The DISGUSTING Truth About Springtrap and Deliah

- Springtrap and Deliah was one of the most popular and beloved FNAF fan comics years ago. However, in recent times, the comic has raised many red flags, red flags that would unfortunately be confirmed after the horrid actions of the comic's creator would come to light.

Hey, don't be hard on yourself. You were a kid. Hell, lots of kids don't have a good understanding of healthy boundaries or what a good relationship looks like, simply because teen brains go through a process of caring WAY too much about peer validation in order to be seen as worthy or lovable. Lots of you likely projected yourselves into Springtrap - afraid of being rejected, terrified of abandonment, and feeling angry and powerless about it. Directing that anger outwards at friends and family instead of reacting in a healthy way. You were obsessed with Springtrap and Deliah *through the eyes of a teenager who was going through those same behaviors.* But now that you're all adults, you're seeing Springtrap for what he was intended to be: an adult. Not a teenager having teenager feelings, a grown ass man behaving like a boy instead of the adult he's supposed to be. Boy is he a fucked up adult. You don't have to feel guilty for liking media that you realize *now* was not necessarily healthy. That's how character growth works.

You can totally tell it was written by a kid from how jarringly chill every single character still is with Springtrap. Even if Springtrap wasn't a possessed animatronic or a murderer and was just some random grown-ass man, the reactions from pretty much every character would STILL be too subdued to be realistic. Nick's attitude of "it's not right but I don't wanna get involved because it makes my daughter happy" reeks of wishful thinking on the part of a teenager who has an adult friend (speaking from experience). Any real life parent would nip that shit in the bud, knowing that even though they'll be upset and hate you for it in the moment, you're saving them from a much worse fate later down the line.
That having been said though, the other aforementioned elements of Springtrap just push the reactions into absolutely hilarious territory.

I was always uncomfortable with how the author tried to make Springtrap, a literal child killer, friends with a child.
Should have realized the red flags but still, did not expect it to go in this direction.
When I was younger , I always thought it was a little bit weird, particularly regarding the fact that I thought that Delilah’s dad was justified in being suspicious of him but I didn’t find it super terrible until Springtrap started having beef with Harry to a degree where he’s threatening a teenage boy for believing that Delilah deserves so much better . It turned me off of the series when I was little so I never knew that it had an ending or anything of the sort . It’s still weird and upsetting knowing what other intentions the creator had when it came to the series , especially with so many red flags in it to make me at grade school or early middle school age to not want to continue with the series
the horrible person is horrible, its just a story of a child murderer basically grooming a kid lol
Imo it would be better if it was her Dad that found him and they get good friends sharing a beer imo.
Much less creppy.
Well, the unforgivable being atoned for is an interesting idea for fiction. It's also just really heartwarming in a weird, twisted way.
I genuinely do not understand how anyone was surprised by what came out about the author. All the wack shit is signposted with bright neon letters, people
“And that he’s never going to give her up”
Me: “… wait-… that sounds a little.. familiar..”
I'm gonna be honest, this video made me proud of myself as an ex-lovebomber because me being disgusted by spingtraps actions means i grew
Glad that you changed for the better, bruv. 👍
You know, it’s funny how the official Fnaf movie did the “little girl befriends dead guy in an animatronic” WAY better. It probably helps that Abby befriends the dead kids who were unjustly killed and manipulated, so when they want to turn her into an animatronic, it comes off more as misguidance. It’s understandable from children, not the grown man who’s also a serial killer.
The only thing I could think of that would make this not disgusting is if all the characters were adults (excluding the dead children). Her dad could be replaced with a brother, and Deliah would be in her late-20s. It would've still been creepy and gross, but it would be slightly less creepy and gross.
My mom was saying that her theory was that the children had a bad case of dumb kid brain and went "if Abby is like us we'll be able to play together forever without ever having to go home or go to school" and didn't realize thag making her into an animatronic would involve killing her bc dumb kid brain doesn't process death real good it hust went "we're robots and we're alive it'll be fine" no freddy it won't be fine that kills people
I don't doubt that william didn't have a hand in them reaching the "LETS SPRINGLOCK HER" conclusion because honestly they'd probably jump to "LET'S KEEP HER HERE WITH US" before that
@@IronBrandon22 probably wouldnt work, Deliah was a child, theres no way the author could make Deliah older and still as stupid as she was then
@@diorande1165 Yeah, but it *is* the only way I can think of that would make it not as disgusting. Maybe make her a bit of a child-ish adult (not as dumb, though). The main reason I thought of it was because her friend Harry was so oddly “smart” (but still dumb to trust Springtrap, which would also have to change). The whole story is a mess, so my change alone wouldn’t fix it.
Yeah, it could be a cool idea, but movie really sucked though
Harry’s parents being okay with Springtrap being a dead child murder will forever confuse me
Literally like why were they not worried that the dead child murderer snuck into their child sons room at night
He may came at home with crazy stuff like this before so it was normal for them
i dont think anyone needs to explain to you just how much that doesnt work for the narrative. it s 6 foot robot who is a child murderer. even if the kid frequently brings home like dead animals or something, that is alarming in of itself. @@yamheryareli9667

