Have a look at the FTX Moray for a small boat that is really cheap, very quick for its price/size combo, and is really well made. I use mine only in salt water because I live on a small island, and it deals with the salt no problem!

Just asking, I have the Shreddy recoil 2 and it's brushless and everything seems to be water protected. Does that then mean that if some saltwater gets in it won't be affected negatively? and if so shouldn't it just be an easy fix?

I've been around real boats and owned a few in my life. This boat sits too deep in the water - lacks buoyancy which affects it's ability to get up on plane! Battery may be too heavy for the hull? With some inexpensive modifications I bet it would perform better! Try adding pontoons made from lightweight balsam wood; cut/saw/carve to a hull-like shape, encapsulate with thin heat-shrink plastic (waterproof it) and fasten to port and starboard sides of boat using Velcro. You'll have to vertically/horizontally adjust pontoon placement while boat is in the water, ideally you want minimum hull below the water (draft) - less drag/resistance.

Nice little boat. Itseems to do well using differential thrust of the dual jets for treating. The Pro Boat PBR which also has two dual water jet does it a bit differently, it has directors at the end of the jets, giving it vectored thrust, which, like the real baot it is based upon, allows it to turn around in place! I find it interesting that the Joy Stone RC boat doesn't have any superstructure on it to give it a traditional boat look. In fact, it looks like the sea drone that Ukraine is using to fight against the Russian invaders. For a country that technically donesnt' have a navy (they scuttled the one large warship they had at the beging of the Russian invasion last years), they have sunk an impressive number of Russia ships.

Why would salt water or fresh water effect the performance of an RC Boat?
Salt water can effectively ruin the electronics of most RC boats. Pretty quickly!! They are bragging that this has those electronics sealed off well enough that the salt water won’t ruin it. Pretty cool!! We still rinsed it out with fresh water at the end of the day to be safe. Just habit 👍⚓️

@@TheRcSaylors the perfect boat would be around 36" long, preferably twin hull and it needs to be fast!! You can get a surpass hobby 3674 brushless inrunner for 20 something bucks, 100 amp red brick esc for 20 something and that would be plenty enough motor to turn it into a rocket ship. I really think with todays technology, we could release a boat like this at the $100-$150 mark for a pnp platform.
