If I had to guess Ultrasaur was probably set to 14 instead of fifteen so priest couldn’t divine spirit plus inner fire to get a 30/30 minion without any other buffs
Do you think they were actually scared of a 10 mana minion being too strong if, after waiting a turn, it could one-shot an opponent IF they didn't have a Taunt minion AND they hadn't damaged it at all during the previous turn AND if you had the two other combo pieces? Wow, shows how long their balance and play-testing team has been on strike for I guess.
@@Ceracio Not everyone who plays the game are good or knowledgeable. So it makes sense in that context.
@@Ceracio Divine Spirit + Inner Fire was just 3 mana. So you could easily build your deck around that combo with having 2x Circle of Healing and Mass Dispel was in the game. So it would have actually been pretty easy to drop the Ultrasaur and without hard removal you could just heal it up full and go face through taunt. On top of that Ultrasaur was released in the same set when Silence + Inner Fire priest was actually pretty good and popular.
Got every card right. Almost died laughing after I saw the Zandalar Champion. During TGT there were no modern Zandalari in WoW so yeah.
I think there was some zandalar's on Isle of Thunder back in MoP when TGT was released but yea nobody actually cared about them anyways

Technically there was the Zandalar Tribe in Wow Classic that involved Zul’Gurub
3:03 Rarran at this point was underestimating how bad of rng Zeddy has. He saw ebon guy way too often
Ebon Dragonsmith also had fringe use in Paladin too. Even Paladin tried to use it with Silver Sword way back when it first came out.
You guys have some great chemistry. Would love to see more every so now and then
7:13 Small fun fact:
The reason why Groundskeeper is such an eyesore, and easy to guess (even if you managed to go through Scholomance, and not see this card once), is because in Scholomance, every Class only had 2 other Classes they shared some cards with.
Druid only shares them with Shaman or Hunter, and Priest only shares them with Warlock or Paladin.
So even if it wasn't Groundskeeper, and some other card, just seeing the Druid/Priest Dual Class card LOOKS weird to begin with.
The artwork screams shaman with the lightning and rain too

On the "generated cards don't have rarity" it probably caught Zeddy off guard because it wasn't consistent in early hearthstone and they changed that in Kobolds & Catacombs

My guess is Ultrasaur wasn't 15 Health because if it survived a turn with full health that was a guaranteed one shot with Divine Spirit + Inner Fire (except if armor of course).

That was a super fun format. I felt like the thing with Muck Hunter and only the set symbol being wrong was maybe a bit cheap but its propably a thing of taste/feels bad if you dont know if you should look for it or not.

I like how Ogre in Charge seems like a bonkers fake card because it would be OP but then you realize Mr Smite exists and he is like x10 better than it.
I have to say as someone who hardly plays anymore its impressive how easily I can tell when the class border colours just look "off" with the art.

For sure, I will always know when my bae Scarlet Purifier is tampered with, as I used that back in the vintage days for a goofy 'Wombo Combo Dombo' Pally deck that revolves around... you know... combos. So I used this with Nerubian Eggs and... it actually did quite well. But that was back when people weren't so nutty about smashing their faces into meta decks as they do now. Think I actually made it close to gold with that top tier garbo, but it was at least fun to play.
Before the rotation I played a lot of quest priest and the 5/5 taunt getting the shard is actually pretty good.
Now quest priest is unplayable

I feel like Ogre in Charge in under stated, considering Mr. Smite is a 6-mana 6/5 charge minion that makes pirates charge also. Health seems irrelevant when you're just attacking face.
