Speaking as someone who is a casual enjoyer of deep lore games (Kingdom Hearts, Trails, Dark Souls), I kind of like the current direction that five nights at Freddy's is taking as well💯
Okay that and Vanessa... And Roxanne😅
Look, my favorite animé growing up were Sonic X and Bleach: play had a major influence on my taste in waifus💖

I don't have any problems with any of the Security Breach designs, they are a different take on the franchise, a breath of fresh air, a unique era. That's all fine and better than recycling old ideas ( *ekhem* afton getting revived again *ekhem* )
    My problem is this 4:32
undermining or recontextualising the original games by new authors
it's something that Disney did with Star Wars and it is the thing that turns people off from a franchise
Subpar content doesn't bother people so long as it doesn't affect the original, beloved content. It is when their rot affects the original when we start having problems, like reviving Palpatine.
I'm going off topic here as Security Breach is not "rot", but the idea of devaluing the entirety of the original franchise as games within THEIR new game is an atrocious suggestion

I understand this sentiment but I personally believe that it's a bit more nuanced then that. Scott's development of the games wasn't a premeditated string of events, the games up to the fourth were all made to fix, clarify, or add on something from a previous title, like the famous fnaf 3 wasn't scary, so I made fnaf 4. We wouldn't have gotten to this grand design until sister location, or what I argue to be fnaf world. But now you have these games that while have a direction, wasn't made for the grand direction, so you run into issues like the timeline. Such as fnaf 3 happening 30 years after putting it into 2023. Which with fnaf ar needing to happen after but having email dates from the 2020s conflicts with any cohesive timeline. So I don't think Steel Wool is actively writing away Scott's work. We know that the creator was forced to create them to cover up the actual events as some kind of joke, so the I'm game "games" reasoning is more based around fixing those issues of Scott's titles that didn't work for cohesion, as so far we haven't had anything that's disproved the events of the fnaf series, but hints at the timeline of the series
