- Satyanarayan Nuwal left Bhilwara in Rajasthan in search of livelihood when he was barely 17. Taking up odd jobs here and there, attempting to trade in commodities - and failing a couple of times, he chanced upon an opportunity to buy and sell licensed explosives to government mining companies in the late 1970s.
Slowly and meticulously Nuwal, a school dropout gained experience and expertise in this highly restricted field, often struggling to make ends meet.
Through sheer dint of hard work and dogged determination, he established, built and now heads one of the largest explosives and ammunition companies in the world. Headquartered in Nagpur, Solar Industries is today a truly global company.
BharatShakti is proud to kickstart a new series, 'On The Shop Floor', by chronicling Mr Nuwal’s work ethic and understanding future plans for making India self-sufficient in ammunition and force multipliers like armed drones as he narrates his life story to Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale.

This shows the knowledge and power of the Indian youth being harnessed effectively by the private industry. They are not only designing the ammunition but even the machines required to test them. This is a real make in India.

I commend them for 99% reliability and fast delivery of the Multi mode hand grenade. This grenade is a generation ahead of the older HE-36 grenade, which had poor reliability.

So glad to hear from Mr Satyanarayan ji and his open embrace of our flawed defense industry which does not prioritize innovation in defense by asking private industry to invest their own money into R&D for developing projects without assurance of any orders. If it was any other country except India, they would have filled the order book of such companies who are ready to make what every is needed for defense. I congratulate Mr Satyanarayan ji and wish your company speedy induction of Maheshwarastra 1 and Maheshwarastra 2 and Bhargavastra very soon because India needs it.

That user in first instance regarding pinaka rockets was reluctant to extend range when pvt industry was capable enough to do....at last they put there funds to prove it .... here lies the change...which should be brought in....pvt + psu + army healthy competition can bring this total turnaround....first step should be involving inhouse army R&D department.... there views should be immediately implemented.....as they are the benificer and sufferers in any case

One of the best story of this channel, it's so wonderful, people like Satyanarayan Nuwal will make India self reliant in Defence manufacturing. My salute to this indomitable spirit of this down to earth man.
Quite informative. So I have invested in Solar Industries a year ago after their name came in delhi-twin-tower blast. I realized that explosives are consumables, and their need will rise over period of time. Further as they are making for defense also, we will eed a lot of them specially we ever get into war with China.
But this video gives a lot of confidence about the mgmt and facility. Last year only there was some data breach at SI, you should have asked how are they protecting their data and IPs.
Mr Satyanaryana is great inspiration. He started from the scratch, made the solar industry brick by brick.
Army should take back order from ordinance give to private companies at lest they hungry for work.

I have a question is it okay that you are shooting all videos of national secrets, armory , ammunition etc., ? How high are your videos encrypted w.r.t enemies who are watching all these ? As a Indian I should say that these videos needs to protected and safeguarded in a vault nobody should know where we are at the current modern era. I think growing up since 1990’s I haven’t seen such videos so often but you made it look so simple with the advent of social media ! @@animesh_tiwary they have infrastructure and expertise in sense human resources/technical people thats different thing that ofbs are inefficient. most important large manufactuing facilities with old machinery that needs upgrade.
@@tarunshroti3255 All OFB has is valuable real estate. Nothing else really carries much value whether its their men or machinary. The Govt can offload real estates to commercial markets to derive some value of it.
