As a counseling psychology student, this is the clearest and complete introduction to Gestalt Therapy I've ever heard. Thanks!
@@seanchen4439 honoured for your feedback - thank you so much.
After 30 years, I finally started therapy and I was assigned to a Gestalt therapist. I never looked for its theoretical basis, but I found this video and it made me think a lot. Thank you so much for sharing this! And I would like to add, that it would be great to listen to more in-depth theory explained by you!
Greetings from Vienna!
I am glad this was useful, more in-depth videos pending!:)

Using Gloria's therapy session with Fritz Perls, what could it be a good example of the topdog/underdog technique? i feel like i'm confusing it with the two-chair techique
Hi Amber, I have used alternating and potenitally the wrong terms, I should have said "empty chair" and thus, top dog / under dog polarities are played out and experimented with using two chairs. Sorry for the confusion. I do intend to make another video on this, and the empty chair - which can be used for so many things, parts, polarities, others, projections, etc etc.
There is a video of Fritz Perls doing the two chair method on CZcams. I will see if I can find it again but I remember that he is in a room of many younger (potentially college age) people

Hi :) could you recommend a good book or textbook on Gestalt
Honestly, there are too many to mention. The seminal work is "Gestalt Therapy, Excitement, Growth and the Human Potential by Perls, Hefferline and Goodman."
