  • After our visit to the Moors Valley Railway we made our way north-east to the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway, who were also holding their own gala weekend. Entitled the 'Surrey Borders and Camberley Railway Weekend', this event would see all five surviving ex-SB&CR re-united and running together, all five were built by HCS Bullock. Passenger workings included solo running, double heading and even parallel running at the end of the day.
A little excerpt about the SB&CR taken from another video of the event: "The 10¼" gauge Surrey Border & Camberley Railway was one of the most ambitious miniature railways ever constructed. Opened in 1938, it ran between Farnborough and Camberley on the Hampshire/Surrey border, and was operated by a fleet of steam locomotives, most built by HCS Bullock. Sadly the railway closed on the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939 and, heavily in debt, it never reopened."
The five locomotives in action over the weekend include:
    - 0-6-0 No.3007 'Firefly' (Visiting from the Kerr's Miniature Railway in Scotland, she was originally built as a Pannier Tank, but later re-built to a tender locomotive.)
    - 4-6-2 1001 'The Monarch'
    - 4-6-2 1002 'The Empress'
    - 4-6-2 2005 'Silver Jubilee'
    - 4-6-2 2006 'Edward VIII'
During my visit I meet up with James (NwsNoaaChaser) and Dan (SatNavDan) and suggest you go and take a look at their videos as well.
Filmed on a Panasonic HDC-HS900 with a Panasonic VW-VM2SE microphone.
    Enjoy.

Eastleigh Lakeside Railway has the Best Small Scale SG Type locomotives I have Seen Running in the UK. They are Lovely Little Engines and in My Opinion they are True Miniature Locomotives. RHDR is True Narrow Gauge in my Opinion as Locomotives and Carriages are Scale wise Much Larger. Nice Video of a Lovely Railway.

Well filmed Kris. Lets hear it for the little guys!! Liked that at the end with everyone posing by the loco's. And the three "western" styled loco's very smart. Looks like you quite a day there Kris. Pleasure watching. All the best...Tim.

They're interesting little engines, aren't they. Like King/Princess Royal hybrids.

All very well if all special heritage transport events were properly publicised - BUT VERY FEW ARE. The terrible lack of publicity and info is fife all over and endemic of the Useless UK. So when will this interesting Recreation of the S B AND CAMBERLY railway be put on again, as it should rightly be as a goodwill gesture to make up for the Big lack of info in Autumn 2013 and for wrongly causing many people to miss out through the bad lack of publicity.
