Lyrics:
London calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared and battle come down
London calling to the underworld
Come outta' the cupboard, ya' boys and girls
London calling, now don't look at us
Phony Beatlemania has bitten the dust
London calling, see we ain't got no swing
'Cept for the ring of that truncheon thing
The ice age is coming, the sun's zoomin' in
The engines stop running, the wheat is growin' thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
London is drownin', and I, live by the river
(London calling) to the imitation zone
Forget it, brother, you can go it alone
(London calling) to the zombies of death
Quit holdin' out and draw another breath
(London calling) and I don't want to shout
But when we start talking I saw you nodded out
(London calling), see we ain't got no high
'Cept for that one with yellowy eyes
The ice age is coming, the sun's is zoomin' in
The engines stop running, the wheat is growin' thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
London is drowning, and I, I live by the river

"I live by the river!" That line has so much power...
I mean…that’s got to be on the short list of greatest covers ever, no?
I'm way more of a fan of the clash than I am Bruce.. And this fucking rocks! Much respect gained.
Joe Strummer is smiling from Heaven!
I'm in awe
@@skinheadyouth66 me to
That was FUCKING RAW, JOE STRUMMER WOULD HAVE BEEN NIGHTY PLEASED WITH IT. PEACE BE WITH YOU MY FRIEND'S.✌️✌️✌️😎😎😎🏴🏴🏴🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

suddenly the crowd realise - this is not a pop song - this is their future
Bruce's guitar strings earned their money on this!
Punk never dies!!!😍
When the soul of the song is steel intact...
Bruce really gets the clash,no one covers their songs like him,the passion is there. God bless the rebels in these times. We will win in the end xxx
aye
Well you can take that back as Sham69 still cover White Riot with the passion it deserves .👍
Goodness what happy memories, as we sang our hearts out with Bruce 'I live by the river 💙❤
@@kathleenmiller4587 Man, Joe would've loved this, especially Hyde Park singing in unison.
@@kathleenmiller4587 no better live performer on this planet than bruce. The audacity to cover this song as well has he does is just jaw dropping! Bruce is💯 boss!
My only "real" rock concert in 58 years... Bruce in Minneapolis, 1984, $13 ticket, 4 hours of music, last encore with the lights up. What a performer!
THIS... is why he is the BOSS.
That’s why he’s the boss.... He loves everything from Punk, Metal, Blues, Root’s to Country and everything in between. 🤘
He DOES have a little bit of everything inside him (& ALL of his band too). Steve kicks ass in this performance - I love his voice, esp here!! They did Punk PROUD & that's all I need to make me smile. Absolutely Fantastic!!
So happy Silvio Dante was able to come out of his coma and perform with Bruce Springsteen
Or is it Frank Tagliano from Lilyhammer😉
It seems that Joe's spirit manifested itself in Bruce in this song.
I was lucky enough to hear this song by Joe Strummer. He sang it in 1991 at a Pogues concert in Berlin where I was. In 2002 Joe Strummer died at the age of 50. I am that old today. RIP Joe and thanks for everything and "The Clash"!
I started going to concerts in the mid 1960s. I saw the very early Rolling Stones (short hair and suits) Roy Orbison, the Beach Boys etc, but I missed Elvis, he was a bit before my time. I've spent most of my adult life following rock music and attending concerts whenever I could. Hearing of those performers who have passed away reminds me of how short life can be, so I still make the best of it, every day. Rock on!
We were there. That was some start - the sound of thousands of us singing “I live by the river” still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
I bet it does mate ,it did me watching on youtube ..plus i loved the song,How the fuck the crowds not going crazy ..i would have done 🤦♂️
I've been to a couple of Springsteen's concerts and they are fantastic. Watching these videos is the next best thing.
The crowd at Craven Cottage still does that it’s the best atmosphere ever!
But it seems he ends the gig with the song, not starts:)
No. Ended with Glory Days. czcams.com/video/gUyOZS-PyTA/video.html
Little Steven got the perfect voice for punk! HAH! :-)
Happy birthday little Steven
Vrdd😆😆😆
cuz he cant sing! 🤪🤪🤪
I love the way Bruce and Stevie can bounce off each other. Awesome.
Every time I think I’ll never see Bruce top himself, he does! There is just nothing this guy can’t do! From his brilliant songwriting (especially his first 3 albums) to his incredible live performances there has just never been anyone quite like him!
