    They shouldnt complain, thats only like $13 an hour for your skill, beads, and coordinating all the work. Youre amazing

    I’ve been bead working most of my life…mostly selling to friends & family and a few craft shows along the way…though most of it went away as gifts. Like you, I always found it hard to charge what I felt like my work was worth. It IS so very time consuming! People always gave shocking reactions when hearing what I wanted for my work. Thank you for being so open and candid. You have given me a newfound motivation (and ideas) to start beading for profit again. However, it’s much more challenging now that I’m much older and half blind, with dwindling patience. 😂

      I used to feel very awkward when telling people my prices and have had people (even very wealthy people) gawk at my prices. But when it comes down to it, this work is tedious, hard on my back and hands, takes time away from my family, and I’m making less than $20 an hour. I’ve done this for almost 5 years now and can fortunately pick and choose who I accept orders from and I always have a waiting list. This is not my primary job so I only accept a small number of orders and they know the wait time is very long!

    Those are DEFINITELY fair prices considering the cost of supplies and the work involved in your crafts. Your work is beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing your videos and I hope to see more.

      Thank you for watching! It is so time consuming and meticulous, I don't even want to break it down to see what I am making per hour!

    How do you measure the bead length? Love your videos. I do leatherwork and I've been asked several times if I do beading and now soon I will be able to offer this to them. Thank you!!

      It just depends. The bead length depends on the belt measurement of the person I'm making it for. Thanks for watching!

    What kind of software do you use for the beading patterns?

    I need help. It's my first belt. I've made it too short and don't have enough time to start over. How do I make it longer or is it possible???

      You could finish that piece and make another piece to lay by it, then inlay them both. Not sure of a way to actually add on after a piece is finished…not sure it can be done.

      Thank you for the offer, but I honestly don’t do too many projects. I just squeeze them in in my spare time and my clients don’t mind the long wait.

    Do you offer any warranty if something happens to your heading? Wondering how you handle this.

    • @ranchwifelife4041
      @ranchwifelife4041  Před rokem

      I do not offer a warranty, however, if any of my pieces started falling apart from normal wear and tear I would build another one. I have a lot of confidence in my work and in 5 years have not had any pieces come apart. Once, a bead was broken in the shipping process and we offered a $50 refund or to rebuild the whole piece, they chose the $50 (thank goodness)!

      My leather partner, Mile High Supply, does all the leatherwork for me. I create the beadstrips and mail them to her. She finishes them and sends to the client. You can find her on Instagram or Etsy by searching Mile High Supply. She does beautiful work!

    Pricing is never an easy calculation. The time you take can vary depending on experience. a mediocre speed should still account for roughly $25+ an hour. The issue is what others are charging. I don't know why some people are working on a $5/hr wage.

    I do small beading on bracelets with a loom. But I'm buying beads 1 tube at a time. The tube are 7.5 grams each. Do you buy in bulk and if so would you please share the place with me. Thank you so much for all the information in each of your videos.

      I buy in bulk from Golden Age Beads. Great quality and better customer service!
