Saw this live at rehearsals and it took pretty much everyone by surprise in the audience. People were laughing and dancing so hard. I do not care if we get 0 points from the jury, this brings just pure joy

I don't know how "a good song" is defined, but for me, music has always been about how it makes me feel, and No rules! makes me happy, which is not an insignificant feat. Also, considering that Eurovision Song Contest is and always has been a television show, the visuals are a big part of the experience. I consider No rules an immersive piece of performance art, but also, a really catchy, nostalgic and fun song you can dance to, sing along (if you can), and feel happy about.
I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea, which is perfectly valid. In Finland, we tend to pick our ESC performances based on what we like, and if we're lucky, other countries like our song, too. If not, there's always next year. ❤
I actually liked the song and it´s message about being who you are already when I saw the video first time. But then live added so much layers, the whole birth story borrowing Kalevala is brilliant. But of course that´s hard to recognize if not familiar with Finnish mythology.
there ain't no legal issues. Windows 95 have no trademark anymore and official Microsoft windows is actually hypeing it at original video's comments :D

You might be disturbed by the staging, but Henri's vocals are actually quite difficult to achieve. The tempo of the song, the high notes, and moving at the same time...

That's what you need to do when you call yourself a singer: sing and move at the same time. 🙄
I don't think that's a difficult line to sing and he barely manages through - especially the falsetto was true itchie&scratchie level. No offense, but quite many shower singer would do that part better. But it's all about the show, not the music. That's our UMK nowadays.

@@Piia2023 Then I am even more amazed because that's still clearly a subpar falsetto: you hear that forced itchie tone mostly when you have untrained people or shower singers like yours truly. I don't really care that much what we send to Eurovision but if someone calls that a good vocal performance.. well it is always beneficial to see things in a positive light I guess.

in terms of the staging and Henri's outfit if I understood right it's to do with Finland's mythology that humans were born out of a egg etc, in terms of papers it probably is like the rules or regulations and the woman was there to tell him to follow the rules but he throws them away. the illusion is there to make people wonder is he actually wearing anything, when yes he obviously is wearing like underwear but its super entertaining. The song is super catchy, the vocals are good. The performance is very iconic. the sparks will just add up to the hype and I can already tell people will love this performance.
And just to add the whole stage included denim because it's Windows95man's trademark, it's something he always wears. No he isn't a singer which is fairly obvious, but I think the whole 90s vibe is really fun. If this will win, I think instead of being negative about it maybe once we should celebrate for winning those juries overall, then next year who knows maybe a ballad will win maybe something else. Even if it doesn't win then it'll still be worth celebrating, yeah I thought it was a joke entry in the start but it's just so entertaining and chaotic it makes it seem that way, but I think the camera angle is absolutely brilliant and the pants falling from the sky, legendary and hilarious. Maybe a bit over the top but who doesn't love an extra performance.
You really get it. Just small correction that it´s not humans born from egg, but the whole world. This is the bit from Kalevala this is borrowing: The Earth is created from the shards of the egg of a goldeneye and the first man, Väinämöinen, is born to the goddess Ilmatar. Väinämöinen brings trees and life to the barren world.

And yes this is really silly but if juries won't let the people vote who they want to win then, they'll just have to endure this performance when it happens in Mälmö.

I rarely laugh out loud watching even a comedy show. This had me rolling, it's so stupid in such lovable way. I didn't expect to be voting for this when the final started, in fact I didn't want this to win because I knew people would compare this (unjustly) to Käärijä, but that's what happened, had to vite for it 🤷♂ It was the best performance of the night by a clear margin.

The egg is from Finnish mythology (Kalevala). The world was born out of an egg (a type of duck). Henri obviously is the bird.

The name has already been approved, as there is no longer trade mark on it, but W95M has not decided yet whether they will participate due to the negativity they have received, partly just general trolling from the public, and partly the pressure on not taking part due to a certain country being allowed to participate in ESC. We will find out on Monday, I think. Other artists are also unsure about participating.

@tanjanikola9489 Well, the pressure he's faced has *only* been because of Israel, which is really stupid & childish - EBU has confirmed Israel WILL participate, so what an earth do these social media trolling pressurers hope to achieve?!? It's not helping anyone, just ruining things for everyone, TBH. I'm just really upset about this. But awaiting for the decision with trepidation... (Since Sara was my nr 1, but now I've grown to love this, too.)
@@florenna Let's see what happens. There have been also really brutal comments on the performance, as it does divide people. They were probably prepared for that, and the decision will most likely depend on whether they want all the backlash of participation in their lives. They would need to figure out how to communicate it, and that would apply to any artist who takes part. It also depends on what happens in Gaza in the next couple of weeks. I really like the song and the performance, so I hope they will find the courage to go (and that they will get the right support).

Just makes you smile and laugh right from the start! Gets involved from the beginning, gets moving and jumping. Wonderfully crazy, friendly irony in the performers and the words, which is seldom brought to Eurovision song contest performances. The voice/singing of the singers is intentional, thinking about the overall vibe. Catchy, fast rhythm, clear story, really positive presentation. A much-needed change from the semi-artistic fake contortions that are usually seen, glamorous outfits that, however, do not hide anything, especially from female artists. Let's have a wonderful summer 2024 singing and dancing!🥰

Egg is an univeral symbol of birth. You saw the birth of an artist, who shouldn't be an artist, because he doesn't fit the music industry's norms and rules of an artist. The denim shorts made him popular. They were the blessing from the sky for him and now they gave him wings to fly as an artist. Windows95man as a character can be without shorts, but probably not naked. He's more like a cartoon character when it comes to clothes and nudity. He doesn't even have underwear. He probably doesn't even have genitals.
I feel like if they perform in Sweden for Eurovision ,They will probably have to cover up because unfortunately there are rules. 😅😂😂😂😂

Performance aside (which is great), this *is* actually a better song than e.g. Estonia's similarly humorous entry with equally fun staging... So I'm not sure why people are saying Estonia is better, but then that's Eurovision fandom, not general public ;)
I love that Finland is back with another crazy and silly song. Obviously its not as good as Cha Cha Cha but Im hoping it will do well. Finland is best when its just insane and silly. When they do "normal" songs they dont do that well

Eurovision almost never is about the best song - take last year as an example. The song was very middling but the performance and staging were excellent - thus it won.