Fucking A, I saw the Clash in their prime in the early 1980’s in San Francisco and they crushed that show! Good for Bruce for even attempting to bring that same energy!
Hahaha that aggressive Bruce Springsteen, REALLY A BIG
thank you very much, Mr. Springsteen, for this Hommage to Joe Strummer & the Clash!
Missing Joe Strummer; so glad I'm alive to see, even only online, Bruce S.
The Boss really knows how to start a show! Being a HUGE fan of Bruce and The Clash is making this even better.
I have a new found respect for Bruce now...I haven't been able to stop listening to this song since it was recommended to me and I am now blown away by this performance...wow.
Great tribute to Joe from Bruce. Pure class!
Thank you very much, Bruce. In these days of confinement in Spain it’s a privilege to enjoy this concert that makes me feel alive again. We’ll certainly, come on up for the rising
This song makes me proud to be a Londoner 👊🏼❤️
When the whole audience sings the first chorus. Gives me tears in my eyes.
I love when Bruce and Miami Steve do something like this...long time best friends...there is just a magic about it.
that is pure respect to the heart of the song. Well done!
You know you were badass when the Boss covers your song!!
*Butchers
but the Clash is infinitely better than Brucie lol
@@zay-ju8fb Behave yourself, man, Joe absolutely LOVED Bruce's work.
...and original version is better
@@zay-ju8fb no contest
Woooooooooooow Bruce please come again to Italy!!!!
There are very few, if any, Yanks who can sing such a British classic, to a British audience and get that kind of reaction.
That takes balls.
Thats why hes the boss !
I'm not particularly a Bruce fan, but he performs the shit out of this song. It's cool to see how he does it justice.
Bruce performs the shit out of every song in every concert. I saw him at Milton Keynes in 1993. Two hours of full on, full energy, nothing left on stage, full throated Boss-rock. He is the complete perfomer!!
Tu non stai bene!
Eccoli qui!!! Bruce Steve e la fantastica band!!!😅😅😀😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘🌟🎶💎🎸🎸🎷💫
Grazie Grandissimo Bruce🇮🇹
i love london calling
Sympa l'hommage !!!!
Thanks Bruce ! Hope this kind of magic moment of rock'n'roll will come back soon ! Courage everyone in these hard times !
Absolutely fantastic
The BOSS is a true hero and gentleman
He has written so many great songs,
but he always pays tribute to other
artists by doing such amazing covers
Hey Bruce, please call Your boys and
come back to Europe soon
I will be there for sure
Joe Strummer is turning in his grave
@@dominicthompson7612 I don't think so
He would be proud and happy
@@robertwiesler381 Totally agree.
🕊💙🕊une interprétation magistrale…..
Et ces guitares 🎸 Bravo les Mr Renards 🦊
💃🏾🕊🇫🇷
dear god that was perfect
i know right
One of my favorite artist covering my favorite band THE CLASH, love you and big shout from Dakar, Senegal, west Africa
Love the BOSS from Sicilia, Italia..
I missed the videos here .. still time to say .. 2020 is a spectacular year .. I need the energy of this boy .. he pushes me to life every day .. is the voice necessary for my soul to live .. just love!! 🎶🎶🎸🎸🔥🔥🎸🎸🎶🎶❤️❤️
"2020 is a spectacular year."
Oh, the phrases that take a new turn, in just a few months' time…
Stevie did a fantastic job there... Bruce tried to throw them in there but probably realized he has the world's best band and they have no FLAWS!!
The balls on this guy. Bravo.
Watched this over and over again
YES!! I'm so happy with this release! I can't wait till the entire show is on youtube, because this is literally one of my favourite Bruce's DVDs!! I cannot wait for Racing in the Street and Jungleland! Let us also not forget The Big Man!
Bruce sings punk. Magic song. 👍
Bruce even looks a little like Joe Strummer.
@Spacecowboy Eson the Clash are punk you tool
@Spacecowboy Eson You keep showing your lack of knowledge
@@CB-xr1eg Old Good Friends Looks Alike!
Bruce Springsteen and Joe Strummer seemed as Twin Brothers.
Even their VOICES sounds the same.
Good job by the boss Sprinsteen!
Legendary performance
That was baller! I think the band had fun on that one.
Super, enfin quelque chose pour le début d année, merci BRUCE !!!!!!
I was there! Great gig
Great tribute! Love you Bruce!
