Final Gohan = SSJ2+Mystic form,I like to think of it similar to gokus SSB+Kaioken form.
I think they had Piccolo change color because they felt sorry for him for not catching up with Goku. Just like people felt sorry for Gohan for not taking over the spotlight, and be the new hero in his father's place.
I liked the Super Heroes movie over all, it offered something fresh by expanding the DB lore and developing other characters that are not Goku and Vegeta. It wasn't perfect but definitely a worth rewatching, which is something I plan to do đŻ
I now like how saiyans have growth spurts, or why gohan can't catch, and piccolo cant drive do to never getting his license đ€Ł

I think Gohans energy represents balance. White angelic hair but surrounded by purple destructive energy. It's what whis has been trying to get through to vegeta and goku.
Interesting idea, I actually like that a lot! It ties in nicely to Gohan being tied to the Kaioshins too because they're the middle ground between Gods of Destruction and their Angels.

Definitely was thinking the same thing! His speed and combat prowess reeks of UI. His overall bravado and battle hungry personality lines up with UE. His overall tone is reminiscent of SSJ2 but with the polish of Ultimate/Mystic Gohan.
Now Gohan and piccolo got the new form.its better they start the training and learn new ability.
Itâs always been interesting to me. Gohanâs potential has always been so high but unlike his father and vegeta who are full Saiyans. I feel like his emotions effect him more due to him also being human. Especially because of how emotional humans can be in comparison to saiyans
You know how Oozaru are so powerful and get more and more anger. The Humans and Saiyans emotions are different the Saiyans was a savage race of power, pride and fighting in universe 7. Okay Humans have meaning different emotions mix the two you have a extreme power boost and Gohan. Who has become more enraged than any other character in the whole serie.
It's them P-Cells or smt. Vegeta was talking about them with Nappa, but the concept hasn't returned since them

I am in the belief that Gohans Transfornation may be something similar to Vegetas, something drawn from within, Gokus is actually very different in the sense that anyone could learn it but with Gohans and Vegetas it is a strict result of their personalities so to speak. Gokus Ultra Instinct is the flow state in its purest form, a fitting form for the man whos life is eat, train, sleep, repeat. Vegetas Ultra Ego is literally drawn from his sheer self confidence that has stood the test of many sorrowful beatings. And Gohans is drawn from something a little darker, Gohans Ssj2 transformation was also similar, Gohan became colder in that form, but in this state, it seems his mind has a pure focus to simply delete whatever entity dared touch his friends.

goku was also being lead towards UI his entire life, roshi taught him the true blue basics, mr.popo a being who was born in otherworld and sent to earth taught him to move faster than lightning but be as calm and quiet as the sky, korin taught him how to control his breathing, king kai taught him how to properly control ki (kai-o ken) and obviously whis taught him to try and allow his body to move on its own. and all of these masters also told him to build his mind as well as his body

Gohan Beast is Ultimate Gohan mixed with Super Saiyan 2. It's pretty obvious design wise as well. They did this so that in the future whenever he get's god Ki, he will still have Ultimate Wrapped around whatever new forms he uses. Thus making all his forms UNIQUE to himself as he always wanted.

with the original purpse from toriama he had a shoter hair and white but in the anime they made a differnet version of ssj3 for goku
If you saw gohan face after he smirks at cells giant blast he was about to start toying with cell but then piccolo snapped him out of it and his face became serious again. I think gohan going down the path of Kaiâs is very smart, most Kaiâs are quite peaceful as we have been shown so far besides zamasu. Goku-Angel Vegeta- destruction- Gohan-Kaiâs
Nice observation. Gohan DOES tend to get a bit cocky whenever he gets a significant power boost like this. Just goes to show that he's matured a lot since he first went Super Saiyan 2.

