The Truth About My Fight "Controversy" w/ iDubbbz

  • In May I was lucky enough to be invited to Tampa, Florida to compete in the first ever "Creator Clash", an influencer boxing event designed to raise money for charity. Together with the other fighters we raised over 1.3 million dollars! It was a life-changing experience to not only compete but watch my fellow CZcamsrs fight as well, such as Michael Reeves, Harley from Epic Meal Time, Graham Stephan, Alex Ernst, Justamix, Hundar, AB from the H3 podcast, Dad and Mat Watson, James from TheOdd1sOut, and so many more. While this event was an incredible success and couldn't possibly be overshadowed by anything, it didn't come without its controversies. Today I want to give you a behind the scenes look at my time in Tampa and everything surrounding my main event fight with Creator Clash creator, iDubbbz. If you followed the event at all then you may already know about the mix up with rounds and their lengths, the anger towards my glove tap in the second round, or any of the other drama that's been discussed on reddit forums and podcasts across CZcams. Today I want to discuss all of it and let you know what really happened, and finally put the fake beef to rest.
Also, who should I fight next?

It was for publicity. Not for charity. Fights make a lot of money. None of us know how much of the money actually make it to the charity. But one thing is for sure. Since Floyd Mayweather started doing these kind of exhibitions he found a way to create drama and publicity to make a great amount of money by doing fights. Physical violence makes money and it's not just for the charity. Jake Paul and Logan figured that out a long time ago.

There are many people who are famous or very wealthy and a few Million dollars to charity doesn’t mean anything to them so they do it for tax write offs and for the simple publicity of the situation to make them seem as if they are a good person. Now I simply couldn’t care less why they donate to charity because a donation is a donation and the money given to the organizations will be used for good however they could be a horrible person who just decided to write a check and sometimes it’s released that people donate to charities yet the charities either never receive the donation (they didn’t send it) or the place they donated to wasn’t real and the money goes back to them.

Seen too many fights where people get tagged after a glove touch that changed the whole game, just seems silly. Even if its a legal tactic you're kinda forced to touch gloves if they offer cause its "bad sportsmanship" not to. Hey sometimes fighters like to be outside the clinch not in it, in mma some people got bad takedown defense. Telling that fighter to touch gloves and expose themselves willingly to defend a sudden off the glove takedown or hook is just Asasine.

People need to understand that in a fight, whether a friendly fight, a real fight, or even a street fight, unintentional hits happen. They are literally moving, punching, and dodging 60+kmph hits, there is no way for them to control the exact places that these hits will land. That's why the ref and warning calls are there for a reason. And another thing, the sympathetic nervous reflex is there to protect the wellbeing of a person. It is a survival reflex of the body when in a stressful situation, such as a boxing match. Landing some cheap shots and punching while hugging is difficult to control especially if you're a first time boxer. That's why the phrase "control your nerves" exist

Also this is a high stress situation with tunnel vision. If you are well trained and prepared, you may remember how to do the fighting. Other higher brain functions, which were not part of the training, are probably blocked and reduced.

Unintentional hits hapen but you need the basic control to know when you throwing. If you can't handle the pressure don't step into a ring. Throwing suckerpunches when touching gloves still seems bad to me, and if Mike has been training boxing for 10 years and slips up those I don't know what else to tell you. He should know better.