Good cover Bruce!Greetengs from Spain!Spreesteng And The Clash FOREVER!🎸🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶😎⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sometimes watching a song makes me get goosebumps. That just happened.. I remember the day Joe Strummer died, and i was devastated. My girlfriend at that time had no understanding at all for my pain...she was expecting me to go on witrh the christmas preparations. That relationship ended soon after that, but Joe and the Clash will always be in my heart!
Awesome. Another great show we will have on CZcams. SWEET!
Great version by 'THE BOSS' ! dx
Extraordinary Performance from a legendary band !!
O cara é foda! Simples assim. Por onde passa , cativa o público , inclusive com músicas de artistas do país onde está.
Thanx Bruce
That song is all about the groove and the E Street band nailed it.
Bruce is one of the big singers of all time - and The E Street Band is great too. No doubt about it! Greetings from São Paulo, Brazil!
You are right
Greetings from Austria, my friend
@@robertwiesler381 Hello, Robert. So good to hear from Austria! Best wishes, dear friend.
Bruce brings the world together. ❤️ from the US
You are the best
London Calling 👍🏻👈🏼🇺🇲
Little Steven not even bothering to learn the lyrics is pure punk.
I guess the problem was
he had to use Bruce's mic, which
was to high for him
So he couldn't read the
teleprompter while singing
That's how Strummer sang it live; honestly Stevie's vocals are wayyyyyy better on this song than Bruce
amazing 😂
A wordy song! Don't realize till u try to sing it. U need young lungs to belt it out while playing. The Boss playing that guitar like it something wrong to him and he's beating it as punishment. Love it! Not sure if I like this though. The tempo and the key aren't pleasing to me.
gold
I got shivers and a tear dripping from my right eye
Maravilhoso e poderoso Bruce, cada vez melhor!
Bruce said in an interview that he tries to perform EVERY SHOW for a guy WAYYY in the back who's never heard of Bruce Springsteen. 200% EVERY TIME!
Bruce e Steve!!tutta la band!!rock and roll!!😇😇😍😍😘😘😘😘🎸🎸🎷♥️💞💓💗💯
classic band mates helping each other out ..this is quality if you see it
Two of the best acts in my life combined, The Clash and The Boss! Bruce squeaks on even more than Mick!
The drummer is the man
Maravilloso!!! ¡Qué genio, gracias por su arte. Gracias por existir!
Bruce sings punk. Magic song. 👍
I want to see Bruceeeeee concert badly❣️ 🤘💋
Holy shit, this is probably the most powerful version of that song I've ever heard
Good yes it was dude but The Clash did it better. Only one Joe Strummed but this dude shows potential Ha,Ha well done to you Mr Springsteen
Guess you've never heard the original
@@RYx222 Already said the Clash did it BEST dude.
Who is the drummer.real cool guy
Whatna band we are all blessed
Bruce And The E Street Band é uma manifestação divina! Espetacular! Magnífico!
This is GR8!! Bruce & the band have roots in jazz, bluegrass, the blues, rock, metal, punk, & pretty much all forms of music. I belive this is the best cover of this song I've heard!! They did Punk PROUD in this performance, & I love Steves voice - esp HERE!! This is amazingly fantastic!! So glad I found it today!! Keep on Rockin - in every way possible!!
We love you Steve!!!
I want to shout "Bruuuuuuuuuce" in live ! Thank you Bruce for this excellent aperitif !
Brilliant 😁😀😎😋
Magique ! Le meilleur c'est vraiment vous Bruce ! Et ça fait toujours le même effet !
MERCI À VOUS BRUCE ! ❤️🎸
Seeing all these people so close together is making my skin crawl now
@orphan 200 2009 - iPhone still a novelty.
Yeah it makes my skin crawl because COVID is over we should be able to have shows like this now but they are going to hold off for another year.
@@dedo7326 yes, it sucks major ass/ if we can make it in one piece by next year that is...
Only The Boss can get away with adding a guitar solo to London Calling. This was f'n ace.
Mick Jones used to add solos to this song back in the day too. Like the version they played on their first US tv appearance and the version on the live at shea stadium album
❤
Bruce and Steve like the Steel Mill!!!!
I'm a huge Clash fan but I had no idea about this......friggin' incredible.
I had my doubts before I played It, Total respect to Bruce & The Band Blinding Cover Jim, Surrey