Look at the way Gohan tanked Cell Max' full power punch and didn't budge a millimeter.
I read somewhere that in the storyboard or Toriyama's notes or something that the reason Cell Max made that last ditch giant blast was out of terror of Gohan's Power.
Beast Gohan is at least twice as powerful as Cell Max (who is enough more powerful than Broly that Broly would have no chance if Cell Max had a fully developed mind) but we honestly have no way to measure just how high that power gap really is

Key aspect to this form is he didnât hesitate to kill cell max, he dwelled in his power a bit but realised after picallos words, this might be a key scene in explaining a bit about his new power, beast Gohan, where it might be the Yang to his yin, his human/saiyan blood

@@justajobro1266 sure man , but that being said I thought it could be that in this form we get to see more of his saiyan side to him flourish being battle hungry what have you, and being able to decisively kill his opponent. Where as the gohan we know suppresses a lot of his saiyan traits and is more human in nature. Hence his yin and Yang that ultimately makes him the one with the most potential as Vegita puts it the half saiyans..
Cell was almost a human being in a way he had a personality was able to talk and stuff but cell max was not he was actually a braindead savage which low key made him more like a monster so I understand why there wasnât hesitation for gohan
This was the movie we waited for, the two people we really wanted to get so much stronger. Especially Gohan đ„đ„

Piccolo slightly so. Wish he'd get another spot as at least #2 again but Vegeta is too popular. Really the db formula has been set since Z. New enemy, beat new enemy with new transformation or enough to wear them down, rinse and repeat. Db is stuck with this framework unfortunately

I love this, Iâm so glad this is happening. Gohan definitely deserves to be up there with the likes of Goku and Vegeta cus he has Saiyan blood within him, a race with no limits. Ty Toryiama for finally after all these freaking years giving us Gohan a power up so that u can use him more often in more dire and important roles in fights in the story for DB in the future! I just watched the movie 20 mins ago and the movie was just fantastic. I thought the plot really was gonna be a joke but piccolo and pan changed it ever so slightly. Piccolo did the same thing Frieza did for Broly by unlocking that hidden power. I got chills when Gohan went into his beast state! It felt just like when I was a kid and seen him go SSJ2! I really didnât think the movie would be this good if the plot wasnât about Goku or Vegeta just because the side characters donât get much show time but Akira proved that statement wrong. This movie was a 10/10 for me. I just wanted to reminisce about the old gohan and I finally got what Iâve been longing for.
There's definitely a lot of fanservice in this movie and I love it. It's always great when a movie can incorporate plenty of fanservice but not have it overpower the plot.
Bro me and my son went and saw it twice. Heâs 5 I watched all of these series when I was little when they just come out on TV like every Wednesday.. It was so crazy I teared up like five times one of the best endings to any movie Iâve ever seen

I am hoping that if Toyotaro adapts this movie into an arc then we can get an actual explanation of Beast Gohan. Until then I am theorizing that Beast Gohan is a combination of Super Saiyan 2 + Ultimate form similar to how Blue is SSJG + SSJ đ€·đżââïž

Gohan's character even from dragonball z main storyline, has a few moments where Gohan rages and goes berserk on his opponents... (Against frieza on namek, against cell, etc).This transformation, the design, the name - *beast* is beautifully put in place.

Seeing Gohan Blanco was a fantastic sight to witness! Very happy with how it played out in the movie, and hopefully we will see it again in the near future alongside Vegeta and Gokuâš

Can we please just call Piccolo's new power the Ajisa form? The lore Toriyama created for the Ajisa Trees and the symbol created on Piccolo's Gi makes this the most obvious naming development.

I wouldn't be surprised if Orange Piccolo got another name later on down the line, it happened to Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. But maybe this time, rather than simplifying the name, they should take the time and make it sound more "cool" and "official"

Gohan Beast is another "Super Saiyan White" character. Before the Zamasu arc began, Toriyama actually planned for Goku & Vegeta to have white hair instead of blue hair, but it would have color clashed with the new villain in the Zamasu arc who was Zamasu himself or rather Fusion Zamasu. Then in the Tournament of Power arc, Goku received a white haired transformation: Mastered Autonomous Ultra Instinct
Its just Ultra Instinct, there is no autonomous. Also, Goku's hair in MUI form is sipver not white but you're right Toriyama did have white haired form planned.

