This Huckins Atlantic 44 brings together the classic design and build elements of a Huckins Yacht, but with all the modern materials and technology many have come to appreciate today. From the composite hull construction, modern engines, modern electronics and more, this makes it far easier to finance, insure, and maintain compared to other Huckins I have featured on this channel.
This particular example benefits from full engine rebuilds approximately 30 hours ago, with full documentation available. The engines are a pair of Yanmar 6LY2M-STE producing approximately 420hp each. This should give you a cruising speed around 25 knots, and a maximum speed just over 30 knots.

Huckins did an extraordinary job with this 44; it was a real pleasure to watch this video, Garnock. And typical of Huckins, this layout is the antithesis of the more common 'most cabins & heads per foot' layouts. We lived on boats from 20' to 42'. This roomy design, with lots of spacious spaces to 'sprawl' , is what would make this a wonderful liveaboard. On the flip side, the guest cabin is for the varnish keeper.

The owner's cabin reminds me of my uncle's hunting cabin and the bedroom we stayed in. The wicker and wood everywhere. That cabinet in the master looked like the ime we kept our long guns in and our pistols were kept in drawers next to the bed for quick access. Thieves and bears roamed around the area and sometimes thieves met up with bears and you had to decide to save them or let nature take its course and remove a criminal who just stole from you off the planet. Leaving comments for the algorithm. You can tell me what you would do. I might tell you what we did. Maybe.

@@GarnockReviews Mid to upper 200's I would think. Beautiful boat but 25 years old even with new engines and upgrades. Still a 2 cabin 1 head boat. I could be wrong. I love your reviews. If I ever find my perfect loop boat and need to sell it I will try to get you to do a video;-)

That aft platform really, ruins it for fishing. No real fisherman wants that platform. They will make you lose more fish than you land.
