Carolina Shores is considered part of the Grand Strand. I lived here for 26 years and have never had a desire to play this one or a few others that are bad. Fortunately there's an abundance of great courses.
Its Carolina Shores, I'm writing this in April 2024 and its worse, they keep painting the greens with spray paint and no more than 10 or 12 play it each day, just living behind the 3rd green waiting on the funeral. If some old locals and their wives would stop coming over here this would die with some grace.
That course is a grinder course. It grinds you, your game and your equipment up. There are courses all over America like this one. The possibilities for this course are great, just needs new management and a good clean up. I saw a course on CZcams the other day that is going back old school with sand greens. I actually saw those over on Blackmore and Founders and I paid $75.00 green fees at both. At least they trying to take care of part of the problem. Your honesty is great though.
@@zanefoster9352 I’ve seen pictures and videos of sand greens, pretty sure I’d rather putt sand than what I experienced this day……It needs some work that’s for sure, it’ll be interesting to see if that happens or closing for more homes happens first Thank you & thanks for watching
@@ParkerPlaysGolflove the channel. Great videos, great content. From someone who comes down once a year these types of videos helps others make decisions on what is a good course and what is not. Keep of the great work.
Owners are probably waiting to sell the acreage for homes. appears they have given up on the course, Lot's of tracks have went the way of housing in MB They used to have 100+ courses and now its around 80 or so.
Not sure if you know this but that course has been majorly flooded several times from hurricanes and more than likely is reason it's having issues.Nobody is gonna put too much money into it with it being in a major flood plane. Its probably never recovered.Kinda sad because it's in a great area.
@@rayyou7032 Yeah I did not know that. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe the only thing keeping it open is some sort of zoning issues that won’t let houses go in

What a bummer how much it's been allowed to deteriorate. u young ppl are so picky. when i was a kid ,i played courses where you had to bring your own grass.if it wasent for crabgrass there would be no grass.times have changed and im glad, but we still had fun
i have played some cheap bad courses, but i have never seen greens be that bad. I played a place thet didnt even have a green, it was just the same type of grass as the fairway and the same length, they just cut a hole in the ground and stuck a flag in. granted it was $10 for 18. and i would say that was better than what this video showed.
Yes that does sound better. In my opinion they need to go sand greens and embrace that. Smooth it out before each putt & it certainly would roll better!
Wow, too bad. I lived in the Myrtle Beach area in the 1980s and I played CS then. It was really great. I liked it a lot.

they closed heather glen. i loved that course

Yeah, pretty much. Haha
Yea I played there March 2024. It’s pretty bad. It has potential to be an amazing course, but it’s very neglected.

It was the only place we could get a tee time and no not many cars. With some TLC it could be a great place.