I believe there was an interview where it was mentioned that after the Cell Saga, it would be the perfect time to transition into an era where Gohan would become the hero of Earth or even the new main character. I believe in that same interview, they mentioned wanting to give him a form with white hair and a white aura to sumbolize "being the light to ward off darkness/evil" which I believe ended up being Mystic/Ultimate Gohan in the future. As we've seen in super and now in the movie, when he transforms into his Ultimate form when clouds block up the sky, his power completely disperses the clouds like "being the light to ward off darkness" as was mentioned. Personally, the most logical explaination of this form would be a transcended Ultimate form with the white hair being a call back to their original idea
Yeah Gohan was positioned to take over the mantle as protagonist but then took a back seat again. Glad to see he's still getting some spotlight though!

Toriyama was struggling to make Gohan as engaging to follow as Goku in the Buu arc. So he made the choice to bring Goku back and push Gohan to the side.
Hopefully there's an actual explanation for it and he became more "beastly" when in this form. It would create a nice contrast of nice, calm gohan in normal state and beast gohan. Gohan's power boost moment aside from third party help is always when he's angry or full of emotion. Intentionally letting his emotion let loose and be as wild as possible would be a cool way for him to grow. Also completely contrasting his dad's method of training to control his ki (SSB) and control emotion (UI)

Gohan will become the SSJ4 in this canon. Being half human/saiyan, it would only make real since for him to have humanoid form of the great ape. I think Beast Gohan is just like UI omen.
No that will most likely be Broly, he has the humanoid Great Ape form already. Gohan said he wants to evolve as a human, not a Saiyan.
Gohan and Broly seem to be the two most likely candidates for a canonical version of Super Saiyan 4. Regardless of who gets it, it would be really cool to see them interact and train with each other.

@@Moshuun his potential comes from his human side, not his Saiyan side. going the SSJ4 route and using Oozaru would go against that. he doesn't need Oozaru to be strong, his own unlocked potential is enough.
I went to see this with my friends and my girlfriend came along and when gohan transformed everyone lost their shit and she was like yall are a bunch of grown men cheering and i was like we all grew up watching this and waited years for this to happen đ
When I saw the movie in theaters, there were a few people who got extremely hype over it because they hadn't seen the spoilers. It was a great experience, I loved seeing everybody get hype for Gohan again

Being forced into fighting against his own free will, and not being allowed to make his own choices in life. Not to mention, being afraid of his powers after loosing control and causing the death of his dad. That can all be understandable.

When Piccolo finally unleashed that "little extra" I literally got emotional. May sound stupid but to see Piccolo(maybe the character on a personal level I relate to the most) finally get his due that he deserved, it was like a childhood dream finally reached. I grew up in the late 80s and 90s so in the US I watched it as it was released. Piccolo in my opinion is the the bravest and possibly the best strategist. To see Gohan snap because he truly believed Piccolo was dead made the hair raise on my body. I love this series because it has always stuck to being the fantastic entertainment it is and allows for true imagination go take over. I will forever be in debt to Akira Toriyama for even in my darkest days he kept my imagination alive. I now share this passion with my son and youngest daughter. It was an honor to take them to see the movie together. Thank you!!!!
I remember Piccolo going Giant/Super Namek even if it was not called that in Dragon Ball. An see him going Giant/Super Namek in the movie that was one of the great moments.
Especially how he's treated in super, of all characters Piccolo needed a power boost

I first watched DBZ back in the Mid 90s... It was on the planet namek saga before Goku showed up. Gohan was the main character in the episode I watched. This movie brought me back there.
SETTING GOHAN UP TO BE NEXT IN LINE TO BE A KAI IS AMAZING đ IT FITS WELL KNOW THAT ITS ALOT OF LEARNING AND STUDYING WITH BEING A KAI, THAT'LL ALSO MEAN VEGETA WOULD BE TOUGH ON GOHAN KNOWING THAT HE MAY BE NEXT IN LINE TO BE A GOD OF DESTRUCTION SINCE THEY'RE LIVES WOULD BE CONNECTED .
That would be a really cool story concept actually.

