I like the zip tie idea. I made a rod and tapped a thread to screw on to the top of the rod. Your way is way easier...
BTW you can buy thin flat bicycle cone spanners relatively cheaply with 12/13/14/17 sizes that will fit the upper nuts without interfering with each other.

Mixing spring rates puts a differential side load on the forks , it’s much better to use the same rate springs on both sides . Although it’s more expensive.

The bike comes stock with only one fork spring, adding a second spring won't hurt it

I went this route but its to harsh. Im 95kg and the preload spacer is at 30cm( cant be less) and combination of oem fork spring and dr650se fork spring is to harsh, even on large bumps at speed I cant use more then 13cm of fork travel..and thats only 60%. Rider sag is 5cm and should be 6.5-7cm. So I only recomend this option for full travel with bagage.

Cool. I guess it's almost as inexpensive though to use the Race Tech spring kit for the 300L. It comes with everything; washers, tube, spring, etc. Minus the gold valve kit of course. I just installed that spring kit yesterday and it works quite well; much better than stock. I used Belray 10 weight fork oil. Would that be a bit heavier than the stock Honda 10 weight? The front end is fairly fast on the rebound but it seems to track well and keeps the rubber on the dirt. I'm enjoying your series on this bike 🙂

Thanks for your videos, super helpful. Do you know the measures of the stock fork spring? I need the external and internal diameter, to create a spacer to add preload. Thanks!

Have you tried replacing the existing crf300l spring with the dr650 progressive spring as well? Wonder if that would work?

I plan to put add a stock dampener unit in the spring only leg like the YSS or Missani units. I want to have equal rate springs in both legs also. Do you know if any of the crf or cr 250 or 450 springs will fit and bring rate up near 1.04 to 1.10 kg/mm from the single stock spring ? Thanks

Hello, can you tell me the length of the spring and the length of the aluminum tube? thank you

spring is 550mm and spacer is 330mm..but 300mm works better for me at 95kg.

Do you have a link for the single suspension washer needed?

Try just 15w oil and overfill +10% - you’ll be surprised !! Did it on both mine running good for 2 years on 250l and 1 1/2 on 300 rally - I did my seals (just one Honda) at same time. Rider weight 80kg
