Jimmie winning his 7th championship will always be my favorite Jimmie Johnson victory
Ah so many memories. #1 for me has to be the 2016 Goody's Fast Relief 500. Me being attendance for the win, it being Jeff Gordon’s final race, and it was the race that gave Jimmie Johnson the ticket to his record tying 7th championship.

I would say 2016 if I were him
He answeredthat in the video he announced his retirement. He said 2006, because it was his first, and he really felt the pressure, since he "failded" the previous years
I’m 21 and have been a Jimmie fan since late 05 and this season is very bittersweet considering part of my childhood will die when he retires so it’s gonna be very bittersweet
For me Jimmie’s best win was 2015 Texas 2. Brad had that one locked up and Jimmie just went god mode on the last run stole it
you should ask jimmie if he’s planning to race some races next season, if so which ones
He is doing Indycar next year for chip Ganassi so if he does race next year it would most likely be at Dover or Daytona.

The two
that stand out to me from this list are....
1) The 2011 Talladega tandem. Not Jimmie AND Dale Jr winning but where in the heck did Carl Edwards think he was going? 🙈
2) Homestead 2016. Again not necessarily JJ winning his 7th Championship but the way Kyle Larson raced not wanting to interfere with the championship contenders. Though Jimmie's excitement was pretty dang cool.

I think he could. It's a shame he most likely won't win in Nascar again( I obviously could be wrong), but that shouldn't define his really great career. It's been a pleasure being a fan of Jimmie Johnson for 9 of my 10 years as a Nascar fan.
I'm gonna miss watching him, he is my all time favorite! I'm so glad I get to see him at Texas one last time.

Jimmie you came into the cup series when you were about 25 years old, did you think you could've done so much before if you came to the cup series before the 2000 season?

I watched his 7th championship live, my carl edwards loving friend screamed at the top of his lungs and said he didn't deserve it, he was a horrible person anyway so it didn't matter what he said

Made me cry watching all those big wins. Those last two laps at homestead for #7, I literally held my breath and couldnt even make a sound for 5mins after the checkered flag. Was such an Honor to root for my driver all those years.

Well my friend, here we are, the end of an era. February 19th, 2006 will go down as the day that changed my life forever. I truly thank the lord from above for picking your car to win the Daytona 500 at just the age of 5. If I never believed in you, I would honestly be a lost cause and I would not have been introduced to the sport I have grown to know and love. Every week watching you on track either on TV or in person was more than a blessing, it was a gift from God himself. As my love and support for you has grown over the years, I became loyal, devoted, and ardent. Back when the haters got tired of you winning all those races and championships, I didn't give a care in the world. I was behind your back and our fans had your back. We withstood it all from those mumbles and conversations from others who didn't believe.
I'm also fortunate for all the times we have shared a simple conversation or just a quick signing. From Charlotte, where I was a small midget standing next to a very tall person that was also my hero, to NYC, where I waited countless hours for you to appear with Richard Rawlings in the pouring rain. I sacrificed so much to be a part of your presence. If you just so happen to hold another appearance no matter where it is, I will drop everything and travel countless hours and miles just to see you race or even just say a simple hello and goodbye.
I've cheered for you, i've screamed for you, i've cried for you. Whenever you had a bad day, my heart hurts for you and my mental state has rested in your hands. Whenever you excelled, I was in a happy state of mind, but when things didn't go your way, I was in depression.....sometimes really bad depression, and it is not a great feeling........
......but what got me back on track was your perseverance, your humbleness, and your no-quit attitude. When all hope was lost at Daytona this year, you never gave up. You weren't willing to quit the race and that night, my tears of sadness and anger turned into tears of joy and resilience. It was that moment I knew that Jimmie Johnson was a real-life version of Darkwing Duck, where no matter how hard the hits came, Jimmie would always get back up. I also realized that I shouldn't be emotional because we can't run for a coveted 8th title, but that I should be proud and humbled to have watched a driver like Jimmie for as long and dominant as I have.
Despite all of this, I want to say thank you. Thank you for all the cheers, the tears, the heartbreaks, and the triumphs. I'm also crying not tears of sadness, but tears of joy as you embark on the next chapter of your life. While it's going to be sad not seeing you in a stock car, I cannot wait for the next part of the story to be written in open-wheels. You, in my opinion, are the greatest driver of this generation and many of us should celebrate this special moment together as a community because we may never see anyone like you again. My life has forever been changed because of your passion for racing, and if the pieces didn't fall into place, I probably wouldn't be writing this to you. I would just be another lost soul trying to search for a place in this world.
Until the next time we see each other again Jimmie, I am forever thankful to have a hero like you in my life. You have not only inspired me, these podcast guys who put their heart and soul into the work they do for the sake of entertainment for us the fans, but generations of NASCAR fans to come. I will most definitely be telling stories to my grandchildren about the good days and times not only you, but we have shared together. My one wish is to get the chance to talk to you Jimmie and while this podcast crew is doing this one-of-a-kind interview, I hope this comes as a close second to know how much you mean to me and to millions of other fans around the world who have gotten to know one of NASCAR's greatest drivers and possibly NASCAR's greatest figure.