I mean it makes sense, what if they were scared that they might die bc of how big and scary he is? The brother calls him murdery, and the mom called the dad about Spring trap, so they weren't fully okay like secretary or whatever
alternative comic idea
instead of springtrap being weird and possessive towards a kid that let him into their home, how about a comic about a single dad who finds this weird robot rabbit guy and decides to take it home. but then- love blooms.
wacky family sitcom shenanigans ensue as the two try to raise a kid together in a normal suburban household. springtrap gets one of those “i’m not the stepdad, i’m just a dad that stepped up” shirts

might draw it as a one off bit if i’m feeling silly
@@NewtidI enjoy this idea! Maybe make springtrap not a child murderer tho??? And like maybe an accidentally springtrapped person
@@chipkid i feel like that aspect of springtrap is way too important to just entirely remove, so i've got an alternative pitch:
there was some sort of cartoonishly over the top freak accident, maybe indirectly caused by springtap, which resulted in his death along with 5 children (or maybe just coworkers)
however as years pass and rumours are spread, the tale is eventually twisted into the spooky story of some serial killer in a rabbit costume going around killing kids
the true scary story is that of improperly handled workplace hazards
@@Newtid oh gosh that’s so real I love it

I personally don't think it's an issue with having comics or pieces of media portraying people in abusive or manipulative relationships, as it can help people feel seen, and even serve as a wake up call. However, anything that sympathizes with the abuser can be harmful and perpetuate the cycle, so it's always best to portray such things with a lot of care.
Just my personal thoughts.

Why is it so hard for Talented people to be good people?
Hubris? Limelight? There's a lot of things.
I have the same question. On the other side people ignore artists that weren't any danger to others.
That's what I'm saying the multiple times I follow a talented artist on social media only to find out they are pedophiles. Why?
It’s not that it’s hard for talented people to be good people, people are bad people talent or not but you only know of them because of their talent.
Ikr? I can't even listen to some good music without the artist being a jackass.
I still remember reading the comic and got to the part where the kid and Springtrap had their confrontation in his bedroom before he leaves a long time ago, but never truly finishing it due to losing interest in FNAF fan stuff at that time, but never knew that they've done that stuff behind the scenes before their eventual (and honestly the best thing for one to do) departure from the internet as well as not completely finishing the comic out of respect to those who deemed it as a bad idea for obvious reasons.

