    I love how they did this episode to mirror the very first episode of "Emmerdale Farm" back in 1972; it has so many parallels with Jack/Robert both coming back to watch their father's funeral from a distance, wandering round the farm, talking to a woman on horseback etc

    Also the scene where Robert was leaning over the gate and Natasha talking to Robert whilst riding on her horse seems to reminiscences the Original Jack Sugden and Marion Wilks.

    This is sooo sad! And it is a replay of the first episode where Jack returned to his father Jacob's funeral, in many ways! x

      Yes, I thought there was something eerie about The Funeral. On US Soaps when someone dies, they have a Black Cast Member who Sings and has the Cast in Tears as well as the viewers. Whether it was "Precious Lord Take My Hand", or even "You'll Never Walk Alone" from The Man Of La Mancha.

    Jack Sugden was without question one of the best Emmerdale characters of all times it has been nearly a decade and a half since he was killed off in the show off screen from a heart attack same as it has been nearly sixteen years since the actor who played Jack Sugden in Emmerdale passed away from cancer in real life and truthfully the show has not been the same without him since

    The scene where the funeral car goes to the village and Natasha Wylde overlooking while riding on her horse always reminisces the first ever episode of Emmerdale Farm.

      I think that was the idea because he was the first emmerdale character this whole episode was trying to play homage

    "They're better off without me" poor Robert never did stop thinking like that...and more often than not the people around him fortified that thought with their behaviour.💔

    5.42 Think Jack was talking about when Andy burned down the barn, killing Sarah.

  • @laminage
    @laminage Před 6 lety +2

    When I think about Andy burning The Farm with Sarah inside it kind of reminds of The US Soap Opera Guiding Light (whose storylines are so similar) when Rafe Rivera thought his Father's Name and Rep would be ruined as a "Dirty Cop" who was trying to bring down a Major Criminal Ring. He Shot The District Attorney Jeffrey O'Neill whom he thought was trying to ruin the name of his Late Father, he ran came back and did only Two Years In Prison because Jeffrey put in a good word for him. (Jeffrey had his own Skeletons In his Closet).

      Yes, I never understood why Sam and Zak were pall bearers, they weren't that close to Jack really.
      Andy and Daz I understand, Coz Jack was their father figure. Eric Pollard would have been a good choice,. Coz he'd known Jack a lot longer than most of them in attendance, and if Robert was there, he'd of been the fourth
