Great test and review! Simple, to the point, and actually showing the usage time with one of the top things to power in an emergency. Great job 👍
Thanks
During the derecho we got back in May I used my Power Station to keep my refrigerator going - I have four 7.5 Ah and two 12 Ah batteries, which together kept my fridge going for almost 36 hours. They could’ve lasted longer but my 12 Ah were only about 50% charge as I hadn’t recharged them after the last snowfall of the season. But yeah the 12 Ah batteries are beasts!
Get solar panels
Great voice great video. I seem to be adding EGO product every year and this generator is why I switched to the brand. As a backup for fridge and camping worth every penny. I just use it for a fan but either in the van or the tent it is a life saver and will easily last the whole weekend even if wife uses the coffe maker instead of my "cowboy" coffee. Lol
great demonstration, thanks as always! i’ll be buying a nexus station tomorrow, plan to use two 10ah and one 7.5ah to power a bose L1 portable speaker system for public music performances. so excited to see it in action!
Glad we could help Eriq
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
Thank you
i gave it a liked, the review was simple and right to the point i need to get one of these this hurricane season or next
Thank you
And just think... You could run a tiny generator or solar setup to charge spare batteries and swap them out to keep the fridge running.
Looks like you’ve been watching the channel 👍🏼
Does ego make solar panels to connect to the Nexus?
@K0NY718 yes see this video and here is the panel link if you want to grab it

For all us Nexus Power Station owners, I’d love to extend the life of the battery beyond by ~10 Ego batteries and doing the power outtake battery shuffle. It would be great to connect the Nexus PS to a LiFePO4 battery, ideally a 5KWhr 48v Server Rack one.
If you take your EGO Link backpack adapter (BH1001), and remove the connection cable from the backpack (or simply buy a replacement cable ARC1500), can you connect the backpack adapter to the Nexus slot, and the other end of the cable directly to the + & - leads of the LiFePO4 battery. Thanks much, love the content.
We are in a hurricane prone area. I have a good fuel efficient duel fuel inverter generator to power up the whole house, including the AC, during the day. But I dont want to run it at night. Having just purchased an EGO mower, I started looking into their power alternatives. I got the Nexus escape for my CPAP machine and a fan in the BR. One 7.5Ah handles that just fine. The next step was to see what I could do to keep power to my fridges. I tried the Escape with them but they are old and the starting surge for the compressors caused overloads (each individually plugged into the Escape). So, I bought the the Power Station with the two 7.5Ah batteries. (I already had two 7.5Ah batteries for a total of four.) The goal was to keep the fridges cold, even if it required relying on the fridge insulation to keep things cold enough and cycle through running each fridge individually. (One running with the other off in say 3 to 4 hour cycles.) I was hoping to get 6 hours with enough left to make a pot coffee to get me energized. I could then go start the genny and power up the house and recharge the batts on the fast charger. I just did a test with both fridges on at the same time. The app says 411 watts with both compressors running. I terminated the two fridge simultaneous test after 7 hours with an ending power level of 25% and then made a pot of coffee. Test complete and sat.
Fantastic video! Thank you
Thank you
Perfect, thank you!
Thank you
Great review and test. I think it is important to point out and to demonstrate that batteries can be replaced on the go. This is one advantage that EGO has over many others. The Nexus really only makes sense to own if one has EGO tools and many batteries. Most of us are aware that it doesn't have pass through charging and the solar charging is poor. Thanks for the review.
Very good point thank you
Thank You
Thank you
great video!!! I have 8 ...10 AH batteries i love my EGO Nexus Power Station

I'm going to get this at some point this year I already have all ego yard equipment 😁
My power has now been out for about 9 or 10 hours now. I have a gas powered inverter but am not running right now because I do not want to leave my back door cracked for extension cord at night. I think I will go pick up one of these tomorrow for the future.
just got one from the store and loaded with all four 7.5Ah batteries. Did not realize you can put yet a bigger battery on this thing, so thank you. Power was out for 20 hours here recently and nice to know I can keep my fridge running full steam during that time.
hey do you need to buy a battery charger or can it or can you charge batteries with it?
@robertgardin4971 you can plug it in and charge the batteries with it
@@TechMadeEzy thank you!