Gohan absolutely deserves this new form. It's a unique callback to the same mysterious potential he harbored throughout the entire series. Can't wait to see the reactions of Goku, Vegeta, and the rest of the gang. It's not just about training. It's about being your truest self and Gohan always does things HIS way.
While it's incredibly unlikely, I'd love nothing more than for Gohan's Inner Beast to be his Inner Ox Demon.

im 100% sure im not the only one who had this reaction when i first saw it but isnt it crazy that remember way back like 2010 or so and even before fan art of sjj 5 was all white hair with red eyes it honestly made it so much cooler to look back and remember those days when i was a kid waiting for ssj 5 to come and basically it did with beast form ;-; it made the movie 10x better

i believe gohans new form is a amped version of his mystic form along with his rare sayain rage (just like broly via his eyes). ealier in the movie goku is training broly and tells him to control his rage which he cant. however gohans mystic form alows him to control that rage. which gives you gohan beast or i like to call it "Ultra Mystic"
this is the correct explanation, Toriyama said Beast is based on the sort of awakenings Gohan had as a boy. So it's likely Ultimate multiplied by his rage ability from when he was a kid.
@@mohitnair2541 also a theory that gohans mystic form is a similar version of gokus ultra Instinct because both transformations is a form of the angels. via the white hair. i believe that when gohan uses base mystic (black hair) hes very calm and pesise in his fighting style like goku in UI omen (again black hair). however gohans new mystic form is different because he also has rage which gives him that purple aura like the gods of destruction. so maybe "beast gohan" is perfect mix between the two (angel form and god of destruction). it could be because hes had his protential unleashed several times which is why he can achieve that form. also his human side gives a edge as well.
I like that idea of this form being the physical embodiment of Gohan controlling his rage and turning it into something to amplify his full potential.

He also explained that he was training for something other than super saiyan, hence how he reached this form and not a new super sayain form like he did with super sayain 2,
My theory is what if itâs a combination between him being a saiyan and his ultimate potential. Like a similar formula on how Goku created his own version of UI because heâs a saiyan?

I like how Toriyama named it "Gohan Beast" like the beasts that bring the end of the world (like from Fate Grand Order / Fate Universe). I thought it was an anti-God transformation given that Goku and Vegeta now have god-like powers. Gohan was the "God slayer" or "Beast" but again that's just an opinion and not cannon.
That's a nice theory! It would be pretty cool for there to be god slayer type forms in the series.

In my opinion the movie was a treasure trove of great fan service, piccolo shining and yet also a good amount of missed potential and a Lackluster ending.
I personally thought the fanservice was balanced well enough with the plot and I enjoyed a large chunk of the movie. The beginning felt a bit slow, but I thought the ending was alright
Itâs quite simple, in my opinion it goes like this
The Angel: Son Goku - Using the technique that the gods cannot reach, which the angels have mastered
The God of Destruction: Vegeta - The prince of pride who siphons hakai energy to always get up
The Kai: Gohan - The humble warrior combining the power of potential unleashed and god ki
The God of Earth (Shenron/Kami) - Piccolo, by achieving true balance and getting his power unleashed by Shenron
Wildcards: Broly, need I say more?
Movie definitely had issues... this is the third time we have "unlocked Gohan's potential", but the fight scenes were great, music was phenomenal, and most importantly it was just enjoyable to watch.

I feel like beast Gohan is a super saiyan version of Ultimate Gohan similar to how super saiyan blue is a super saiyain version of super saiyan god (thats alota super saiyans in one sentence damn)
That's a nice way of looking at it, I actually thought that way too when I first learned about the form.
Probably not the exact same thing as SSJB being the "SSJ" version of Super Saiyan God, but maybe the concept is the same. Gohan going Super Saiyan ON TOP of his Ultimate form.
Itâs probably a mix of Ultimate Gohan, Super Saiyan, and Gohanâs rage boosts. Like I think itâd make sense if he could only access this form while really pissed off and with no inhibitions.
I still hate that they didn't call the Red form just Saiyan God, so Blue would just be Super Saiyan God.

