I got a crazy ideal , why don’t you guys go out & buy the most stickiest & strongest velcro you can & skate a board with only Velcro trucks , no bolts holding the trucks on the board just velcro , see what ya,ll can do , they do make velcro that can hold 15 pounds & over see what you can find out there . Velcro game of skate .
Awesome idea I’d love to see this
second this 👍 brilliant idea 😊
Amazing idea !!!!
If they put velcro all over the deck, you can put the trucks anywhere, too! Offence sets the trick AND truck placement
I wanna see this
The best thing about this video is that it became another Derek persistence video. I’m cheering for you Derek. Let’s go!!! 👊
If Derek didnt keep kicking his back leg out he'd be landing them 90% of the time.
Was trying to look for a comment like this I saw it too, if he pulls his back leg straight up instead of out he would be landing almost everything
that and he needs to pull his legs UP, bend those knees.
Was looking for this comment. It’s like he’s trying to switch flip. Weird no one corrected this live.
Not at all
He kicks the board forward too far as well, so it’s not underneath him when he lands
As someone living at the end of a long dirt road, with no paved driveway, all close roads rough, cracked, and full of potholes, and the nearest skatepark over 40 minutes away...this is actually pretty tempting! Just being able to practice tricks in my house or on my cobblestone patio, instead of having to drive somewhere just to get to some decent flatground, sounds pretty sick! Interesting product for sure.
Git yer concrete on!!!
Buy 4 sheets of plywood. That'd give you 16' x 8' to skate
Dang bro where do you live? You make it sound like you live in the middle of nowhere. But yeah get it man, whatever works for you
This will never help you skate, because you don’t stand still when you skate. You’re better off buying plywood or building your own concrete slab or just finding a road and curb or just a parking lot…
@IR You aren't wrong! Lucky for me, they built a great skatepark recently not far from me! I was unaware it was under construction. I already learned to skate decades ago. This would've just been a very poor, but welcome, replacement for practicing flip tricks. I used to live where there were paved roads and it was just far easier to go practice on a whim simply by stepping outside. So, I won't be needing a product like this. Still miss having a flat, paved driveway though.
I love how this went from a Walmart Flybar video to another Derek Kickflip challenge lol
The love you all show for one another is really great to see.
I absolutely love all the support you guys show each other!
Great to learn to drop in too, Gabe. 😁 I'll bet Derrick can Kickflip Switch the way his back foot kicks out.
not rlly tf
Honestly I’m not sure why they keep feeling him he’s leaning too much back.. it’s not the lean back it’s his back foot he keeps kicking back further then his front foot 😂 it’s also the reason he keeps hitting his left ankle.. cuz he kicks it so far back and try’s to get it back on in time but can’t… I agree try it switch Derek!!!
12:39 why is no one telling Derrick to not flick out his back leg. Just bend at the knee, and lift in front not to the side because he’s not bringing his foot back in time to land on the board
it pains me everytime he attempts to kick flip and then launches his back foot into oblivion every time
(Note to self - kickflip backleg).
same@@gani1492
That’s what I said, that’s why his timing is off
For me living in canada you can only really skate outside half the year. So balance board would be nice to work on when its 40 below and the soft trucks are pretty sweet, just put it on a rug and skate inside while watching tv or what ever
I recommend a deck with no trucks and a 3 liter bottle. Best Balance board
@@brailleskateboarding 3 liter+deck is fine for balance but this thing would def be helpful when first learning ollies and kick/heel flips and great for practicing on carpet in winter(k flips, switch tricks, certain varials). But I suppose you could also just order some "Softrucks" and install them on a better deck (though you guys didnt like softrucks either).
If your ever watching braille at night and keep falling asleep you can always count on Aron or gabe to wake you up by going "whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!" In the mic , pretty helpful honestly
If nothing else, Aaron has the heartiest, genuine, most infectious laugh! hahaha Always love Braille videos
he is going senile
I think this would be very helpful for beginners like myself, the main fear when learning to skateboard is falling and hurting oneself. At least it is for me and with this board you know it isn't going to roll out from under you like it would with wheels. Much easier to catch yourself.
Maybe but after youd still need to buy a board, it gets expensive. One thing im wokring on with my skating is knowing how big my progress jumps should be. for example im practicing ollying down stairs and its going slow because each stair i ollie down is only a tiny bit bigger than the last one, and i should just accept the fear instead. For this board, i think skipping to a normal board but maybe starting in grass or with somebody holding your hands is better+cheaper
@@clethtinthiallor9179 true but you could also be like me who built a custom board and still haven’t learned years later because you’re afraid of falling lol. Both have their pros and cons and with this you can still skate with it albeit it’d not as sturdy
I would recommend getting skater trainers and putting them on a real board, it completely stops your wheels from moving and with that you don't have to deal with cheap construction of boards like Flybar, Wal-Mart, etc. because the cheap quality will make it harder to learn.