You can also charge my solar check out our video
@@TechMadeEzy I will, thanks again!
Two 7.5 and two 5.0 batteries kept my fridge and large chest freezer running almost 11 hours after a windstorm this year. I had them both plugged in with pretty long extension cords to so I'm guessing I lost a lot pushing current through them as well.
Also had my cell phone plugged in a couple times too
Definitely helps to have especially since we have the batteries
Great videos!! To me it would be game over no brainer if this thing could fast charge via solar panels...
Thank you so much
I would love to see that come
Nice review , it could probably last even longer if you would use it every few hours , not sure if this would make a difference , or even be worse for battery consumption , but it's a good unit just the same , I used mine last month for a planned power outage for 7 hours , had two TVs and internet and landline plus the coffee maker and sandwich griller going , was great with the 2 x 10 amp and 2x7.5 batteries.
I've heard that, turn off the refrigerator every 3 hours etc
Omgosh. I just bought the delta 2 with 220 solar panel. But I have this nexus & was curious about how it would handle a fridge. Totally needs hooked up to solar panels to last for days. I’d like to sell mine. Never used. Too many parts to it. I think I’ll love the delta 2 a ton more. So streamlined
Still looking to sell yours?
@@jongilbert255 Can’t u find anywhere?
Great Episode thanks I have a camper and this would make a great back up .. Does Brooklyn think these fridge episodes involve treats ..?
Lol Stephen 100% she definitely gets her treats but I still have to keep her fit thank you for watching
👍
If I loose power just bring in coolers I use for camping transfer frozen food and mix with stuff that will spoil easy
Thank you for showing the tested refrigerator specs. Too many leave this important detail out. Very well done and explained.
Thanks
If my power is out for a long time, like after a hurricane, I could run the fridge at night on the power station and recharge the batteries during the day with a generator and avoid the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning (running it outside of course) or burning up too much gas.
Also ego solar czcams.com/video/PJSGA5ydHDY/video.htmlsi=kfezPHX7sOmp_8cp
Will this power station work with Briggs and Stratton 82v battery’s
can you tell me how many times your fridge cycled per hr on off
Would there be a difference on an old school belted compressors vs the new linear compressors like a LG refrigerator
WoW definitely over my head in that, wouldn’t know sorry
Looks like a nice unit for the price.
Can it be hooked up to solar panels?
Yes I broke it down into a 3 part series, links are in the video description
czcams.com/video/PJSGA5ydHDY/video.html
Brother, I love your videos. Question for you. When you tested the PAD5000 with one 10ah the fridge ran for 12h 20mins. The Nexus with four 7.5ah batteries (30ah total) only lasted 22h. I was hoping around 36 hours.
Do you know why this could be?
Thanks in advance 👊🏽🇺🇸
thanks a lot first of all I appreciate your support 👍🏼
If I had to guess maybe the compressor kicked on more when I did the test with the Nexus power station if it did it definitely uses more power
@@TechMadeEzy thank you. That has to be the only reason.
I really don't know it's interesting but anyway have a great night and thanks again
@@TechMadeEzy thank you. You too.
Something wrong with your older batery , I put four 7.5 of the older model on my nexus and they do not react like that , are they do that only on your nexus ?
Yes
Ever since my first EGO light with a 12 amp hour battery I rely on you for the truth concerning ego.
As a carpenter, I was thinking to run the remaining corded power tools inside if it is feasible along with the EGO power station.
The only tools that aren't cordless is my table saw, sanders, Sliding Miter saw and my tile saw. If I am correct all the saws are rated at 15 amp I guess.
Your best guess do I use the Nexus power station or a generator?
Ricky 1st thank you that's very important
It should be able to run those but what batteries are you putting on this I might almost recommend larger capacity batteries for longer run time, what do you have? 7.5ah? 10ah?
@@TechMadeEzy I currently have 1 single 12 amp hour battery but would purchase more
Honestly, before you spend the money, you also might want to see what’s out there as far as other PowerStations. Take a look at our battery power station playlist that might be a good start. We did a ton of reviews on small, medium and large PowerStations.
@@TechMadeEzy I didn't know that other power stations exist, we are 100% accustomed to generators.
