Hi, I also bmwscanner by cons I can not go in the menu "Livedata" is gray and therefore not accessible. I have a 320d DDE-3.0 and a 330d DDE4.0. I solder pins 7 and 8 because I had an error message "error connection with IKE" but thanks to the welding of 7-8 the software works perfectly. hi. I have a 2004 bmw 320i. I just purchased an uncut key with the security chip in it however from what i was told even if i have a locksmith cut me a key the car will not start as the key is not programmed to the car(anti-theft) My keyfob that came with the car is in bad shape and i tried replacing the battery and had no luck. BMW wants way to much for a new keyfob so i purchased one online. The retailer told me the only thing i had to do was get it cut and then have BMW ensure the anti theft chip is coded to the car. Issue is ..that BMW want to make money and want to sell you a key for 300$...Would this programmer allow me to program the car to my new key? I know how to program the key to unlock lock doors etc..but i am referring to the anti theft portion of the key that has a chip that only works with the car it is paired to. So will this BMW scanner allow me to pair the key and avoid going to BMW ? Hope i explained it properly so you can understand my issue at hand. Thanks

I will probably bring the blank key to a locksmith to have it cut however once its cut from what i understood i could only open doors with key or us keyfob to open and lock doors(once programmed that is) But could not actually start the car as the EWS is not programmed to new key. I wonder if BMW can do it at their shops or am i out of luck. I am not looking to purchase programmer etc just to program once key as it would probably be cheaper to go to BMW and buy a new pre cut key at he end of the day. I do believe i understood your reply. +CATAHA wow. Than i do believe i wasted my money on the ebay key. I am in way over my head. I managed to fix the original keyfob by putting new VL2020 battery however case would close properly so i tried removing and trying again and broke the leads off the battery and the ones on the oroginal were useless and impossible to remove....so I ordered a few from different vendors in the hopes the leads will be in the correct position on battery and I will then be able to solder back in and close key. last battery had weird leads that ended up putting the battery way to high hence not being able to close the key so I gave up after trying to bend then enough to move battery to correct position and they broke. SO hopefully i did not ruin anything when messing around the first time around. I also purchased better soldering equipment including a pump to remove all the excess solder etc and some flux and better solder as well. I knew the ebay key was too good to be true for 40$. They promised all i had to do was get key cut at locksmith and do the old put in ignition turn off and on 5 times hold button down and then middle button 3 times crap and I would be able to use this key to open doors and drive. They neglected to tell me because of the anti theft system the key is not recognized and about the only thing it will be good for is opening doors...lol. Oh well. I learned my lesson. I live in New Brunswick Canada and doubt anyone around here would have the equipment or knowledge to program the blank ebay key for me. SO i may not have any choice but to pay the stupid amount of money BMW wants for a new keyfob. Thanks again for your help and clarification. I had a feeling it was not going to be so easy..cheers

I have heard rumors of a guy who could cut BMW keys about 30 minutes away from where i live but have had no luck finding his name etc. I will keep trying. For now I am just waiting for the few VL2020's to arrive so i can attempt to replace battery again and close the case and pray i am able to program to car again. It actually worked last time but the bloody thing was in the wrong spot. So i am hopeful that i did not short anything out etc. I can still start the car but just not use the keyfob to lock or unlock at this point. So fingers crossed i am able to solder the new battery when it arrives and program and be done with this for now. Been slowly bringing a 2004 320i back to life. I got a good deal on it...body was in real good shape with basically one little rust buble and that's it...I replaced every thing you can imagine to make sure i had a good reliable car for a summer toy.New OEM fuel pump, new filter, new Bosch ignition coils, replaced valve cover gasket, just purchased new water pump with metal impeller as i heard they put garbage pumps from the factory with plastic impeller.. I also put fresh oil in her and have a few minor electrical issues to fix then I am done. I love the car and so far ended up not spending very much in the big picture so as long as i can actually use the key to start the car it's will have to do for now...lol. It's parked for winter at the moment so I am just doing as much research as possible until i can start working on it again. I purchased it as a Christmas gift to myself...lol. And my father always loved BMW's and could never afford one so as he is battling a few health issues I kind of wanted to surprise him with this and hopefully go on a few road trips before i loose him. Anyways. Sorry for rambling on. And thanks again for your advice sir. Cheers

I had my car at a German only garage and they gave it a once over and was told it was in excellent condition front end wise, shock wise etc. So only have a few things left to cross off the list. what the hell is a GREYED out box. I have 3 greyed out boxes in ABS. x2 front left and 1 left rear. Those sensors have just been replaced. I hd just changed all 4 ABS sensors as they were all damaged. Broken wires. now 2 are greyed out but the front has 2 code on the left.07{007} + 21{033} ... can you please advise. Furthermore! My EWS has done over 159k KMS more than my IKE which is at 196000 odd. Can this be changed in PA....
@@cataha IKE and EWS has to have same Vin Number, once that condition meet then whichever module has more miles/kilometers then it will pass it on to all others IKE/EWS/LCM/Ect.... For some odd reason. The EWS has the highest mileage. The IKE displays the lowest and LCM has the same as the IKE. I do not understand why the data did not update accordingly. sad... oh well... I will recharge laptop and reread the codes again tomorrow. I fin d it odd that I may have installed defective sensors but I do have the Traction control light on and the ABS light. so you maybe right about the module. I have INPA but its very problamtic installing this on the laptop. Its a real basterd to install. Cable has problem with the car itself. i just gave up and PA is the only way forward right now.

on my e46 i get p1640 eeprom error code.checksum drifty. I s it possible to rewrite eeprom with data from another e46 ecu? do you have this data ?
