup at 3:30 has an 18 inch sub not 15. In the eon series there is no 15 inch sub..
te voy a mandar mis set up para que salga en el proximo video.. deja tu email por aqui please, bueno pues sigue con los buenos videos.
someone should explain to the guy with setup number 12 about comb filtering :/
HHAHAHA FUCK IM DYING
Man, this set up at 15:53 got me pissed, why? Because he placed the speakers on the floor which is kinda bad for sound ampilification he should have used tables or whatever that can put this higher
Tienes Cara de Caime Gordo. Pero tu echale ganas amigo. :)
The dot affect is my worst enamy
A lot of these guys gotta buy facades =(
Overhead trusses are a waste of money unless you go for FULL (actual?) overhead trussing. Scrims are just...so bleh to me. Never was a fan of them. 11:20 has the best set-up,IMO. You can buy better spotlights so you can instal gobos into them. I would never recommend buying a gobos projector unless you use multiple gobos throughout a room. Just seems kinda like a waste...OR if the client does not want to pay for lighting but wants a gobo.
15:06 has a pretty "eh". Setup. If you buy trussing that tall, you have to at least have something that covers the entire height of the truss. The exposed trussing kind of ruin this set up if I'm being perfectly honest.
I'm not a fan of those effects fixtures. Spot lights and wash lights are great but those effect lights are just so eh to me.
Speakers on the floor....are just a waste. like in 15:40... The only speakers that should be on floors are subs....they are designed for that kind of stuff. Again, Scrims just look silly, especially if they don't cover the whole tripod....
I did this in real time. Everything else I did not mention was just 'eh". I dunno.
TL;DR 11:20 set-up is the best.
DJ Solstice absolutely. However, you have to commit to the lighting you put on your exposed trussing.
I have the first gigbar, can confirm it is a great fixture and gets the job done even in relatively big rooms
Gigbar IRC owner here too-I cosign your comment!
I just wanted to comment on subwoofer placement. I don't like the subwoofer front and center. It's completely unnecessary. I know some experts on you tube claim it you group your subwoofers together it will increase low frequency volume. That's true but it doesn't increase the low frequency volume across the entire room. You're better off separating the subwoofers to even out the bass within the room and across the dance floor. It's also unnecessary to have the subwoofers close to the dance floor. The bottom octave where subwoofers play is omnidirectional. You can put them anywhere and it's not going to ruin your stereo effect. The low frequency wavelengths are longer than higher frequencies so putting subwoofers behind you brings the has back into the dance floor instead of bouncing of the wall across the dance floor. It will sound tighter on the dance floor.

WTH is settup#11
In the personal I don't let anyone use my gear. I will brin another dj but he won't be using my Controller. So I will say is fine to have 2 controllers !!
Jorge Garcia that's a little odd 😅 you really won't let other DJ's play on your controller?
No Sir. With all respect but I won't let anyone. Some ppl is very irresponsable and dj with a drink on hand so I will regretted to have to get a new controller than just tell them to bring their own controller lol
I think ev and mackies dose not go good together
So many setups with only single subs.
Set up 12 looks super dope, it's the gym that throws it off!
A lot of times you only need one sub.
Barr u have a dirty mind 0:00

Maybe you can say you got the idea from DJ Timothy?
+Leds Dance Entertainment Love DJ TimoThy, he is my friend. I honestly didn't / seen a video like this. I got the idea from From FroKnowsPhoto
