01:47 Young Dolly sings - Zábava
My Mom grew up poor just like Dolly did. The one thing she liked the most about Dolly was the fact that Dolly NEVER forgot where she came from. I feel the same way, too
yea, have u seen her house
I wonder if those kids that made fun of her for her Coat of Many Colors feel like schmucks.
@@TheRagingPlatypus hi i lov your name..😁
@@dancingtrout6719 Thanks
Dancing Trout is cool too.
I live in East Tennessee and she does so much for the area that is never nationally publicized. She absolutely established and continues to maintain this part of the state. An absolute force of nature.
just think if all the actors/athletes that complain about the poverty of where they came from, and then demand the government do something about it. imagine if they actually did the same as Dolly and poured their millions into improving those areas to give people jobs. instead, they move far away and just complain publicly about it without putting any of their own money into the problem.
@@joedoe6444 absolutely correct. 10000000%
@@joedoe6444 There are some who do that, but you’re mistaken if you think that’s how the vast majority of them are. Most of them quietly support tons of things to help people just like Dolly does. Not every moment of every celebrity’s life is spent seeking the lime light. Only some of them are narcissists like that. But it sure isn’t a good look on you running around in public pretending you know what you don’t know like this. You should do better yourself.
She should run for office. Maybe Governor.
@@1ACL I suspect she knows she can get a lot more done without being obligated to voters. A rich person whose not afraid to spend their money is a very effective person.
Lord who is talking over this gorgeous singing?
Nobody, it’s a silent movie. You can listen to DP all day.
@@JB-uv4hm
Me too. She’s a great singer
Bradley E. Reeves promises you can watch it all you want on his CZcams channel.
@@JB-uv4hm did you not eat when they played some of the sound. At 14 and cheap audio she still sounded great.
TV news people .. Swear they dislike or are jealous of musicians. Takes 10 minutes to find out if it will rain or not tomorrow too.
The voice is so special even at that early age. Dolly inherited a talent few are blessed to receive.
Thank you for sharing. So sweet, that voice! ♥️👍♥️
Dolly's voice at a young age was fantastic!
She sounded a bit like Brenda Lee at that point.
I’m a rock guy. But I’ve always loved Dolly. I actually own several of her albums. She does sing like an angel.
I'm a 70's rock guy too, but Dolly is one of the most talented entertainers ever. Singer, songwriter, musician, actress, she can do it all. And I've never heard anyone say a bad word about her. And her voice is something special, just gives me a good feeling hearing her sing or speak.
70 ROCK guy here too but the first time i heard 'Jolene" i was a Dolly fan
Dolly Parton can "rock" as good as anyone ! Case in point - that song "Nine to Five." Give it another listen !
Late 60s and 70s rocker girl here. Some talents transcend, like Dolly, Patsy Cline, kd lang, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson.
@@wendybutler1681 You threw out some icons. I’m mainly rock but I did get to see Johnny and also Willie a couple times in concert. I always wanted, but never got a chance to see Dolly
Dolly Parton is a living legend in America music history that will last Into eternity.
Dolly Parton is a national treasure. We need to cherish her now.
Even though she funded Moderna Poison?
She's still profiting from it. That's cool too?
@@TheKitchenerLeslie What's Moderna Poison ?
@@TheKitchenerLeslie What was Moderna Poison?
@@chairlesnicol672 They only have one product and it's their first.
She should be crowned Queen of Country for sure!!
why?
is that in question, or you just want an excuse to have a party?
@@wallacewilliams535 Party? A party for Dolly Parton? COUNT ME IN!!!!
Where I grew up, we lived about 10 miles from town. We had an outside antennae my Dad mounted on a cream separator, that the controls ran inside the house. That way, you didn't have to go outside and turn the antennae by hand. We got 1 station, PBS. But on Saturday night, we could get the early Porter Wagoner Chuck Wagon show, with 15/16 yo Dolly. What a trip. I just thought of that. Lol. Many moons ago.
She was born to be a star, talented, beautiful, charismatic & down to earth. No vulgarity just raw talent & I love her accent
Growing up in Los Angeles, California, thankfully I had a dad who appreciated all genres of music. We heard EVERYTHING in our house. Dolly Parton was one of those wonderful forces of nature that welcomed in happily, and even helped to form my musical self. She has always been one to bring a smile to your face and peace into your heart. With or without music, Dolly is the perfect ambassador of humanity. Love her always.
Nope she should never be the ambassador of humanity, she forfeited that right whenever she decided to slip off into adultery. She may be a great artist but not a great person
Loretta too!!
We just lost Queen Elizabeth II, who was a constant in our lives. Thankfully, we still have the Queen of Country Music -- may she live forever.
Wow! Dolly sounded fantastic at the young age of 14. One of the most popular country stars ever.
Definitely Dolly Parton's voice! Amazing that she could sing so strong and clear at that young age. We're all really lucky to have grown up in a time when we could see and hear her play and sing.
I live about two miles away from the Cas Walkers grocery store where she first performed at 13
Dolly really pioneered the way for women in country she was that bridge in what was a huge male dominated genre of music. I absolutely love her 💕🙌🏼
That would be Patsy cline
June Carter
Country music began with Sara and Maybelle Carter. Dolly would tell you that.
And Kitty Wells, Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, etc.
@@joshuaburba1048 Got to add Loretta Lynn in there!!!!
If more millionaires gave back to the community like Dolly has, this country would be in a far better place...
Her talent, and ability to remain so humble, are at once astonishing and admirable...
