  • This video began as an effort to provide answers to a few questions that my friend, Henry from 9 Hole Reviews, had for an upcoming video. At then end though, I realized I had created a suitable stand alone video that I could post here on my channel. Enjoy.

In 2007, I trained with the GSG9. We did an assault and hostage recovery on a commercial aircraft. These guys are professional, well trained, and highly organized. A tier one group, and it was a pleasure to watch them work up close. I have three HK weapons, and I will continue to be a loyal customer of a company that produces the finest combat firearms in the world. I've learned so much through you, James, and I hope I have the opportunity to attend your MP5 operator course in the future.

    Hello James.
I'm new to your channel, but I recently felt nostalgic and decided that I needed to have an MP5 style weapon, because I used one when I was a Nightstalker.
I was not prepared for you to show a picture of my friend and colleague, "Wally" Cliff Wolcott. I knew Wally before they called him Elvis. That nickname came later.
Thank you for sending me down memory lane with your knowledge of the MP5 and by sharing the history of our SOF who used the MP5, as I did.
    Thank you.
    NSDQ!

My son's agency has MP5s in inventory. They issue and generally use M4s. Once a year he qualifies on the MP5. He isn't as good with it as he wants to be because, even at his own expense, they don't allow him to practice with it, even in preparation for that yearly qualification. That said he does very well with it, partly because growing up, I taught him to be a shooter and partly because of what a fantastic gun the MP5 is.

I recently bought an MKE AP5-M, which was my introduction to the MP5/K variant! I absolutely love it, its an amazing weapon and incredibly enjoyable and fun to shoot. But while watching this video I cant help but notice how much nicer and cleaner the finish is on your authentic HK. It looks so much better its unreal. I dont know if I'd be willing to spend the extra money for that level of detail just yet but theres no mistaking the quality and attention to detail HK puts into their manufacturing. Either way, these guns are awesome. ARs are fun but these things are so iconic and they're also like legos for adults.

After much thought I ended up going with the SP5 Navy and a B&T APC9K pro. I felt that provided everything I’d want/need for most 9mm situations and quench my thirst for nostalgia. What would make the HK’s more competitive in modern subgun debates would be a flared magwell and a last round bolt hold open (which we wouldn’t care to mention if not for the NFA).. perhaps more than that would be increased availability, a cost below msrp, and customer service and a social media stance that isn’t saturated with snobbery (although entertaining). Eventually I’d probably like a sp5k model also, but it’s way down on the priority list.

Again thank you for the videos. I’ve learned alot from you!
Another question? In the past you supported MKE products. Do you still think they are good products if I can’t afford an H&K SP5’s? Are they close to H&K quality? And are there some areas with the MKE that needs to be upgraded to a German part?

I have a question. As a civilian I own an SP5, AP5, and PTR9. Since I can’t “own” an MP5 but I own a binary trigger group that will simulate a 2 round burst, (I guess), have you ever shot one? And if so is it similar to a 2 round burst?
Thank you for your videos and time!

@@teufelshundtactical I won it already installed in the original SP5 trigger housing. So I bought an extra trigger housing and put the binary trigger in a different housing and put the original H&K trigger pack in the original housing since I considered it legendary and wanted my gun to be original from the factory. Then I could put the binary group in another housing but also keep the original group as is from the factory.

I don't like the peep sight drum on the K model at all. It should be a close range point shoot weapon like a pistol with full visual range. HK got it right the first time but everyone wants to add the wrong part for the wrong tool.

    • @teufelshundtactical
      @teufelshundtactical  Před 11 měsíci +1

Agreed for use at very close range, but at greater distances the peep sight gains advantage. Also in low light, where you need something definable to reference, the peep aperture is easier to pick up, though I always recommend the tritium front sight post on all MP5 variants.

@@teufelshundtactical I have the tritium front and rear sights on my K pdw. For longer distance I would either use a full size mp5 or an AR15 pattern rifle. The K is the right tool for urban environments, inside of 50 yards, 9mm good for reduced collateral damage.
