Nagastra: Indian Army’s New Kamikaze Drone
The Indian Army today took delivery of Nagastra-1 loitering munition. A loitering munition is part UAV and part missile and is also known as a Kamikaze or suicide drone. Once launched, it flies or loiters over an area, like an eagle hunting for its prey. It flies silently like a raptor, its electric motors making it virtually undetectable. It can be controlled by an operator from as far as 15 km, and once it spot a target, like lightning, it comes crashing down to fall on its prey. Its 1 kg warhead makes quick work of its target. The lightweight 9 kg drone can take out a target as far as 30 km away once it is fed with the coordinates of its target. The drone is most useful against fleeting targets due to its less reaction time. If the drone is not able to detect an target, then it can be safely recovered via an inbuilt parachute.

Among these, the most important was the nomination of the new Chief of Army Staff. The issue was obviously at the top the agenda of the MoD. 09 June 2024 oath taking of the shell ministers is unconstitutional as the specific portfolios as per AOB RULES 1961 have not been allocated . Its like solemonisation of marriage without disclosure of the spouse which is void marrige in law . Assigning shallow ranks is absurd and unconstitutional and pm cannot keep all policy to himself as the policy is also a part of the portfolio and is cabinet joint responsiblity . A policy in secret is not a policy till it is declared and debated and voted in parliament . AOB RULES 1961 are a presidential order of First President Rajinder Prasad .President under his hand and seal has to appoint ministers to specific portfolios as per AOB RULES 1961. Allocation by MODI after 24 hours is unconstitutional hijack of presidential powers . Who was incharge of the ministries for the working hours on Monday perhaps it is a deliberate safe pessage by MODI to facilitate destruction of sensitive files /records by the vulnerable secretaries taking advantage of the deliberate calculated lapse ???? Muizzu has embarassed Jaishankar and Modi through his stark presence at swearing ceremony while at home ordered a probe into india maldievs fraudulent bilateral MOU with hidden attack onthe sovereignity of Maldeives through military garrisoning at maldeives that Muizzu has ordered to out march at once and dismantle all bases . Jaishankar and Modi hasd no guts to face Muizzu at Shangrilla where Muizzu raised the Indian trechery issues internationally and embarassed Jaishankar and Modi who cannot meet an eye with Muizzu as the CAT is out of the bag and beans are spilled. Modi Industrial military complex involving defence external affairs and MEITY is MODI 10 YEARS CUPID HARDWORK FORTIFICATION where lies all the deep state secrets And MODI WILL NOT PART THESE to any NDA ALLY AT ANY COST and will exercise his VETO in the name of defence security .The CORPORATES ARMS TRADE MAFIA IN COLLUSION WITH ARMY IS A CUPID DESIGN THAT WILL NEVER BE DECODED AND WILL SUCK THE ECONOMY ALL TIMES TO COME . RAJNATH has removed 43000 Defence workmen from service in a draconian manner on the excuse of pay bills savings and at the same time converted sainik bhurti quota to agniveer which is a move to create slave manpower bank for the AMBANI ADANI TATA as these agniveer shall have no option but to sign bonds with adani ambani TATA defence contractors with whom the bjp has commercial vested interest as huge contracts are being awarded to arms mafia traders adani ambani who have built an industrial military modi complex to loot Defence budgets through DFPDS 2017 etc which is non statutory CGDA/IFA fiat with no accountablity . CGDA/IFA is accountant advisor and expenditure sanctioning authority at the same time which is inherently corrupt and complicit apparatus and is a big scam of Rs 300000 crores of Defence budgets/DFG that are being pushed without parliamentary scrutiny and not subject to CAG audit with MURMUR blood relation planted as CAG to safe passage the 3 lakh crore fraud to make MODI MACHIVILLE programmed dictator - a jew in hindu disguise on a loot india mission after Mohamad Ghauri . INDIA in QUAD has been condemned by US INDPACOM COMMANDER as only a commercially interested party and not at all a strategic partner. CHAPPAN 56 has grossly flopped as was not considered worthy invitee by IISS at Shangrilla considering INDIA to be nothing more than a slave colony of erstwhile BRITISH crown that still controls the indian cosmetic (greedy to the core) self defeating army . External Affairs Minister for a second term, S. Jaishankar hit the floor running on June 10, sending out a message of continuity and “business as usual” for Indian foreign policy in the new government. While he assumed charge as for his second consecutive term on June 11, hours before his portfolio was even formally announced, he called on all seven neighbourhood leaders who had been invited to witness PM Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony. By including Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu, whose government had been at loggerheads with New Delhi until India accepted his demand to withdraw Indian troops from the southern atolls, Mr. Modi has attempted to get ahead of the first of many foreign policy challenges he will face in the neighbourhood, during his third term.

