- A big, new package of US military aid will help Ukraine avoid defeat in its war with Russia. The arms and ammunition in the $61 billion military aid package should enable Ukraine to slow the Russian army's bloody advances and block its strikes on troops and civilians. And it will buy Ukraine time - for long-term planning about how to take back the fifth of the country now under Russian control.

The delay had no effect in the war, it’s Russia adapting to the Western weapons technology & electronic warfare making difference. Ukraine lost two Patriot Systems that cost $1Billion each.

This aid is a noble lifeline of essential importance, but keeping them in the fight is not good enough. Prolonging the war long term is not the right strategy, what is necessary is to shorten it by winning, and that can only be done with NATO involvement in the Ukraine. Not in Russia. Perhaps, if enough, even only in a defensive capacity, shielding the Ukraine from all of Russia’s attacks,so as to allow the Ukrainian army to concentrate all its forces on the front.

NATO has only given Ukraine a small percentage of their military budget and Ukraine has so far killed or wounded half of Russian military personnel, destroyed half of Russia's modern tank force, and sunk half of the Russian black sea fleet. Meanwhile no NATO casualties.