Here is our playlist , take a look when you have time
czcams.com/play/PLdfhMMMBbtujmRZcauHUeKHx2rHFKfLDx.html
would you reccomend this or the ecoflow?
It all depends on your needs. I think the big question is if you have a bunch of ego batteries, then the answer is this one.
I want to run a tv for a tailgate do you think that would be adequate? It comes with 2 batteries $1000 at Loews
If it’s an LCD those done use too much power, what type of TV and
What size batteries ?
The two batteries in back seem to be damaged? What’s going on with those two. I had one battery that died on me blinked that same way
Hey Milk Man 👍🏼
Not damaged they flash like that when they are in the unit
How does this compare to a 2400 watt portable power station?
Which 2400w ?
Why were the 2 batteries flashing green to red?
Old Gen batteries always do that on the nexus
Mine flash red on mower when going out of power.
Does anyone know what could be wrong with my Nexus. Everything works untill I turn on the sockets then the red triangle comes on only and nothing works. It's not the temperature either. Any help
Recommend calling EGO (855) 346-5656
@@TechMadeEzy thank you
How long would 1800btu ac last?
What’s the wattage and the surge wattage when starting up?
How long did it take to recharge this it would be great for an emergency case but man im guessing that would take days to recharge
I haven’t recharged these batteries on this, I usually use my dual port charger and sometimes solar to charge. Would definitely take a few hours to charger 4 x 7.5ah batteries maybe around 5-6 hours
@@TechMadeEzy im looking to make a solar set up for when we lose power from brown outs so i dont have to take out the BIG generator all the time and this is a COSTLY task or a summer problem so id need something that can kinda be a inbetween that all day is solar (100watt)and only at night it battery. what do you think will this handle that as this will break my bank account lol
We did a 3 part series on solar with the ego power station here is part 1, part two and three links can be found in the description. I hope this helps you.

Did you have any problems getting your phone to connect via Bluetooth or WiFi? I've tried everything and it won't connect to Bluetooth or wifi
Bluetooth works for me. WiFi I don’t think ever did
@Tech Made Easy ......thanks for the reply. I just found out that it does connect if you have an android 11, 12 or better. I have a S22 Ultra so it's a no go for me. I also found out that the wifi has to be 2.4HZ for the station to connect.
I’m using mine with 2 batteries & turns off 2 hours later after running a small electric heater ! junk to me should of bought a gasoline generator
Can I daisy chain these to run a house ?
Buying multiple and connecting them won’t really help you. Just buy a power station that can run most of a house, here are some examples
Can run even 240v
czcams.com/video/jQLqm0X-Opw/video.htmlsi=Di2hLrhm4ga_bnSj
Is expandable and has options if you need 240v
czcams.com/video/eh1FcpGol1A/video.htmlsi=LE6D-Eas4C5wM7Xp
Lower cost but still expandable for more run time
czcams.com/video/ixx4gfHV4oo/video.htmlsi=9AxGDjo9_C1sX1lv
Can you answer battery question.
I have 4 10.0ah and 4 12.0ah batteries along with 2 2.5ah and 1 5.0ah battery.
I aways thought the max size battery for the power Nexus was 7.5ah.
So your saying I could run this with my 12.0ah batteries? If that is so I'll be buying this power backup on receiving your reply. I did not want to have to buy only the 7.5ah batteries when I already had the larger sizes. Don't know why I was told 7.5ah was the biggest that could be used. I have wasted more than a year now. ;)
Of course you can run this with 12 amp hour batteries and that's just going to give you more run time I've already tried 10 amp hour batteries on this and it works fine
22 hours of running a refrigerator for the cost of 1,300 some dollars doesn't seem like a very good deal.
549 in Amazon right now
How about for keeping a sump pump running in a power outage Plus?A fridge keeps things cold for a long time anyways so whos cares about that test
As long as you’re under the water age and you put the correct battery size on the unit, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. You can add 10ah or 12ah batteries that will help with run time.
Today's refrigerators use printed circuit boards with adaptive computerized controls. Don't be surprise if shortly after using one of these devices to power your frig that you need a technician to replace one or more of your electronic controls on your frig, or even worse, the compressor due to lack of proper amperage being fed to the refrigerator.