With this new form for gohan, I like to think that its a mix of Ultimate and SSJ. Kinda like how SSG was mixed with SSJ to make SSB. But i'd love to hear your guy's thoughts on this.

Honestly, my initial though was that he was similar to Broly.
Broly is the legendary super saiyan with incredible potential. My thoughts are that Gohans form is something kinda similar, the difference in biology being the reason his form is different.
The first reason for this is that, despite both goten and trunks being literal prodigies, both going super saiyan at the ripe ages of 3 and 4, no one talks about their âuntapped potential to be the strongestâ. Yet this has been repeatedly stated about Gohan, much like people say the same thing about Broly.
This makes me think that perhaps Gohan is some sort of legendary half-saiyan.
The second reason is because the both have some connection to the great ape form. When Gohan first goes SSJ2 against cell, there is a faint sound of an great ape roar in the background of his yell.
It has been stated in DBS: Broly that Broly taps into the great ape form without Turning into a great ape. Beast gohan is clearly a spin on super saiyan 2, which is linked to the great ape. This leads me to think that perhaps this beast form is how gohan is taping into the power of the great ape without turning into one. It would also then make even more sense why his form is called beast gohan.
The last reason is because of the places their powers go to. Gokuâs ultra instinct is similar to the angelâs power, and Vegetaâs ultra ego similar to the god of destructions powers. Yet both Broly and Gohan, (though Gohans form does look similar to ultra instinct) have no power that they lead into. There are several gods of destruction, and several angels, but only 1 legendary saiyan (in their universe, I keep forgetting Kefla exists) and only 1 beast saiyan. These 2 are one of a kind powers that nobody has seen.
A point against this theory is that gohan looks like ultra instinct, so maybe he is just taping into that. The only real counter point to that is flimsy, just that if it was ultra instinct it would be called ultra instinct. Maybe this is ultra instinct and something else combined, a power combination we have only seen gohan do to lead to beast saiyan form.
All in all, this is just my little theory on what it is. If gohan isnât some legendary half-saiyan, it make me hope we will get to see goten and trunks, and see a movie where they get a unique form, even if it isnât insanely strong.
Also, why does no one talk about how they are literal prodigies? Like they achieved something incredible for fun, and Goku nor Vegeta talk about it. Like come on man, show my boys some love for cryin out loud

@@theepheonix1700 Honestly this theory makes sense to me. Especially when thinking back to all the times when Gohan has gotten stronger or gotten back into the world of fighting with a few days or hours in Dragon Ball Super's case. A Legendary Half-Saiyan sounds really cool!

Gohan's new form is cool but I don't really like how the writers just decided to make him OP out of nowhere. Yes he has high potential but he stopped fighting for a long time, doesn't train anymore only fights if earth is in danger. Gohan can get near the level of goku & vegeta but those two are constantly fighting and training everyday. It wouldn't make sense for Gohan to catch up out of nowhere unless he decided to train for 10 years in hyperbolic time chamber lol.
Nah. Gohan got back his mystic form after he trained with piccolo and goku. Gohan at age 11 was already stronger than ssj goku and vegeta and was the only one to get ssj2 for years! Until the buu saga came and vegeta and goku mastered ssj2 and goku with 3. Even then it was stated Mystic Gohan was stronger than SSJ3 goku. Gohan always had the potential piccolo stressed this a thousand times in the movie. Gohan knocked out radiz with a head but at the age of 6. Listen to your self my man. Gohan not suppose to be himself and be the OP character Goku risked his life for Gohan to achieve?
I agree that sometimes, it sucks that Gohan (and Future Trunks to an extent) can just asspull forms and become stronger than the characters who train each and every day. But I can also see that there's big story significance behind each time they asspull a form because they're hybrid saiyans and are known to have higher potential.

Its the same with frieza if I'm honest he trained for 6 months n got to ssb level from being just ss level. Now he even has his new black form that's stronger then ui goku. So gohan gettin his flowers doesn't bother me.

