There are footages of staff bringing dozens of bottles of bleach hours before he arrived (why else but to erase traces and clean blood) and the tickets to UAE and Egypt (major SA allies) were pre-booked. There are strong evidences that the US services were aware of the trap. There are no self-service bone saws in embassies. Nothing accidental.

Well, you have to fail to pronounce all "p"s and "g"s so you have to use "bark" instead of "park" and "cold" instead of "gold" (I kind you not, Arabs don't have P, G sounds).
There is also the schwa sound they add in front of all words (because their words can't start with a consonant) so it'll be "escools" when trying to say "school".
Maybe Trevor can take note for the future? It seems Saudis will be in the news for the foreseeable future.

It isn't just Saudiis buying weapons from the US; Trump himself has admitted that his behavior toward them is affected by the money they make purchasing real estate. He also makes a lot of money off people connected to the Russian government. Ever wonder why Norway is rich and Russia is not, if they're basically in the same business? Iran is a technologically sophisticated, industrial economy with its own uranium reserves. If you want to limit what they do with those reserves you have two choices: work with them or invade them. As for invading them, they are a much, much tougher nut to crack than Iraq, their population is twice as big, their country is 4x as large, and their economy is 20x as productive as Iraq's was when we invaded them, plus we'd be on our own. Do the math, and tell me what the smart thing to do is.

It has never been seen as a progressive change for Saudi Arabia. Bin Salman took power with a massive à la Godfather coup, where he ordered to kill members of his own family and took in hostage the prime minister of Lebanon for days, forcing him to resign to be released. Since he took power, the numbers of civil executions and arrests have skyrocketed (between x5 and x10, it is a hard dictature so you cannot get exact numbers, and remember that the record was already impressive before him) and Yemen's invasion (with our tax money for a huge part) has led to the biggest famine and cholera outbreak as well as the biggest humanitarian crisis of the century (and believe-you-me, it's not that it doesn't have short of spectacular competititors such as Syria, DRC, Bangladesh or Sudan). Their violations of war laws are consistent (explode hospitals, kill NGO workers and bar NGOs from entering, bomb schools down, block port accesses).
Khashoggi's assassination is nothing of a presumption and it is that badly dissimulated for a clear reason. Even a strong defender of the dictatorship (highly backed by your taxes, why? Look down) such as Khashoggi faces death if they criticize the dictatorship of Bin Salman. A message for all Saudis and the rest of the world.
Their small and highly covered step for women's right to drive (one wonders why, check how much the west makes with the butchery in Yemen and who medias belong to) has led to put in jail all women who fought for that right in the first place (only country not to permit it on the planet) and some now face the death penalty.
Covering that action as surprising from MBS makes no sense and just shows Noah's total lack of education. Billionnaires and millionnaires did not all rush to have dinner with him etc because he is a peace dove but because they make a lot of money speculating on the back of Saudis and Yemenis's corpses.
Never underestimate the hardness of the dictatorship in Saudi Arabia. With the strong support of our current and previous governments.

If you are asking me to predict the future, I cannot help you (and I'd advice you to never believe charlatans). If you're asking me what there is to do, you have a wide variety of choices: there is an amnesty international petition and their actions (just learned that they are calling for a UN investigation), there probably is one from reporters without borders, there are often petitions made or ratified by doctors without borders and doctors of the world (also a good way to have a good grasp about what is happening), oxfam, Human rights watch, there is BDS (there are ways to inform you about what to boycott, I'd suggest you to read Noam Chomsky's Nuclear war and environmental catastrophe, you have ICAN, SIPRI, observatories of armements etc), you can call your representatives and organize to put pressure on them if (and it is often the case) they do have suspicious ties to those investors.
There are also ways to spread and push for Sanders's backed congress member Ro Khanna's call for a federal investigation into Khashoggi's murder.
There also are proposals by the senate to block Saudi Arabia's provision in weapons and you can support it and spread the message.
But the most important one is vote. As you know (and Noah has hosted Carol Anderson), there are strong efforts by corporate-backed candidates to suppress votes, especially of the poor and minorities. If you want to be better informed there is Democracy Now! which I strongly recommend. There are local associations to help people to get registered and to vote, and there are campaigns of sensibilisation and information to vote for voluntary non-voters across the country too. There are actual candidates now across the country opposing those kinds of policies and not corporate-backed, and there are ways to help them. There also are movements in several states for a suppression of the electoral college and the application of a one-person-one-vote for more actual democracy.
It is not going to change by itself, and if you think that people who are benefiting from these incomes on our backs (60% of taxes) will abandon them for ethical reasons by themselves and benevolantly step down you are strongly mistaken. You need to fight against those incarnations of Faust.
Falling into pessimism, apathy or/and cynicism is the way to make it worse and therefore it is precisely what they want.

So when voicings for stricter policies that don't tolerate things like these. I'm not american or for the constitution. From the right, then the left with due process... it is not only a journalist! it is a human being. and when that human being happens to be an american green card holder (permanent resident) lemme help you find out and understand what that means. us permanent resident is a guy who passed immigration phase. that is allowed in the states and more, welcomed here as an american citizen to be. he has all right of the rest of us except the right to vote or be voted. green cards never expire, but we expect them to be followed by proud american citizenship applications, after 5 year with this status.

This is such a horrible crime. Countries can do whatever they want in their own Embassy. There is nothing that Turkey can do about this. Plus Tom Hiddleston is going to be the next James Bond.
Except that Turkey could have limit the mobility of the consul and whoever were supposed to be in that building until a deal was made. Ofc in the real world Saudis have such a power that even the richest and the strongest country cannot say a word to them, so Turkey will likely not do anything by itself.
This was my understanding too. And clearly the Saudis' understanding. A bugged embassy & cctv clearly didn't factor into their plans. I've thought 'I need to look this up' a couple of times in the past few days (so I *will* !!); I know that whatever happens *in* an embassy cannot (/is not supposed to be) be subject to the host country's laws, but anything outside the embassy is. I remember reading an article about Assange being stuck in the Ecuadorian embassy in London because even if he left in a helicopter, he'd be in British airspace & not protected anymore. This happened here - they arrived in *Turkey* & left from *Turkey* - so I'm guessing a hit squad arriving with a premeditated murder plan ('allegedly') & then leaving with, & transporting a dead body through Turkey to a getaway jet ('allegedly') is going to break a few laws on Turkish soil.
I don't know if that means the embassy has to cooperate - just because it's technically a tiny piece of Saudi Arabia within its walls, surely doesn't let it avoid cooperation with a Turkish investigation in Turkey...? I suspect they would not have expected any evidence to be found. Maybe they didn't expect it to happen so quickly. Or, again, if the embassy was bugged, perhaps they didn't expect certain things to ever be uncovered.

Saudi Arabia is (obviously) everything you say, but Turkey tries very hard to maintain diplomatic balance between Europe, to the west, and Middle Eastern countries to the east. It's stuck in the middle in multiple ways.
Plus, as per my comment above, it certainly doesn't want to be seen as a weak country that can't enforce its own laws. Definitely not Erdogan's current track. ..