I know you'll get it someday soon Derek! We believe in you! 💜
its been 9 years since i was on a skateboard watching you video's has me wanting to get back into it. i got a compete yesterday. thank you
That's awesome!
Dude I haven’t touched a skateboard in 20 years since I was in high school and am thinking about getting a deck lol.
@@grizzlywhisker do it
the balance roller helps with your center of balance constantly shifting which can translate to all sorts of things not just skateboarding.
so it can be use for normal workout?
I love Darrek!!! Make him a main. Wanna see his journey so bad
This is like must have board for total beginners lol. Awesome how you people did so many trick on it, still waiting on Derek!
Kind of a bummer to see the boys not down with the thing. I work from home and it would be kinda fun to throw down a few flip tricks while I'm stewing on some work assignments. My regular setup super loud and a heavy for indoors.
Been a long time fan of the channel for a while. I haven't watched in a bit and this is the first video I've watched in a while but I got to say I like that. Derek guy as a new addition to the team
Why he look like the Wolverine in the thumbnail? 😂
I'm so invested in Derek's progress right now its crazy! Shin gaurds bro!
Derek rules. Kickflip video coming soon
I have the best tip for landing an initial kickflip/heelfliip.. Hold onto a wasteline fence and push yourself upwards using your arms while you flip the board and learn to catch it with your feet. Once you get the feeling of catching the flip it becomes less scary to try to land one without holding onto a fence/rail.
If you just covered your base with velcro, then you could space the trucks in all sorts of funky spots.
What I like about this is that somebody surely has been seeing balancing video's and thought to make a product out of it, and possibly one you can train on indoors on a rug without demolishing your room with a rocketing skateboard (might still be loud and/or damage the floor tho). It also makes you able to practice a bit without rolling off but square rubber wheels would be able to do that as well and possibly be cheaper to make than this whole Velcro contraption (not sure if existing but it may even be something to explore as trainers, not talking about the square casings but regular square (soft) rubber wheels for indoor training), balancing can be done on any hard type of cylinder. It makes sense that there is a run on these just for the idea, specifically with winter on the doorstep and not a lot of time outside in many countries.
JD at the end was incredibly sick. He should do a part of pure street steez.
im back to skate after 10 years, and this product caught my atention, currently im practicing skate on a rug, it brings more confidence to land the kickflips, and im using a bottle and a old shape as a balance board, so its cool... unfortunatly its not being sold in brazil... ps sorry for my bad english, im brazilian hehe
Braille blessing me with an extra of daily laughter
You can clean Velcro with a brush, the real issue is the soft part wearing out n becoming loose, but you can replace it with same techniques as grip tape
The stop in Balance boards simulates the trucks is what I've always thought but the 2 or 3 liter works great and is much cheaper
JD just keeps on progressing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You guys are too funny! I like the vibe over there
Woah this is the first video I've watched since like 2021 and JD is like a grown man now, not a phenom kid 😂😂
I saw this on revives channel and I know you guys are gonna take it to the next level 🤣👌compliment me more 😂 JD lit a fire 🔥 love braille ❤
This is revolutionary.
Best part watching Derek kickflip!
I remember learning my first kickflip and being stuck for so long on that last step of committing to putting your back foot on. Heelflips were the first flip trick I learned and once i got kickflips, I completely lost heelflips lol
Ayyyye JD with the kickflip at the end was fire
I saw this at Walmart, and was hoping you guys would do a review,
at the beginning of him trying to kick flip I was thinking I couldn't kick flip when I started skating but I could heal flip. Just like this guy. Just felt more natural and logical to me.
why is ricky being such a hater though? balance boards may not train you for skating but they have a huge effect on your core strength, which is going to help you in EVERY aspect of skating
That thing sucks a lot at the end was hilarious, go boys go!!!
It's great to see Tom Green back in the public eye spending valuable time with his sons. 👋
balance trainers help with balance during board slides and various grinds
That dude’s smile is so great
That kickflip was hype. The system works
14:49 great sound bite😂
THAT BOARD IS VERY INIVATIVE. DERRICK ALMOST HAS THOSE KICKFLIPS DOWN. I LIKE TO SEE THE STRUGGLE. SOMETIMES US SKATERS FEEL LIKE IT WILL BE TOO HARD, BUT WE ALWAYS KEEP TRYING AND GET THERE EVENTUALLY. US SKATERS ARE TOUGH, HARDCORE, AND PERSISTENT.
looks like a nice little piece of shelving
I want one of these now. Not gonna lie. This video made me want this.
Don’t feel bad Derrick. Many years of skating and I still do that to my shins and ankles when trying kick flips. Some people just not meant to flick.
dude is LOVING the Velcro
It is nice
I’m like Derek. I learned to heel flip before I could kick flip. I see you, brother!