One thing you missed, he's a Hybrid Saiyan. They have proven that their pure heart naturally makes them strong, alongside the rage that fuels Saiyans allowing their power to surge even higher. How many times has Gohans' rage been unleashed, and it resulted it a power surge?
Also, one thing I always thought was interesting, is he's had his potential awakened twice to my knowledge. How much fucking potential does he have?!
First Grand Elder Guru, then Elder Kai. I can't remember them all, but as of now there are two instances when Gohans' rage caused an explosion of power, that directly resulted in a transformation. Cell games, well after Elder Guru, and now, well after Elder Kai

That's a cool concept, a form taking over the mind of the user. We've kinda seen it with the SSJ Berserk form in Dragon Ball Heroes, but that'd be a cool thing to see at some point in the main series.

Itâs pure headcanon but I think itâd make sense if Orange Piccolo was around SSB or Golden Frieza level, while Beast Gohan is Ultra Instinct/Ultra Ego or even Black Frieza tier.
Gohan would be Grand Priest level or a little higher making him a threat and Pan having hidden power like her dad. Also makes her a threat which would lead to the Z Fighters having to fight the G.O.D. and Angels. But somehow they would have to reason with Zeno showing they are not a threat that is why I see the movie also as non-canon.
Orange Piccolo being SSB or Golden Frieza level seems reasonable, I like that idea. Beast Gohan being on the tier of the stronger characters is also very realistic, so seems like you're right!
No not really yellow..The Gamma we're stated to rival Goku and Vegeta... orange Piccolo is beyond blue Goku and Vegeta and even put somewhat of fight against Cell Max.

Allow me to summarize:
We needed Gohan to be relevant again so we used his âlatent potentialâ as an excuse and made him saiyan rage into a power up (without training) with a severely rushed plot and nobody important actually died.
Letâs be honest, not even Goku or vegeta wouldâve fallin for that whole âoh no pan is in dangerâ bs
I think it actually would've been better if Gohan Beast was activated out of Gohan thinking Pan died during that purple blast sequence. It would've been nice if we didn't know she survived, then Gohan transformed, and then when the fight is over we see Pan flying successfully.

I like to think that Gohan somewhat was able to tap into the god ki realm, and just like SS Blue is the SSGod +Super Saiyan, this beast form would be SSGod+Ultimate form. And since Ultimate is waaay stronger than a regular Super Saiyan, that form is then, far stronger than the SS Blue. I think that Beast Gohan is at least at Blue Evolution/Blue+Kaiokenx20 power level, maybe a bit higher, but not at Ultra Instinct/Ego level.

In my opinion, Beast is like a combination of the best features of every previous super form we've seen. It's activated through anger like the original Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2, it's an enhancement of the Unleashed Potential form like how Super Saiyan Blue is an enhancement of Super Saiyan God, and it unlocks Gohan's full power just like Ultra Instinct does for Goku. It's even reminiscent of Super Saiyan 4, with the way "the wild beast within has awakened."
I really enjoyed this breakdown of the form it's a lot of things I didn't even remember. I agree with the theory about Gohanâs connection to the Kais too but all in all, id give the movie a solid 8-8.5 maybe

For Gohan saying he wanted to become stronger using his human form, Gohan sure borrowed Super Saiyan 3 for Gohan beast form. It seems no matter what Gohan does, his Saiyan side will always be present in Gohan's transformations. So I really can't say it's a unique form.
Beast Form has absolutely nothing to do with Super Saiyan 3.

I thought it was in the Ultra tier. While Goku is instinct because of he strives to be the best for its own sake, and Vegeta is ego because he strives to be the best for himself and his pride, Gohan would likely be Ultra Empathy because he only wants to be strong to protect others and his power only appears when others are in danger.

I find the Beast form similar to that of Brolys âwrathâ form. Different Iris colors, heighten strength ALL coming from a saiyan with no tail..but can utilize the power of the giant ape form.
Also the whole âoriginal super saiyanâ concept that Toriyama had I think is nice. And it could be him and the creators going back to that concept.
Idk why people think this has to do with the Kaiâs as gohan at NO point had any interaction with GodKi. Not saying he canât at some point, but tbh..Iâd personally like to have not very character have god ki and use their own power.
Actually Gohan had trained in secret. He told Piccolo himself, that's why he learned the Makankosappo. That's why he was able to achieve his battle instincts so rapidly, contrary of what happened during Frieza's first resurrection. You have to remember that Gohan achieves a new form with training and with his anger.