A race that I think should have made this list: the 2004 Coca-Cola 600. It was IMHO his single most dominant win: leading 334 of 400 laps. Until Truex in 2016, it was at that point the most dominance ever shown in the 600 miler

This isn’t a question but, I want to thank JJ myself for the absolute domination, he and Chad Knaus brought to NASCAR. I can almost say I grew up along seeing Jimmie Johnson get Win #1 as a infant, to now being a graduate of high school and now looking at his astonishing 83 wins, two Daytona 500’s & the seven championships. The 2021 season is going to be a odd year without the man himself but in my humble opinion Jimmie Johnson is the G.O.A.T in Nascar.
My favorite Jimmie win was Sonoma 2010. His only win at a road course and I was there! It was so cool witnessing my favorite driver win at my track

That was awesome.
Definitely the win after the plane crash is number one. When you listen to how the drivers past and present speak about Hendrick and Rick as a team owner and boss, that is one unified family. They all hurt when one hurts and they all are happy when one does well. I don't have a bad thing to say about Rick for the opportunities he has given to drivers and what he has done for Jimmie is next level.

When I was either 2 or 3, my dad took me to a store and we went to the nascar toys, my mom and dad thought I would for sure pick the number 5 car because I liked Speed Racer, but I instead picked the Lowe's #48 Chevy Monte Carlo drove by Jimmie Johnson

Great pick for #1. It was awful to see that organization lose so many family and friends in that accident. That win is so much like Steve Parks’ 2001 Rockingham win and Dale Jrs Daytona summer race win.

The most underrated but his biggest accomplishment of all, maybe the biggest in Nascar history? 5 championships in a row! Regardless of what you think of the Chase in its almost 20 year existence nobody has even won back 2 back championships..5 in a row will never be broken
Mine are when he beat Kenseth at Las Vegas in 2006, the Talladega win where he was pushed by Junior to the checkers, the 2007 Martinsville race where he beats Jeff Gordon by a hair(Jeff would have likely put the bumper to him and got around him if he was in the old car, JJ got helped by the cars being boxy.), the 2005 Coca Cola 600. Also a couple of notables where JJ lost, but still made an impact are The 2008 Pep Boys Auto 500 where Carl Edwards is overwhelmed that Jimmie still managed to finish in the top ten and the 2005 Atlanta race where he loses to Carl Edwards in photo finish. Also my question would be about his Busch Series days.
His most memorable win would be the 2004 fall race at Atlanta. One of the memorable races ever. Certainly the most emotional win.
The #1 win is why Allen Bestwick is an all-time great play by play man. He let the moment breathe.

I was at the 2005 Coca Cola 600, and that was a crazy long race. Where I was sitting coming out of turn 4 you couldn't tell who won. Also that's the race where Dale Jr wrecked Michael Waltrip on the front stretch, and actually got booed

My Personal Favorite Jimmie Johnson win has to be the 2014 Texas Fall Race because of the insane fight with Brad & Jeff.
I think that the 2005 Coke 600, 2016 Homestead, 2002 California could all make a case for P1. 2005 he just absolutely blasted through through the field. He came from 25th to 1st in the last 15 laps. 2002, first win, obviously. 2016, definitely his most defining race and moment of his career.

Jimmie you have been my favorite driver since I went to Hendricks Motorsports when I was 3. When I was a little kid every time you win I would run around my house yelling and cheering. Up until 2018 you seemed to be the dominant driver at Hendrick. I still think you probably are. Do they give you a bad car now because their focused on promoting Elliot and Bowman or did so many people leave your team that your car isn’t up to snuff anymore? Thanks a lot if you answer this.

I could surely watch the 2006 Daytona 500, 2011 Aaron's 499 and 2016 Ford Ecoboost back over again. They're pretty memorable races because they where great from start to finish. Not sure about the 2004 Coke 600 because it was both good and bad. 😅
