Jonathan Haidt, a very prominent social psychologist in the US found that certain social media usage, especially among girls, was directly and causally related to depression. These apps do more damage to girls than we can possibly imagine. I'm a man and I got rid of social media about 7 months ago and have been clean since. In fact, I have no desire to go back on it but I can only imagine what it does to girls because it seems to draw them in and influence them more.

I believe Muslim women go through phases. They will eventually come back if they dont it's what God wanted. The thing is each women must have a root reason as to though why they wear it. Yes it's a visual representation that this is a Muslim women and is obligatory. Let's not forget that God blessed ever human being with free will and free morality the choice to believe what they want. I too had periods of removing it and being a part time hjiabi but slowly I found a reason why I'll keep it on. Even my own family whose muslim wants me to take it off saying I'm going to lose my hair and it's for older woman. I would of faulted if I heard this statement back then but now I have more confidence to keep it on😊

Aslam aleykoum ! i wanted to tell you this : dont 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 your sin (s) , because when you reveal your sin (s) you are taking away the cover of Allah off. heres a hadith of the prophet (s.a.w) : ¨I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying. "All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except those of the Mujahirin (those who commit a sin openly or disclose their sins to the people). An example of such disclosure is that a person commits a sin at night and though Allah screens it from the public, then he comes in the morning, and says, 'O so-and-so, I did such-and-such (evil) deed yesterday,' though he spent his night screened by his Lord (none knowing about his sin) and in the morning he removes Allah's screen from himself." so sins , ar - Rasul (s.a.w) tells us dont expose your sin (s) out of happiness and even dont expose them , if there is 𝗻𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 to expose them . because it gives other people the idea . I stopped posting on social media, I wiped it clean, I've always been struggling with my hijab since I first converted when I was 12,, I am yet to wear it full time but social media is one of the things that both made me not want to wear it and want to wear it, but outside influences as well I.e my family is why I don't wear it. What you surround yourself with is what you'll gravitate towards more

@@woah5985 I mean it depends on what side of social media you're on. If my feed is filled with people who wear proper hijab I'm more inclined to want to wear it. But when I'm on the side of vulgar music and trends and what's popular even hijabis on that side make me feel more tied to this dunya and when I dress trendy in a hijab in my non islam household they tell me its better if I take it off, the hijabi women on the mainstream side of social media eventually take theirs off too so I felt like it wasn't a bad thing to do. Try your hardest to remain steadfast and seek Allah's SWT pleasure over pleasing others in the worldly life. Abu Qatadah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, you will never leave anything for the sake of Allah Almighty but that Allah will replace it with something better for you.” I advise myself of this also. One aspect of wearing / taking off hijab:
With hijab, our sisters present themselves as Muslim, in times of pressure from the majority society. It's easy to say: "You need stronger iman, or so."
At the same time, the brothers are not so conspicuous. More balance is needed.

Here’s my observation: It’s because beautiful women (whether it be Muslim or non-Muslim) who don’t cover usually get the most attention on social media. Everyone says “mashallah” or “beautiful” even to the beautiful Muslim woman who’s not wearing hijab while a hijabi woman who’s trying her best gets ostracized left and right in the comment section. It’s already hard to be a Muslim in the west while on top of that, you’re being yelled at from random aunties and online trolls for not wearing the hijab correctly. All women deserve love and affection but if a woman does not receive any positive affirmations, then it’s a higher chance for them to go to the wrong way. It is what it is and our community is not helping at all. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But lets not forget that some parents do whatever they want, and then are very cruel and abusive towards children, and sadly they bring islam into it and claim they do it in religion name. Astagfirullah. Even tho islam is perfect, and Muhamad saw was loving, caring, patient HUSBAND AND FATHER. instead of following his example they become cruel and abusive. Dani Haqiqatoju and this brother are like that. They need to follow prophetic example and be kind and caring towards family.