"The 550 U.S. billionaires together are worth $2.5 trillion. If we confiscated 100% of their wealth, we'd raise enough to run the federal government for less than eight months." They estimate they could eliminate homelessness for 25 to 30 billion. We have now sent over a 100 billion to Ukraine that up to 70% is "missing". Dolly has done well but she gave them a hand up for people willing to take it. Try that in Baltimore city or LA or Chiraq. Many have and all they got was empty pockets.
*Dolly is such a gift!* As beautiful and talented as she is _warm, kind, funny and generous!_ They don't come any better than Dolly!
OMG… when her voice came on… I got shivers down my spine. God bless u always, Dolly.
Yes, shivers
The lady who filmed this, Haroldine Worthington, worked in the office at Interstate Mechanical Contractors when I worked there from 1985-88. She lived on Cedar Lane in Fountain City. I never knew she did this.
Fountain City Indiana or where?
Fountain City Tennessee 👍🏻
In 1966 or 67 there was a musical show featuring Porter Wagner in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot Norton, Virginia. A lovely lady with a golden voice was introduced and this 10 year old boy was mesmerized. In 1968 I performed my first paid show and began a career that spanned five decades. Thank you Dolly Parton for the gentle touch and beaming smile you gave a young boy in a small town so long ago.
Dolly is one-of-a-kind, like J.S. Bach and Elvis. She will never be repeated.
Absolutely a beautiful Appalachian voice. Dolly is unique and is so great in so many ways.
It's a gift, Etta James skipped school one day and recorded her first song at about the same age.
She is the nicest lady too.
She has always been a all-time favorite of mine. She has apparently had that sweet voice since childhood. I hope she stays with us many more happy years yet.
talent like dolly"s only happens a few times in every generation. it is sorely missing today. i grew up listening to rock and roll, but i too love dolly. any one who wants
to be a famous country singer should learn from her. she is the best.
What a voice
Imagine waking up with that gift from above.
Would have loved to had them edit this so there was a long section of just Dolly as part of the overall video. And just hearing her singing without all of the non stop commentary.
It's a very short clip. Dolly's in it 30 seconds total.
Also, the sound doesn't come from the film. The film is silent.
Yeah we wanted to hear Dolly. The real Dolly.
what a voice, even then, and she sounds the same now... what a gift!!!
Always love the simple ones they snag. She's a legend!
What's so compelling to me is that Dolly still has that clarity of voice 60-plus years later. She cultivated and took care of her sound, her style, her "instrument", if you will. There are too many singers out there who let life in the fast lane take a toll on their talent, to the point they couldn't even perform that well as time wore on.
There is no defense to Love, it unites, all desire it, there is so much truth in it.
Have always loved Dolly, she is one of the most charming, bubbly and talented song writers and singers in Country Music ❤️💜♥️
Wow such a gorgeous voice at 14 years old.
Thank God for your gift from God that you share with the world.
Beautiful footage
I have always loved Dolly as long as back as I can remember and I'm 62 years old, Dolly has a special place in my heart and have always looked up to her.
Dolly always had such belief in herself over singing...She always knew she would go far and never gave up her dream. And never forgot where she came from.# We love you Dolly!👏👏👏👏🎶🎶
The lady is pure gold.
I lived near Knoxville and I clearly remember seeing Dolly as a young girl performing on the Cas Walker show ♥️♥️
I remember Dolly singing at WIVK n then at shows for motor homes. She was young also but we all knew Dolly would be great n make us so proud here at home
I remember seeing Dolly on The Porter Wagner Show and Cas Walker when I was a small child and visiting my grandparents. She always made quite an impression.
back when I lived in Wheeling Wv.
I remember a 17 year old unknown kid coming to town
to play in the Capitol music hall. all the greats played there.
anyway this 17 year old Tonya Tucker took the stage and blew em away
I think you mean Tanya Tucker, not Tonya.
Dolly is a wonderful human being.
Thank you for showing this!
Thank you so very much for sharing I love Dolly her brother is my best friend
Wow! Young Dolly had an amazing voice. She still does but that was unbelievable. Thank you for sharing that. ❤️Dolly!
I never honestly realized how talented this woman is. When I heard the 14 year old Dolly singing, it was a real eye-opener!
Thanks so much for sharing this!
14-year-old Dolly looks so lovely and innocent, and she sings so well, too.
These people were around even when we never heard of them...yet. I saw Roy Orbison in 1963 in Eau Claire, WI at the local high school gym and Ricky Nelson in a surprise visit to a local dance hall in 1962. My brother was a sax player who was in the local band and backed up Ricky and later played back up for one gig for Bobby V.
I'm always amazed at her amazing natural talent-truly a God given gift-John in Texas
The Gearhead2, remember watching Dolly on the Porter Wagner show! She was swinging in a red swing while she sang.
i remember hearing my grandmother and great grandmother talking about Caz Walker all the time. This was amazing! Thank you for sharing this 💜🙏🏽🕊️
Growing up I watched her on the Cas Walker TV show. When I was a freshman at Sevier County High she was a couple of grades behind me.

Unbelievable!!!
Dolly’s voice was so clear and beautiful!!!
Love Dolly and being almost 92 years old I have followed her for most of her career!!
Beautiful ! Also, Tanya Tucker was VERY young when she was belting out hit songs. But Dolly’s voice - wow.
Sweetest lady then and now!
People like Dolly are just born with it.
I was in a little Bluegrass band from Asheville, back in the 70's and we played Cas Walkers early morning radio show which aired live. Dolly's picture was on the wall and I thought she couldn't have been more than sixteen. She was a Natural Beauty.
Gosh I love this! So proud of our Dolly!
What a treat. Thank you!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing
Bringing tears to my eyes.
Just amazing. What a talent.
That voice......what else can I say.
She can just open her mouth and let it fly and its beautiful..love Dolly..love The Great Smokies.
