Last Video: Kande Island Underwater Footage • Kande Island Lake Mala...
We counted around 55 Saulosi in a 10/15 minute survey of the reef (Not the whole reef) We did lose a few fry along the way but we estimated 92 fry were released.
For more info regarding the fry release and dwindling numbers of Pseudotropheus Saulosi please visit the following link;

Great to see people helping maintain the cichlid populations in the lakes of Africa!
Sweet vid Marc. The lake looked much clearer in this vid. Glad to see people trying to make a change for the lake. Your the man.
Taiwanee Reef is submerged, around a 15m decent. Quite a strong current down there. We were near the top of the rocky out crops. No sand that high up to get kicked up.
Wow Marc that is an exceptional video, loved it! It must have been great to see that first hand. Thanks for taking the time to share with us.
PS I don't know how anyone could give this video a thumbs down, maybe jealous people
Really, really cool Marc!!!!!!! Must have been an incredible experience....
Really great footage Marc !!! Nobody with a malawi tank can beat this and such a great thing to be involved in :)

Brilliant video! Did you check the temp of the lake and if so what was it? Thanks!
Great video Marc.
Thank you Andy
Great! Had no idea there was a reintroduction program going on! Is this a common thing? Any ideas how you could get involved in this? Wouldn't mind volunteering for next holiday, got my diving licenses ect
What are the others cichlids with spots on its body?
Am supposed to be doing a water change right now. Great footage.

I wonder how is the situation now in 2021. Did they rebound?
Just awesome
Thanks for watching Marcus
BRilliant work
Love what u guys r doing but how many gets eaten up by bigger fish....
What do you think guys, can i keep Ps. Saulosi in 250liters ?
Why are there numbers going down? Over collecting? Introduced predators?
Will they survive, because of the pressure?
The release, such a cool thing to see, great job everyone.
Thank you for watching
*mbuna fry*
"Hey steve check this place out bro"
"Ya way bigger than that other tank"
Great job helping out this fish by reintroducing it back into lake malawi.
Totally awesome !!
It sure was ;)
Awesome video! Why does it take so long for them to release the fish?
It's a very long distance from where they're bred lake side, Kambiri Point, southern arm of Senga Bay. Also the releases need to be documented. The Saulosi already on the reef and those being released are recorded.
Is this artificial lake or lake Malawi itself?
Greate jobb....
very nice
that is really awesome
This is something I really like to see, it is hands on and trying to do something. Unfortunately I do not believe it will do much to change anything. I still love the effort and seeing it. All the best!
Are those yellow lab fry?
No, they're Saulosi
Best video ever
Glad you enjoyed it!
Will be nice if they can do this to lake tanganyika too. For certain endangered cichlid species
Maybe use a bucket next time ;) Good job there guys!
I was expecting to see a few hundred being restocked into the lake. Do half even survive to breed?
Unfortunately a few hundred were lost over the winter period
Can you get fish shipped from africa ?
Wild caughts are pretty common in the hobby. Run a quick google search and youll find plenty for sale
Very cool man
Thank you for watching.
another class video
14:19 bottom of rock where they're releasing the fry, one gets eaten.
beastmode hope it makes a change for the lake
We hope so too. Thanks for watching.
What was the semi circle at the reef?
Do you have a time in the video Adam?
+African Cichlid Hub hi yes 10:41 they were on the rocks as well
Cichlid poop.
A like for you guys for protecting, re inhabiting a vulnerable species....and more for educating fellow hobbyists. It would be nice if people refuse to buy wild caught endangered species and professional breeders to come forward to save them.😀😀
Those saulosi can enjoy in the worlds largest aquarium finally.LoL..AWESOME job man.
Very true, let's hope they live a great life and we get to see them multiply.
Why Release ? because Saulosi empty in Taiwanee reef ?
Check the video description for links that will explain. Thank you
I think whatever we do to help nature it doesnt make a big difference bcoz the nature alters itself...its like a video game once u die u respawn, it happens in the nature...
my country :)
Should of acclimate them first and never mix the water in the bag with the lake.
Sushi Prince the breeding tubs are directly connected to the lake, the water from the lake is pumped into the tubs
Вылавливали тысячами в день, чтоб нажиться на продаже, а выпустили несколько десятков.
saw tons of dead baby cichlids
Maybe we baby our fish in the hobby a little too much but that looked like a stressful release in places to me. A lot of bag flapping and stressed fish. :( That said, I've not released any fish in a crocodile infested lake in scuba gear!
It's not every day you get to practise releasing fish from bags at around 15m deep under a lot of water pressure.