Balance boards actually just help you build stabilizer muscles not really to help any specific form of skating but more like a overall tuneup for your body.
helps balancing boardslides, at least it´s very simular to long boardslides with a snowboard.
great point! @@Thor555555
derricks' back leg going backward is kinda funny
why do only you guys do this I mean braille pretty much the brand that almost had me give up on skateboarding...
Its wild to see someone else struggle with kickflips the way i do.
Ive had to relearn them 3 times, and every last one of them is this same exact battle.
Ive also always gotten heelflips way easier. Could do them for literally a year before i got my first kickflip
Let's go Derrick!
You guys inspired us to create a skate channel! We love your videos! Do you have any tips for making a skate channel?
Be consistent in your uploads, create a community where you care about the audience, you do this for them as much as for you!
i was so invested in that kickflip
9:10 to prevent it from sliding velcro doesnt have the best sliding retention and for easy alignment
That clip at 14:40 is gold for a motivational montage
Watching Braille on 15% volume to save my ears XD
i always had that i could only heelflip and then one time on my street board with rizer pads and big longboard wheels i could do them
Saw covers that are square that go over the wheels . That stop it from rolling
A piece of PVC pipe cut to fit and a piece of lumber and you have this balance board. Used to have one back 30 years ago.
I think they need to do velcro on the bottom of thier shoes and the top of the board, then do grabs off the stairs.
get some ausctoic foam pads and put them on some walls even like 1 % coverage should stop the echo.
I ❤ Braille Skateboarding
wow! I really want to do the Ollie so bad. I keep trying and trying but nothing. i dont want to give up but i just might have to.
Well, I love the idea
Teach Derrick to do a body varial it may be easier way to get him used to it before eventually just tells him Ollie and slide the front toe off at an angle. That’s how I learned.
Nice
Try getting Derek to land with just his back foot, he's got the front foot down, I think he's fighting the muscle memory of his back foot not landing on the board, helped me! ✌
I’m kind of the same it’s weird I struggle with kick flips but I find heel flip and even 360 flip easier.
My first tine watching in a few years. Is Nigel and the guy with all the tattoos still there?
that looks fun!
The future of trucks right there some form of independant axle / stub axle / three-quarter floating axle
Unlike a lot of skateboard technology it would be cool and most people already get that axles don't need to be a straight shaft nowadays with dune buggys/DPVs/FAVs/Light Strike Vehicles or whatever they call them nowdays.
I got this video as a suggestion and realized that I haven't watched you guys since 2019😂👍
18:40 JD has found a new set-up to take him to the next level
When I first saw it, I thought you were meant to attach your trucks to the trick trainer, and then use that lmao. It doesn't make sense, cause as I expand on it it gets less and less realistic but when he pointed out the curve on the truck things, I instantly thought it was to help lock onto rails. If you add trucks then the curve won't touch though sooooo. I'm less than sober don't mind me
How about just make wheels that lock on the axle and don’t spin as trainers?
That shove it on the balance board was actually sick 😂
Do Velcro grip with Velcro shoes vid. (Prickly Velcro grip, soft Velcro shoes.) Also, then. Oils you try to skate the deck with normal shoes? :)
Dude.. Derrick trying to kickflip is like those reverse OCD videos where the target never hits the center. 😭 I wanted him to land it so badly in every video he’s featured in for kickflips
He’s going to have it on lock soo soon
Hey guys - the silhoette in your current profile picture would make an awesome logo!
Just saying.
Also, video's dope as always
You guys need the titans of cnc aluminum deck they made
I don't know anything about this product, or these people, and I don't skate.. but I got so invested into Derek making that kickflip. rofl
Same
Tjis actually to mee is the best kinda "training for skating" if you are into that sort of thing, i just practiced on my skateboard
Same
This thing is actually legit. It helps to understand technique without falling and getting hurt
Ricky should grind just the board and have the wheels waiting at the bottom of the rail and try to land on the wheels, that'd be epic 😂
This is perfect for ASMR Velcro peeling.
Yooo me and Derek are the same fr. I can only heel flip as well lol it was the first trick I landed. Second trick I landed was I think a dolphin flip. First half of a kick flip but then catch the lip with your toes and kick the board in a 180. Might also be a hospital flip. I can't remember what it's called.
Can you make velcro bottom
Shoes and use the wheel part on that it'd be siiick
Every week I'm at Walmart I keep checking for a braille board to magically appear 😅 but I did see this junk deck thing and laughed myself lol
I wish I could smell the riser pads
Anybody catch the ghost train 👻 13:31
I feel like before skating became widely accessible, innovations like these are a big part of what kept skating cool and novel…
…at least in the Midwest people had a hodgepodge of extreme sports, since it’s mostly dirt roads it’s such a treat to get to find skate-able spots
The balance board should build confidence for people who need to learn how to drop in as well
When Derek lands his kick flip Gabe must drop in on the vert.
JO i love this part 5:03
You guys should make one with bigmagnet
“Derek I’m sick of your games” 😂
