    My problem was a short. Your detailed information definitely made the troubleshooting a lot easier. I found the short within the fuse block itself and with the wire between the fuse block the relays. I ended up putting an inline fuse and new wire to the relays. thank You

    In the middle of a diagnosis with the same exact symptoms. Wiring between the junction and trailer relays is now first on my list, thanks.

    Man, I'm glad I saw this! My 2002 has the exact same problem. I started to dive into it but with 4 grandkids running around I didn't get very far. I can't wait to explore these solutions.

    Good video man. Thank you. I ran another wire from the fuse box to the relays replacing the dark green with orange stripe and BOOM!!! Problem solved. Thank you again.

    So we replaced a utility bed to a flatbed with a liftgate, and have never got the wiring right since.
    I'm thinking that if I watch this 5 or 6 more times, I'll get it. Thx.

    Do you know where the trailer ark light relay is at in a 2002 f350 power stroke I have checked resistance in wire from 7 pin to fuse box it is good I have owner from switch to fuse box but no power reaches the trailer wire in back of fuse box the relays in the engine don't do anything for the park lights in trailer

    I have a 2002 F350 and the trailer lights just stopped working. I can turn on the running or parking lights and both elements light up, if I turn on the flashers it's just a bright light. The flashers work but not is the lights are on and the right turn signal does not blink. I am looking for some kind of a short between brake and running lights. I swapped all the relays around and no change and fuses look good. Is there a relay both of these signals are together in? Thanks Kyle

    I replaced my 7 pin pigtail from the factory connector to the bumper. The old one had power when I hooked my fifth wheel to it but now it has no power all of my lights on my truck work I’m thinking something might’ve happened at the factory connector when I took the old pigtail out. What do you think?
    Mine is a 2000 F250

      I couldn't really say. Go back to one of the comnnectors I showed in the video and check for power there. The 2000 might be a little different than this 2002.

      @@prodieselrepair3218 it was the factory connector , I guess it was so corroded when I undid the old pigtail that it pulled some of the connectors out. I took a tester and tested each wire at the connection and I had power so ultimately I wound up cutting off the old connector and the connector on my new pigtail, soldering and heat shrinking the wires together. Thanks for the video.

    So I have 2000 F350. The blinkers and lights work but not the brake lights. Would a bad relay do the same thing?

    • @prodieselrepair3218
      @prodieselrepair3218  Před 4 lety

      Shoot bud I'm really sorry I haven't responded sooner. I assume you're talking about the brake lights on the pickup and not a trailer. One thing to check is there is possibly a separate fuse for the brake lights. Also the switch on the pedal itself needs to be checked. And finally the two wires that would be for your brake lights run through the turn signal switch in the steering column. It does that because it has to cancel the brake light on the side you choose to turn on and now has to blink. Best to get a wiring diagram and check out everything the brake light circuit goes through. That one I use in this video I just googled and got it from a forum somewhere

    You telling me this damn Ford doesn.t get its trailer turn signal and brake lights from the tail lights them self like a normal vehicle. So truck can still have turn signals and brake lights but the trailer supply goes back to different fuses than the trucks what ... No wonder my head hurts messing with this thing today.

    • @twatson6252

    • @twatson6252
      @twatson6252 Před 3 lety

      Can't I just tie into the tail lights as I have always did on other vehicles I do not want this b.s.

    • @prodieselrepair3218
      @prodieselrepair3218  Před 3 lety

      @@twatson6252 your 99 is a little different than this 2002. They have separate circuits so that the circuits don't get overloaded. Your 99 has two fuses. One for each trailer brake light/turn signal. They are in the engine fuse panel.
