She is singing Je t'aime ( I love you) and crowd is singing on t'aime (we love you). This was agreed with pianist that crowd will start singing first to surprise Lara.
Hard to top your audience singing 'We love you' over the actual lyrics 'I love you' TO Lara when she was in a bad place. She attempted to sing "I love you" back to her adoring audience. Tear jerker scale 10/10. The Queen needed a boost and her army delivered it to her.

Lara sings "I love you" but crowd singing back to her "we love you (Lara)"
She was asked a few years ago what her most memorable performances were. She said that her duet with Johnny Hallyday was one, another duet with, I think, a Belgian singer was another. But at the top of her list was this concert, this song in particular I think.

You're right. Many times we don't have to fully understand a language to understand a song. Lara is a Master of conveying the feeling of a song regardless of the language in which she is singing.
I would encourage you, though, to listen to this again with the English subtitles. The places where she gets especially choked up are quite telling.
At the end of the first chorus, which lists different ways one can love, she can't even finish the phrase: "Tu vois, je t'aime comme ca" (You see, I love you like that).
Then at the beginning of the third verse (she leans forward and gestures to the audience) she sings "D'accord je t'ai confie tous mes sourires, tous mes secrets" (I admit, I confided in you all my smiles, all my secrets).
I'd suggest that in the future you always choose videos with English subtitles. Even if you don't use them you might have viewers who would really like to know what is being said.
The whole concert was a love fest between Lara and her fans. They knew Lara was facing hard times and professional times and they wanted to show support. This song was the climax of this support and as PB said they prepared a surprise for her.
I love how she managed the situation , leaving room for them to sing and singing herself around, establishing a wonderful dialog. It says a lot about her as a human being.

But as a next reaction I would really love you to discover her rock side. In this duet with french rocker legend Johnny czcams.com/video/dvci-hKyxl4/video.html, she destroys a 80,000 stadium with her vocal power. Epic performance under the rain, very dramatic.
Legendary in all french speaking countries, considered as one of the best duets that was ever performed.

Eric, j'espère juste que toutes les "merdes" qui l'ont conspuée voient cette vidéo. Ils se rendraient vite compte que "l'autre" qu'ils ont tant admirée voire vénérée n'a jamais et n'aura jamais autant de reconnaissance que Lara ce soir là. J'ai eu la très grande chance de voir Lara en concert une fois dans ma vie en France et, à ce jour, est un souvenir à la fois mémorable et intemporel. No hate, comme disent certains mais une chose est sûre, c'est que Lara avait très largement sa place dans les immenses stars des années 90 et 2000. Finalement, quand on voit comment les autres ont tourné, il vaut mieux que les choses se soient passées ainsi...
@@conscienceetintuition9350 en effet. Et elle est toujours aussi spectaculaire en concert: va voir la chaîne “Lara The Ring Fabian” et tu pourras voir les concerts qu’elle a données au Québec ces jours derniers. Elle sera de tournée en France en octobre et j’irai la voir.

I can see from some of the comments you've gotten that people mix some things up a bit.
At this concert, it is quite spontaneous for the audience to start singing.
At a previous concert where they have agreed with the pianist to surprise Lara, new lyrics had been written for the song, probably shown by the lady in the yellow T-shirt in this clip.

It's from the concert where Lara was feeling really bad where she was about to give up her career. This concert made her realize that she had really dedicated fans, coming out of her depression. Today, she calls her fans ANGELS.