Like had the movie hinted at him training a bit or maybe shown him hiding something from videl and the gang then it would make more sense. But it was just a casual âoh yeah Iâve been training hahaâ after performing a massive SBC and doing a new transformation.
I just personally think this transformation couldâve been better handled and introduced than a slight rehash of a much better done scene from the past
@@Lurkai Agree. It should be handled better, like many other theme in the movie. I believe the producers wanted to focus on the CGI battles (which was bad idea imo) and toss away some important details. Maybe the DB Super anime will touch these details.

Hear me out, Ultimate Super Saiyan. Gohanâs Ultimate form reverts his hair back to black even though it is stronger than his Super Saiyan transformations. This could be because Ultimate Gohan might take on a new base form of power kind of like Super Saiyan God does with Goku. Maybe Gohan has learned to tap into his Super Saiyan form while remaining in the Ultimate state. That would explain the hair growth and color change, along with the change in eye color as well.

Itâs a spin off of dragon AF super saiyan 5 and was created by Toyo toro. The af form is achieved by tapping into the primal power of the saiyan. So with the name beast gohan. You can see the inspiration
Didn't they mention that the Kai's were an entirely separate being? I don't think there's a connection to him becoming a kaioshin one day, but that form being influenced by the Kai's I can see.
I don't necessarily mean that he'll become a Kaioshin, I just think it's a nice nod to have this form colored after them. The Kaioshins were responsible for unlocking his potential, so in a way, they could be considered Gohan's "teacher" just like how Goku and Vegeta have their forms colored after their respective teachers.
The beast forms seems a combination things:
1. Since gohan being linked to the Kais and his form resembles the calmness of UI Goku, while the transformation from mystic form to Beast in a rage like ssj2 and Aura of Ego Vegeta.
2. Gohan being linked to the kai's, his outer aura has a resembles to his ultimate/mystic form or this could be his true mystic form just like UI and MUI.
I would love to see a Dragon Ball spin-off focusing on Gohanâs career as a researcher/professor and balancing that career with his family life and Z-hero adventures. Sort of Dragon Ballâs take on the Spider-Man / Peter Parker dynamic.

I personally think Beast looks this way because it's his potential unleashed (white aura) pushed to the max using a form he's familiar with (ssj2) basically a Potential Max Form

Folks need to go back and watch Goku vs Broly carefully, cos up until now everyone has assumed that during his transformation into blue, he flashed MUI. Watch it again - although his hair goes white/silver, Goku's eyes flash red - which we now know is beast form. Beast is likely an ultimate Saiyan form, not necessarily exclusive to Gohan. This means potentially both Goku and Vegeta have access to it also.
I just got done reading Chapter 87 DBS of the manga. I believe Whis is talking about Gohan being the strongest in the universe or should say multiverse. That would mean it is canon but the timeline makes no sense. Because they have not been no timeskip well Gohan finally faces off with Freeza. That is how I'm seeing it going and Gohan being the one to kill Black Freeza in his near omni power up form. But they will screw it up with Goku.
I'd like to see Black Frieza vs Gohan Beast, that would be a fun matchup

I just assumed it was Gohan going super saiyan while in Mystic/Ultimate form.
It's most likely a similar concept. He transformed as a result of rage, so his power broke through the potential that was already unlocked by the Kaioshins.
SS Rage... Trunks took ascended Saiyan but didn't bulk up... and scratched on the surface of SSJSS. Pretty clear from a few things. 1. His eyes went white. That's rage.. like broly. He went blue lightning.. but didn't get ss2 hair... so it's ss ascended. But.. he didn't bulk up... so it's a "pure" ss ascended. Then... he got the blue aura. just a little. So he touched SSJSS VIA SS ascended.
So like how Goku hit blue by pushing SS God to ss....... Trunks pushed ss ascended to blue via rage.
