  • During my first 100km cycle, I had really bad lower back pain & sharp shooting pains in my knee near the end of the ride. A lot of you suggested me to get a proper bike fit done so I took your advice and did it! I'm going to do more rides with this new bike positioning and see if it helps 🚴🏻‍♀️

    You are leaning forward when doing a no hand test while pedalling. I am surprised that the bike fitter move your saddle forward. You will be experiencing more pressure in the hands.

    Thank you for videos. Fun to watch ;) I have one observation, when I got my new bike I realized that the seat was less slippery than from previous bike and I didn’t like that because the friction was not between the seat and the shorts, but between the shorts and my skin because the shorts were stuck to the seat, so I put the seat from old bike. Be safe, have fun, always looking forward to your new videos.

      Being a manager of a bike shop finding a good bike fitter is hard. I always recommend people get a professional fit but I always enjoy fitting people the best I can before they leave. I'd say I get them 90% where they need to be but a pro fitter can get them dialed.

    Very nicely edited video and loved your energy!!! I was confused why he moved your saddle forward! If you’re experiencing pressure in the hands, try moving the saddle a few MM back. This raises the height of the saddle without having to change the seat post. Hopefully it takes some pressure off the hands! All pressure should be on your sit bones!

    • @tenthai
      @tenthai Před 2 lety +1

      @@sherrybyw I learned a great deal after my first bike fit and trying to solve my on-bike problems. Just know that everything is connected. If you shift saddle height or make any change it will affect other parts of the contact points. Your arm looks straight out locked it needs more bend to relieve pressure. Moving saddle back few mms might help but note that it will change other things. You should always feel comfortable on your bike. Also noticed that when you pedal your toes are pointed down a lot. Think of doing squat, you wont squat with your toes you do it with your mid foot or the heels down. Try to do some few mins of Glute activation exercises before your ride. It will help you. Push down pedal with your heels instead of your toes.

    This bike was really easy to assemble czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.

    by and large, road bikes have uncomfortable geometry that requires a lot of core strength to hold, which no amount of fitting helps. As mentioned, more core strengthening exercises is good. Don't buy into the marketing/myth that road bikes are inherently better. The best bike is one that suits your riding. If anyone prefers a long relaxing ride on roads, hybrids with a more upright riding position, coupled with a good road group set would be more suitable.

      @@ronitdebnath I disagree with this. I've had a Retul bike fit and it's worked out great for me. The one flaw with Retul is the sit bone measurement. Most people don't sit like that on a bike so it's not the most accurate measurement.

    I am not a bike fitting expert, but that move saddle forward didn't feel right to me. I notice that you have a fairly short stem, but the reach was still stretched (before the move) , making me to think if the frame size is a little too large. Just a thought ... congrats on the fit!

    • @yannickokpara4861
      @yannickokpara4861 Před 2 lety +1

      Saddle fore-aft is primarily dictated by the relationship of anterior-posterior muscle activation and center of gravity(stability). It is set irrespective of reach. To be fair to the reach assumptions, I think you should consider that her shoulders are not rounded and shoulder blades not protracted and upwardly rotated, and she is also not positioning her hands away from the hoods. Perhaps it just looks a bit more strenuous in her upper body, because she was not well supported on her seat before. Admittedly it is pretty difficult to assess, because there are so many variables going into how and why we move certain ways.
