    Mine made 457hp and 430 torque on a 90 degree day over the summer at 980 feet above sea level in TN with heads and upgraded fuel system it made 524hp and 480 torque on a dyno jet barbecued my clutch went with a stage 2 good for 645 torque drives like stock now running a 315/35zr20 in rear and 275/40zr20 up front on z/28 wheels, my build I went with the smith brothers bronze trunnion kit, 3 bolt double roller chain with 2 degrees advance with the ls6 timing chain damper and a high volume Melling oil pump in my book much needed for the higher lift cam and stiffer double valve springs running royal purple HPS zink oil. It is a bad ass N/A car for the street for sure love it drive it everywhere and get 14 mpg no matter how or where I drive it.

      You had well over 600hp and 600 torque in a 5th gen ss and got 14 miles a gallon even in the city?? Really???

    How much torque did it put down? Did you run the springs with the center springs out for break in period?

  • @mitchellmeyer4177
    @mitchellmeyer4177 Před 2 lety

    Did you run the original lifters in the car? I am running my stock lifters since I only have 50k miles and plan to put others in it in a while. Tuner doesn't think its necessary to rip apart the motor to replace them with new LS7 lifters (same as LS3 lifters anyway)

  • @isnowyazn
    @isnowyazn Před 16 dny

    Late reply, but did you have any clearance issues with the 2" LT headers? Did you remove the steering shaft coupler, to install the driver side headers?

    I see this is in Indiana from your license plate. I’m looking to do something similar to my car. Who did all the work and all that? Aiming for 500+ rwhp

    awesome! what fluids are required for a cam swap

    • @JeffLyle
      @JeffLyle Před 5 lety +1

      coolant is the only thing you need as long as you cap the transmission cooler so you don't loose transmission fluid when you disconnect the radiator.

    I have the same btr stage 3. Bucks a little in the start. Just have to feather the clutch. Ounce you get going. It’s fine. 13 as 1le. Haven’t had a problem. It pulls hard all the way through. Made 460 on a conservative dyno. I pushed 12.3 quarter mile. Car is a high 11 second car. But I’m not a good driver. Lol.

    Did u do trunion upgrade? Upgrade oil pump or stocks?

    • @padilla30481
      @padilla30481  Před 6 lety

      dfw roll racing the car only had 5000 miles when all the work was done so there wasn’t really any need for an oil pump upgrade, and the trunion upgrade is more for peace of mind

    • @Gmz_JP
      @Gmz_JP Před 6 lety +2

      Pure Performance thank you for the input im trying get a cam kit going but not sure what all i should do since the reviews are moxed on what is necessary and not, i want do a night fury or btr stg 4 cam port heads about it

    • @padilla30481
      @padilla30481  Před 6 lety

      dfw roll racing if you have over 50k miles I would do a pump for peace of mind. The trunion kit is optional, I just decided against it with a low mileage engine

    • @griffith00
      @griffith00 Před 6 lety +3

      Very reputable shops would advise you to upgrade to a Melling oil pump and upgrade rocker trunions.

    • @padilla30481
      @padilla30481  Před 6 lety +1

      griffith00 very reputable shops also get a dealer discount on those oil pumps and trunions, so not only do they make extra money on labor they also have a 30% markup on the parts they sell you.
      Like I said, mine had 5k miles on it when all the work was done, so it really wasn’t necessary.

    • @padilla30481
      @padilla30481  Před 7 lety

      ThoseCamaroDudes mines tuned with efi live, is it bucking at low rpm, like 55 mph in 6th

    • @leschar1
      @leschar1 Před 7 lety

      Pure Performance mine bucks under low throttle. When I push the clutch in to come to a stop it will drop to 400RPM's and bounce back up to idle

    • @padilla30481
      @padilla30481  Před 7 lety

      ThoseCamaroDudes mine does that too. Real low throttle it's not too happy, and it does that when I push the clutch in too, it never dies though. Have you tried pulling timing to mellow it out
