These recordings are from live Satsangs at Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Centre in Melbourne, Australia. All the pointers during the Satsang are compiled by Dr Vidya Narasimhan.
Satsang is a Sanskrit term derived from two roots: sat meaning "true’" and sangha meaning community, company, or association. It can be translated as "associating with good people" or simply "being in the company of truth," and refers to the act of gathering with Sattvic-minded, uplifting beings, especially spiritual seekers.
Satsang is different from any course or lecture because the energy field in it allows for clarity, stillness, and expanded awareness to be experienced by those who seek it.
Whenever something increases your awareness of the Truth, it opens your Heart and quiets your mind.
Satsang is one of the most effective means of transcending your mind and staying in the egoless state which can be called enlightenment, liberation, freedom, moksha, nirvana or simply abiding in Self.
We call our Satsang lovingly as Bhagavan Satsang as they are all due to his grace, Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.
According to Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Satsang means only Atma Sang(Association with Self). Those who are trying to be in Self can come in the company of realized beings/Sadhus/Saints/Sages and that is also Satsang. Those who come in the company of Jivanmuktas also become Jivanmuktas.
Bhagavan explained the importance of Satsang by quoting Tayumanuvar, Suta Samhita, and Kaivalya Navanitam.
Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi is widely thought of as one of the most outstanding Indian spiritual teachers of recent times. Having attained enlightenment at the age of 16, he was drawn to the holy mountain of Arunachala in southern India and remained there for the rest of his life. Arunachala mountain itself is considered to be self-manifested Lingam, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Just by looking at it with reverence liberation will happen.
Attracted by his stillness, quietness, and teachings, thousands sought his guidance on issues ranging from the nature of God to daily life.
The philosophy of Advaita or Non-Duality has become, along with Buddhism, one of the most popular spiritual paths being pursued by those interested in enlightenment today. During the past three decades, Advaita has become more widely recognized in the West through the ever-growing popularity of Ramana Maharshi. His point of view has for its aim Self-realization. The central path taught in this philosophy is the inquiry into the nature of Self, the content of the notional 'I-thought'. Carl Jung wrote of Ramana: “Sri Ramana is a true son of the Indian earth. He is genuine and, in addition to that, something quite phenomenal. In India, he is the whitest spot in a white space. What we find in the life and teachings of Sri Ramana is the purest of India; with its breath of world-liberated and liberating humanity, it is a chant of millenniums.”
    Om Peace Peace Peace.

Not many understand the true teaching. Simply because it's so simple. Most use the mind to try and analyse the truth. To know the truth it must be through no mind. LOL. Charles from Brisbane. ❤

Sanjayji No, it is not ego. It's greed & corruption. These old type politicians are bottomless pit, they might not have space for that money but they still look like a mean poor person without shame in their eyes, saying what about me.

The elimination of ego itself is an idea of the ego/body/mind identity. It allows ego/ body/mind/identity to simply split itself further and adopt multiple hiding places- for example, "I am not egotistical but humble", "Yes we need to get rid of those egotistical ones", or "I am a spiritually advanced being." Of course, all of these are examples of gross ego.
There is ORDINARY ego/body/mind identity and then there is the elaborate structures of ego/body/mind/identity. I chop wood, carry water, use the toilet using a form which the absolute has chosen as a temporary temple and while alive in form I honor this. This is an appearance. The ascetic practices of sitting, while birds form nests in our hair, and our body becomes infected from its sticking to the earth and limbs become atrophied from lack of use have led to many extremes. Yes, I am a rock, a tree, the sky but I'm also NOT a rock, a tree or the sky. And if all these appearances of the separate self be the evil, is this not also the play of the divine? We are appearing in this illusory form for reasons we cannot always say. To deny that seems to contradict our appearance here in form and limits Leela. Does a rose not bloom? Shall a man perfectly formed with bone, muscle, and sinew pretend to be a frog and deny his nature? Are we all to be as Bodhidharma and take our position at the wall in trance or be destined for death and rebirth through the six realms? And if this all be the Divine what say do we have in any of it? Though we merge with the Divine, we cannot shake this body even in trance. And for what purpose then to be here and not remain unborn? To presuppose we are trapped here in a cycle of death and rebirth seems to be a prerequisite which I do not always ascribe to as much as appearance here would lead me to believe that. Yet appearances here are as in a fun house mirror distorting everything so perhaps we are here in form as the play of God and the death and rebirth is part of the play. And if time is but a construct and it is all occurring NOW then there can be no death and no rebirth. We just observe the tide goes out and comes back in. Is there anything wrong or right in this?

Sanjai, one is amazed to hear your talks as if we are in a private conversation. You are only telling what one wanted to hear. The same thing happened with this one when osho said ramana maharshi's power is 500 k.m. around him which gradualy attracted me to arunachla hills and one could feel the silence there. Which in turn helped the wife to visit ramsnasram with few of her doctor friends, all of which were amazed to feel the same silence.

How is awareness powerful if it just sits and isn't interested in anything so why are we encouraged to drop ego and just be ...pure awareness.. it has to be more than the suffering human identity right

  • @shyamagokooloopadhya3583

Total acceptance - what I am trying to implement more and more.
If we accept everything so we wouldn’t pray to change. Question: Ramana Maharishi got also operations and caring of his body and pains… This sounds contradictory to me… maybe someone can explain??
Thx for all these helpful talks 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

    • @bismayroychoudhury4288
      @bismayroychoudhury4288 Před 2 lety +1

Total acceptance doesn't mean you wont attend to things. Total acceptance means you are equally happy with either outcome, positive or negative. If the operations were not responding, Bhagavan would have still been accepting to death of his illusory body.

For a realised soul like Ramana and paramahamsa( Ramakrishna). We think they hav pain n suffering They were not in body concious. They don’t feel any pain we see Ramana as body. No only pure conciousness. For a lay man it is v difficult to u derstand. We feel pain bcoz of mind. Radha
