  • The original Nickelodeon Universe theme park is located in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. This park originally opened as Camp Snoopy, but it was transformed into the world's first Nickelodeon themed amusement park in 2008. When the American Dream Mall in New Jersey opened in 2019, it included the second Nickelodeon Universe theme park. But is the new one better than the original? Find out in this park battle!

I must admit I’m impressed with NJ version but nothing compares to the original. Sure NJ will one day probably be better simply because of ingenuity and structure that Moa can’t adapt to, but it’s something about Moas nostalgia that NJ just can’t beat. I went to the NJ version yesterday and really liked it. I got the Twilight Admission, which is a reduced price for the last two hours of the day. I went on TMNT Shellraiser four times and also Slime Streak twice. TMNT is a world class coaster, and it even suspends you with a direct view of NYC through the window. Although Slime Streak is a moderate family coaster, I enjoyed it more because it only has minimal T-bar restraints. I'm hoping that the New Jersey park is still a work in progress and will eventually surpass the Mall of America park. On top of that, the MOA park is in the center of the mall, which means there's no place to expand. The New Jersey park is on the outer edge of the mall. Additionally, the New Jersey mall has a water park and ski slopes to add to the attractions outside the amusement park. The bottom line is there is much more potential in New Jersey whereas in the Mall of America, it's seems more of a done deal.

I now am in PA so closer to American Dream and should give it a go just for the sake of it all but seeing this video: made me miss MOA and Our “indoor” park so much and realize it IS the better place. I know you didn’t cover the amenities of each respective mall, but I felt you failed to mention Fly Over America that’s within Nick Universe. While not affiliated, it is one very fun attraction. "These parks rely on the mall's food options"
Lol, if only there were tenets in American Dream. As of last month when I went, the only "restaurant" open was a Dunkin Donuts. I don't see this getting any better honestly. With American Dream opening up during a Pandemic, as well as its isolated location and being worlds away from any sort of public transit, and the fact they are planning to CHARGE for parking (at a f#$&ing mall)... why would literally any business want to pay rent at a place that actively discourages people from casually coming in to shop in this way? The ONLY people I could imagine visiting the place are tourists who are simply there to go to the waterpark or amusement park, as I was. & given the insane, mind boggling price of admission to the 2 parks, NOBODY in their right mind is going to want to spend even more money in the mall afterwards.
I get the reasons for a fixed entry price at the waterpark, but the way they structured Nickelodeon Universe is idiotic. Although I was there specifically for the waterpark, it sure was sad to pass up on Sandy & Shellraiser since I couldn't just pay per ride. Charging $70 for a park with literally 2 rides I actually care about is so dumb.
Although the waterpark does slap, I can't help but somewhat cheer for the downfall of American Dream's current management. They are so elitist for thinking people would come out in droves to pay 3x the normal rate for a waterpark AND be willing to deal with $20 parking fees... AT A MALL. It's just wrong.

I don’t know where he got 30 dollars from.. not true and I go to that mall all the time.. the rides do get service while ur there but it’s for safety reasons bc u don’t want to b stuck in a ride for hours if it gets damage.. Jersey has very strict rules about that.. the locations isn’t bad and I don’t care about glass ceiling.. for that then go to great adventure and do it all outside.. the log ride can’t compare to splash mountain at Disney world..