The dynamic between Springtrap and Deliah has that same creepy vibe as Ralph and Venellope had in Ralph breaks the internet!
This does explain why I felt uncomfortable with Ralph being clingy to Venellope in the second movie since in the first it gives off father daughter vibes while the second gives a creepy guy simping for his daughter’s friend vibe.
I knew as a kid that there was a weird feeling by their dynamics as he kept guilt tripping Deliah and manipulating her innocence! And I felt so bad for her as Springtrap threatens her and tries to take her away from Nick to keep all to himself!

Why does this shit always happen with springtrap? Why can’t we get a story with springtrap where he is not a pedo.
I think it's difficult for most people to understand why someone would kidnap and kill that many kids if they weren't...
In the past I used to have a theory that the Toy animatronics' facial recognition didn't work on William because he specifically wasn't on a s3x offender list, I think Phone Guy mentioned something about the database they used consisting of predators?
Real life child murderers where pedos, and a story with Afton as a pedo could work it’s just the writers seem to be using it as ship bait instead of playing it for the horror that it is
What about SaM?
@@BlueSkyBirdieswell
No I think that was the canon reasoning. William wasn't on any criminal database so they could look straight at him and would deem him as safe. Obviously Henry thought that whoever killed his daughter had to have been on a registry somehow, like the way it happened would give massive "not their first time" vibes and most of the time, the person who did it is on a registry. So like. Yk. Install them to prevent any future incidents but didn't work because william isn't on one. Honestly the toy animatronics are really fucking dark when you separate them from the current lore and look at them alone.
Since most child killers are p-words, I assume that's why so many stories where he's a p-word exist. It's very rare for a child killer to NOT be doing it for those reasons honestly. Back when he was just purple guy there wasn't much to go off of because he was a nothingburger. Obviously now we know that he did it for the thrill / feeling powerful (in the movies) and to create a twisted fucked up family (in the books) but back then he was kind of a "it can be anyone" type thing. As in he seemed like a character that would represent something so horrible but be kept so bland that you can't tell why they do what they do or how they became the kind of person to do that.
Which tbh is a cool concept. But it isn't the canon.
I always got iffy vibes from this comic, especially since it seems to romanticize manipulation. Makes me wonder what happened in the creator’s personal life, especially since they created this comic when they were a teenager. Absolutely disgusting, thanks for making such a detailed summary of everything
It makes me wonder their homelife too. They seem to romanticize this emotional abuse and manipulation which is something I did as a teen actually. In my rps my character was always the victim that needed to be saved when I was 16…I learned at 20 in therapy that it wasn’t normal. It was shown as normal in media like Pretty Little Liars. I also was with someone who was a year younger than me and emotionally took advantage of me being on the spectrum and being super empathetic. They always had manic episodes like Springtrap where if I was away I was wrong and yelled at and threw lovebombed after I cried. There was just so much unhealthy in that relationship Ali my with my family…sometimes these things seem normal.
I really hope Quinn has gotten therapy with their time off the internet. It is disgusting and I won’t justify what they did. I believe anyone can change, especially now that they’re an adult and can reflect on what they roleplayed and viewed back then.
I agree with the both of you. I sincerely hope that Quinn has changed for the better, and that they remain off of the internet. This whole situation is so disgusting, yet depressing at the same time. I truly wonder what happened to them in their childhood to make them believe that this kind of behavior was okay…
I feel awful for everyone involved, especially the people that Quinn has personally affected.
Makes me wonder if she might've been in/had a problematic relationship like that at the time and was manipulated into thinking that kind of stuff was normal
Not saying it excuses it, but I’d rather believe that she was simply misguided and realized as she grew older than that she just fully endorses that type of behavior
to be fair. when i first read this comic i thought it was normal. because this is how my parents behaved as well (not to the sane extend because as far as im aware they aren't child murderers) but hot dang. revisitng this after having been in therapy is a SHOCK. i hope the creator can learn to relaise this and work on themselves
She seemed to relate with her character springtrap, and did rps as him :/ doing things to delilah
Not them casually reinventing the lore- From mentally ill psychopath with dead kids and trauma and a messed up family to a lonely child predator.
Oml when I read those descriptions Quin made I almost cried because of how disturbing it was 😭
It was very very shocking, but I was more shocked that someone of that age wrote it, than the actual content. I'm so desensitized 😭
How did anyone ever not notice the red flags in this comic series??? This whole book screams manipulation
It was cute and we didn't see it as bad because funny bunny man and relatable girl have fun adventures with angst!
to be fair, a lot of people in the fnaf fandom were younger kids. they probably didn’t know the true nature of the comic when they were younger
I just didn’t know because 1 - I was young, and 2 - I was undiagnosed (autistic) back then, and apparently as of this year I found out that manipulation runs in the family. It’s time to break this generational curse.
If anyone is confused I’m talking about mainly the adults at the time I can understand children not noticing the undertones but it’d be pretty clear as an adult
@@RandomShortGuy528I was 18 when I read it so technically an adult and, while I picked up on the red flags, I assumed it was intentionally unhealthy and that part of his redemption arc would be learning how to be alone. The light ending at that time felt a little underwhelming, but I chalked it up to the writer being young (and at the time they were apparently 16.) I don’t think having terrible person as your protagonist is necessarily awful, and I felt like he was treated as unreliable, but I guess a lot of kids that read it weren’t thinking about those aspects. It’s kind of underanalyzing vs. overanalyzing the comic.
“I’m NoT a FlUfFy BuNny..InFaCt I’vE kIllEd SiX kiDs, BuT i OnLy WaNtEd To BE FrIeNdS” lmfao yeah ok

