Great video kids. I heartily suggest the rafting trip through the Grand Canyon.....I did it twice and both remain lifetime highlights for me now at 70 years old. Can't backpack any more but i love watching other folks trips. Isn't CZcams great!!? Looks like I'll have to check out your other videos. Stay safe, be well and take good care of one another.

I stabbed a reservation on October 18th-21st! We rarely go hiking/camping, but im going to start taking my son, he's a indoor savant lol. I know it's going to be tough on him but i think this is the perfect start to get him interested, plus a good digital detox altogether for both of us. Before we get there on the 17th im going to swing him up to the Sand Dunes in Colorado as an additional bonus. We live in central TX.

My family and I did this hike 2004,my youngest being 8. She hiked all the way to the bottom by herself. The family took the mule back up I hiked and beat them. I didn’t pay for any permit at the time but I am also Comanche, Native American.
My wife and I hiked from north rim to the bottom and back last year at 60. It took 8 hrs but we did it and there was a heat advisory! Love the outdoors! Love God!

Very useful information, thank you! I've got a permit for the end of July and I'm curious if you're able to sleep in your car near the trailhead the night before you depart on the trail
Unfortunately you are not allowed to sleep at trail head! The earliest you can enter through gate was 5am when we went!

I hiked Havasupai last month. It was my 4th trip. I always love to experience the magic there but the reality is the hassle of the permits, $400 fee, the actual conditions and garbage was disappointing. Fossil creek will have to do for me! 😊

Is there any information about a day pass?
Can we start hiking like 3am to avoid the sun on the first day of reservation? or do they really open at 5am? also since the Grand Canyon Cavern Inn closes at 7pm, I should be there prior to the day of my reservation to get the wristbands. is that right?
Yes you have to get there the day before to get wristbands, and when we showed up at 5am the people still weren't there!
I have questions since this is the first adventure hiking that I’m doing, the hiking do we do it by ourselves or is there a guide that take you there? Is if we go by ourselves is there sign that tell us where to go? Thank you very much for all the information.
There are signs that tell you where to go the whole way plus we would recommend downloading All Trails and offline maps!
I would strongly recommend doing some smaller hikes before starting off with a big trip like this too!

I noticed it says photography and videography for commercial use is prohibited and I see you’re monetized. I’m wanting to start a channel myself and was wanting to video it but I saw that and am wondering if that would be an issue. Do you have any insight on this?
Hey! Great question! We just asked the people at the front desk at the lodge when we were checking in the day before we left if filming/posting to social media was fine and they said yes. However, would definitely recommend asking beforehand as the rules can change frequently!

why do i need a permit to walk a dirt trail?
Hell, I can hike in Massachusetts into the back woods 2 miles or less and find way more beautiful waterfall fed creaks streams rivers and swimming holes for free with no restrictions no waiting lists or permits. Nice video though.

Please reconsider using mules. These poor animals are exploited and often times mistreated and then discarded/ killed when spent. Similar to the horse carriage rides in NYC. Please don’t support people who use animals as a commodity.
I think you missed the part where we said we don't recommend them since they are mistreated...we would never advocate for using them.