Conflict of Interest The primary role of the Secretary of Defense is to manage the administrative and strategic aspects of national defense. Adding the responsibility of heading DRDO, which focuses on research and development in defense technologies, could lead to conflicts of interest. The dual role may cause prioritization issues, where the Secretary might favor certain projects or policies that align more closely with immediate defense needs rather than the long-term research goals of the DRDO. 2. Overextension The Secretary of Defense already has a demanding role, overseeing defense policies, military budgets, and coordination with armed forces. Adding the responsibility of managing a complex and specialized organization like DRDO could lead to overextension, where neither role receives the full attention and expertise it requires. This could result in inefficiencies and a potential decline in the effectiveness of both the department and DRDO. 3. Lack of Technical Expertise The role of DRDO's head requires a deep understanding of scientific research, technological development, and innovation. While the Secretary of Defense may have extensive experience in defense administration, they may lack the technical expertise needed to effectively lead a research and development organization. This mismatch can hinder the progress of DRDO’s projects and its mission to develop cutting-edge defense technologies. 4. Bureaucratic Inefficiencies Integrating the leadership of DRDO into the administrative framework of the defense department could introduce additional bureaucratic layers, slowing down decision-making processes. DRDO's projects often require quick and decisive action to stay ahead in technological advancements, and bureaucratic delays could compromise the organization's agility and responsiveness. 5. Politicization of Research If the Secretary of Defense heads DRDO, there is a risk of politicizing the organization’s research agenda. Scientific research and development should ideally be driven by technical merit and strategic necessity rather than administrative considerations. Administrative oversight might lead to prioritizing projects that align with bureaucratic goals rather than those that are technologically sound or strategically important. 6. Resource Allocation The dual role might affect the fair allocation of resources. The Secretary of Defense might allocate more resources to initiatives that align with immediate defense needs, potentially neglecting long-term research projects essential for future defense capabilities. This could undermine the strategic planning and long-term goals of DRDO. 7. Accountability and Governance Effective governance requires clear lines of accountability. Having the same person head both the Department of Defense and DRDO can blur these lines, making it difficult to hold the leadership accountable for specific outcomes. This could lead to a lack of transparency and reduced organizational accountability. This dude is merely trying to polish his superiors for political favours and ironically, highlights a major issue in indan managerial systems0despiute the topic being about restructuring the DRDO . his answer is laughable, perhaps he himself sohuld be released

Valid point by Dr Guruprasad that hand holding from top will definitely drive decision making faster. But two thing I disagree with: 1. Cost and time overruns: I don’t think we should say out loud that time and cost overruns not happening shows no innovations made. Development and deployment needs to be faster. Understood that industry pace can’t be matched, but goal must be to avoid time overruns and minimize cost overruns. Agility is key especially when indigenous development needs to take front seat. 2. Lifelong expertise development: personally DRDO should hire more PhDs for specialized developed and a combination of Mtech and Btech folks can drive the speed culture. Maybe a five year bond sort of approach could be tried. ISRO has it (maybe still does) in coordination with IIST so that people don’t leave in an year or two. 3. Inefficient labs needs to be either shutdown or the lab management needs to be replaced by a combination experienced and young team. I remember from my personal experience at GTTE interview which was supposedly developing India’s first gas turbine engine (Kaveri) and turned out to be big failure. Some land had a culture, where 12 pm lunch , 4 pm tea and then 5 leave for home. Hoping changes from the PMO will drive better execution, agility and development cycles for the defense forces.