Huh.. popular minecraft gaming CZcamsr found to be a pedophile.. Who would've known.
It's creepy how the fans of this comic idolized/glorified Springtrap and Delilah's relationship and called it as a Father-daughter dynamic when their relationship is creepy, obsessive, manipulative and toxic. Then they demonized characters who calls out this fact (Harry and Nick) when they have every right to point it out.
Well, thinking about it, when I found the dub, I was roughly 9-12 and I would assume a lot of other fans were as well. When you grow up on the internet, especially at a young age, you don't really think of these behaviours as off or weird especially if you grew up with it in your own household. Obviously, now I would assume many of us are 18 and up, we realize how horrible these behaviours are and side with the ones against it.
I'm not saying this as a way to defend, but to explain how it could've played out.
@@sunwukongtivethis is why I don't like this type of content being glorified in media it sends a terrible message to children making them believe that tolerating abusive behaviors is a good thing which is not.
Fans are demonizing one sane character who rightfully calling out the other characters bad behavior and gets hated for it. which made me feel scared for the mindset of people in the real world. Thus why I avoid people.
Well, they do have a father-daughter dynamic, but it`s the "holly shit how in the world this horrendous, abusing and discusting being became a D A D????? Please tell me that in the end he is euither dead or in jail" type of story -

@@user-lr5bg3zq4yAnd yet he still gets a free pass by the fandom and has a decent ending. If i were in Nick or Delilah's situation i would immediately kick Springtrap out of the house and call the police on him or kill him as revenge for the dead innocent children he killed.
It appears to me that the author was most likely projecting their trauma into this story. Roleplaying Nick telling Deliah how awful Springtrap is sounds like something they wished was told to them.
I believe Quinn said they related more to springtrap
@@stitchgor3 Then I guess there's some concerns to be be raised. But it could also be another trauma response of putting herself in the assailant's shoes to get a sort of "revenge".

