- Couple people have asked how I've been dying my last couple leather projects. Thought I'd put together a quick video showing how. The results have a nice textural pattern that looks natural and elegant.

I've used a misting bottle, like one would use to mist plants; as well. Kind of like using an airbrush. Pull the trigger and get a 3-5;sec mist. you can get some pretty interesting effects from different angles , distance and overlaying colors
Wow! That's so much better than a lot of the other methods I've seen - I haven't done any leather work yet but all the methods I've seen for dyeing look really splotchy and not beginner friendly at all but this looks so even and simple!
Good deal!
as to a good spray bottle i have used a garden spray bottle, i buy at home depot for plants
i have to use the for a lot of things too the longest-lasting bottles i have to have used them as a paint bottles too
So pretty, and it gives me ideas ..
Thank you, awesome.
For better spray I recommend the trigger style spray bottles like for Windex. You can get clean ones at the dollar tree usually. I'm gonna have to try this sometime when it warms up in my area.
Thanks, yeah the bigger bottles work great. Quicker, but may be a tad harder to work up the lighter spots.
Good idea for someone that does not have an airbrush.
I actually prefer this (if I'm not doing a faded color). The dye penetrates better and has a nice marbling effect. Virtually no cleanup compared to an air brush also.
Neat. Thank you. What colour green is that? CHEERS!
Thanks, it's eco flow green, and forest green.
Thank you!! Are you using a water-based dye? I use Feibings pro dye, can I still use this method?
Hi, yes I'm using a water based dye. I haven't tried it with the pro dye yet. I'm assuming it should work fine. However, you may want to look into whether or not you would want to get some ventilation going.
1 part / 6 part
1 part dye/ 6 part water or other way round?
1 part water it shows right at the beginning of video. 🤘
Interesting idea. What dye are you using?
Thanks, it's eco flow green, and forest green.
