    At the end of 2018 , I had no symptoms. I could not feel the lump. My mammogram tech found it. Fortunately, it was caught very early. I had radiation and several surgeries. The doctor removed some lymph nodes and a suspicious area, but missed the marker and cancerous tumor. So the cancer was still in there through radiation and recovery period. Six months later the same mammogram tech found it again. Two more surgeries and some therapy. I have been cleared for almost three years.

      Please read and look into overdiagnisis and overtreatment caused by having screening mammograms. Many of the cancers they find are slow growing cancers. The woman will die of something else before it spreads. But they treat it with radiation and chemo. People can die and have life-long health problems from cancer treatment. My mom died from radiation therapy.

    I’m 36 and found a lump on the underside of my breast the end of 2020. It felt like 2 hard peas side by side (like an 8). Turned out it was ductal carcinoma. Been a tough last 7 months but finished surgeries, test galore, chemo etc and just had my double mastectomy last week because my pathology (after my lumpectomy) showed that I had a lot of DCIS. Now I am Waiting for my pathology test to come back from that and hopefully cancer free. Always good idea to get checked.

    I greatly appreciate your honesty and guidance towards our health and what to look for and what is best. I agree on what you say about mammograms too. Some have been saved but yes, they are not best when there is safer alternatives. I value all Doc's especially the ones that go beyond traditional practices but treat and advocate for the what is best for their patients that can lead to curing not just maintaining a disease. We all want freedom from disease. Thank you again. You are refreshing

    I had no signs. I had missed an annual mammogram, so went in for a mammogram two years after the previous mammogram. This mammogram was abnormal, so I had to go for a diagnostic mammogram. The diagnostic led to a biopsy. This is how my breast cancer was definitively diagnosed. I NEVER felt a lump, even when I knew where the mammograms were showing a lump. My doctor never felt a lump, either. I ended up having a lumpectomy without ever experiencing any sign of breast cancer. Stage 1, ER/PR+, HER2-, invasive lobular carcinoma. I had radiation therapy and now I am on my third year of hormone inhibitors. For the rest of my life, I will have diagnostic mammograms every six months.
    Do not skip your mammograms, ever. The statistics showing that some cancers are missed by mammograms are somewhat misleading: many cancers are, in fact, caught by mammograms. Do the self-exams (I do, at least weekly), but don't think that you'll catch something if it is amiss. I never had a single symptom until the mammogram showed an abnormality.
    Edited: I forgot to mention that after the surgery and radiation, I developed lymphedema in the breast along with "cording." The technical name for cording is "Axillary Web Syndrome." When cording occurs, it feels like a painful swollen bruise. Then palpable cords develop under the skin. I have had them in my armpits, going down my arm, and under my ribs. They last for a couple months, then disappear only to come back in another spot. Lymphedema usually occurs in the arm, and is more common after several lymph nodes have been removed. I only had three lymph nodes removed, and the lymphedema in my breast seems to finally be dissipating, three years after surgery. I have other issues following breast cancer treatment; if you are unlucky enough to develop cancer, keep in mind that the treatments lead to other issues that you have to deal with.
    Good luck to everyone facing this diagnosis.

      Your story is also my story, although I am less than one year past surgery. I never found a lump, no signs of cancer, Dr never felt it either. It was located far back against the chest wall. It was less than 1 centimeter in size but the mammogram picked it up. I am so thankful I was able to have surgery and radiation treatment early. Good luck to anyone going through this.

      Yes. Now, many doctors are saying that cancers are being overdiagnised and overtreated. So many women have all these problems because they are being treated for a cancer that never would have killed them because it is so slow growing. They would have died of something else first.

I'm uninsured so i can't afford a mammogram here in the US but luckily live near the border & plan to go get one & if i can afford it, a CT or MRI scan. My mom had her mastectomy in Mexico because she was also uninsured at the time & couldn't pay for it. At the time, it cost about $4k in Mexico.

    What if you have a lot of these signs plus a lump under your arm? I’m 31 with no insurance and have had a previous lumpectomy on my other breast but it wasn’t cancerous.

      I would watch it. My breasts are very lumpy due to scar tissue from 4 years of nursing through ducted thrush. It basically feels like broken glass going through breast tissue. They're not growing though and have been there for at least the past two years. The yeast finally resolved, the doctors wouldn't treat it, but I keep an eye on it and it hasn't changed. I think that's the key.

    I found a lump around 8 months ago and since then 2 more have apperaed. I can't get a doctors appointment until sept 5th 2023. Just for my own peace of mind can you clairfy what they mean by cancer lumps wont move? They seem to move in my opinion. So does that mean not to worry? I have nipple discharge but its in both breast but the lumps are only in the left breast. 2 are in the upper inner quadrant and one is in my aereola to my right of the nipple. Should i go the the e.r or is it ok to wait until sept 5th?

    Family history is important. I caught Brest cancer at age 28, and had lumps removed since age 16. My breast had a dimple with orange peal skin. I also had discharge .

    • @knowyourlemons
      @knowyourlemons Před 3 lety +3

      Correct, but over 85% of breast cancer cases are the first in their family to get it. Just because you don't have a family history doesn't mean you won't get it (or that you will).

    can you make video for why Dense breast its more prone to get breast cancer

    • @knowyourlemons
      @knowyourlemons Před 3 lety +5

      Dense breasts are linked to increased risk of breast cancer and they make it much more difficult to see breast cancer on the scans. Dense tissue shows up as white, just like breast cancer, so it's easy for breast cancer to "hide".