I’d love to see a video on blueycapsules. I was a fan back in 2022 and made a little bit of fanart right before everything fell apart. In retrospect I’m a little embarrassed to have liked it at all. I’d be interested in seeing you talk about the general downfall of twitter fnaf comics, as after blueycapsules fell apart quite a few other comics also got into controversy or obscurity, whether it was because of the creators or because of targeted harassment. I believe there are still a couple that exist but I honestly couldn’t name any since I’ve been away from fnaf twitter for a while, which I think is the best thing any fnaf fan could do for themselves, lol.
blueycapsules in general is just a crazy comic to look back on, especially with the information we have now. and while it was pretty “cringe”, it’s also important that we remember it was mostly loved by kids. pretty sure a good chunk of the artists were minors, or at least newly 18-19. I remember being in a fan server (not for blueycapsules, but contained a lot of blueycapsules fans) where people didn’t have to specify their age, which caused a lot of discomfort for me (17/18 at the time) finding out I was talking to literal 12 year olds. fnaf fandom in general but ESPECIALLY when it comes to fan comics seems to have that issue of separation between kids and adults.

Redemption arc if you will. Fan media is already surrounded in so much canon anything’s possible, and as far as I remember this was after fnaf 3 or so, so all we really had revolving him was the 5(6?) kids so some people thought he’d be capable of it after getting his judgement. It’s an undertale kinda situation.
The comic was very inaccurate because canonically William Afton has 3 kids and a wife and just killed the kids out of pure evil, hatred and his own selfishness.
This may sound silly but this video was weirdly healing for me. For reasons I won’t disclose, as a child/ teen these red flags were transparent for me. Now in adult hood, I’m left to dissect it all. this idea of Springtrap befriending a child while being haunted by his victims would be a lot more interesting if it was, well, Spring Bonnie. just say William stopped possessing the suit when his body was removed, but the spirits don't know that. dude's being blamed for the murders when William was the one wearing him (granted this'd have to be done really carefully)
Yeah that sounds way more interesting than this
It'd likely help if say, the springbonnie animatronic is found after the body is removed. Upgraded and given the same software sort of, as the glamrocks. This way the sentience makes sense. As older animatronic types from the 90s in reality don't have sentience (unless theoretically possessed but even then)
Enabling the animatronic to experience more. So maybe there was basic sentience. But then the upgrades gave him/her *depending on how you see springbonnie), the upgrades, enables emotion, empathy, sympathy, apathy, deeper thought. Which can make a compelling character learning to build their own path but struggling to escape the past and struggling to deal with the consequences caused by someone else, now pushed onto them.
Could really truly be interesting if done in a specific way
Quiet Tomato’s Springtrap and Mangle did something like this, kinda. Afton still possesses Spring Bonnie but only at night because his soul is too powerful to resist compared to the children.
there are fanfics kinda like this, im assuming a lot of people who grew up and realized springtrap and deliah was gross are semi-remaking it now without the weird junk
Talking from my own trauma I did actually do kinda the same thing but in private, I was groomed 3 times, 1 from a crush, 1 from a brother fidgure and 3 by my boyfriend, I had this OC I would project my trauma onto and a good chunk of it was being groomed, I never liked being groomed but seeing my OC in that situation helped me realised how messed up it was and opened my eyes for future grooming, and I feel horrible about inflicting that trauma onto my character but it felt nice to see it and have more control in the situation instead of feeling helpless, its almost nice sometimes but I do realised how messed up it was. Today I'm still dealing with that trauma and I am very distrusting of people but I'm still working on it, and I can see how they used this comic to relief themself from the trauma and coping, however I do not think any of the shipping and comics were okay, I hope their doing better as I've been there before :
This is very informative and I appreciate you shining light on this situation, I had no idea people shipped them at all. Thanks for making this video it’s very helpful for people who are getting to see these old comics and have a bit more context about them.❤️

Also, lighter note, holy shit you unlocked a memory with out with the old
Even if the author apparently did some no good stuff at the idea of warping the story, I’d like to still think of the story itself about a mentally unwell albeit bad person trying to be a good father figure when he really doesn’t deserve a second chance. The story has always been interesting to me as a kid that despite knowing his awful deeds he’s really trying (and sorta failing) which makes him easier to root for then a knowingly manipulative and intentionally evil person.
