Bengaluru To Mumbai In 1 Tank Of Petrol In The Tata Altroz DCA || Safest Hatchback Also Efficient?

  • We threw a challenge to India's safest hatchback - could this one take us from Bengaluru to Mumbai in just one tank of fuel? Remember, this distance is almost 1000km and this is a petrol hatchback. That said, the 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission ensures the engine spins at lower revs at highway speeds. This did help us a lot in the mileage run - plus this was a non-stop drive that turned out to be much quicker than the fastest train between these two cities!

    I have done multiple single tank Bangalore Mumbai trips in my TDI Vento. This since 2012. Still running as efficient as ever. It helps that the Vento has a large fuel tank. But amazing to see this efficiency from a petrol car and that too from an Indian manufacturer. Altroz is up for consideration in my next purchase of a city car.

    60 kmph in those Highways is insane, also with a lite foot driviing in 60 to 70 kmph would give better mileage. But please make a video if you drive normally keeping the speeds between 80 to 90, that's the common speeds which many of us maintain on open stretches, that would be considered true real time mileage.

  • @parth5049
    @parth5049 Před 2 měsíci

    I saw this video before buying Altroz DCA XZ model in March 2024. The mileage I get in city is around 12-15 kmpl, sometimes lower than 10 kmpl also. The mileage on highway is between 16-20 kmpl. On highways you cannot drive at 60 km because realistically you need to reach your destination on time or as early as possible. If you drive Altroz above 90 between the range of 90-110 kmph, the mileage starts dropping. The highways in Gujarat are such that even public transport buses are driving at 90-100 kmph so certainly you want your car to be driven at such speeds. Also when you make a halt for stretching legs, have some tea and then you start the car, you see the average would have dropped by 2 kmpl in the meter!! That was surprisingly shocking for me. I believe this video should be captured more realistically, driving at a reasonable speeds of 90-100, taking a short break every 150-200 kms, AC in the auto mode, that would have given some realistic mileage.

  • @adityavisu
    @adityavisu Před 2 lety +44

    Well if the diversions and traffic blocks were not there, Altroz would easily reach Mumbai. But still 26.2 KM/L is good almost diesel levels of economy.

  • @AniketPawar096

    we want more mileage runs like this, some conditions are responsible for mileage improvement, 1. Max 2 peoples in the car, and their luggage, 2. car is cruising below 70-80 kmph, 3. AC is off most of time I guess. 4. wide stretchy road helps to improve mileage. now, please make a mileage run with Baleno manual petrol. It will break all records of mileage tests.

The engineers might have made it that way to have sufficient petrol remaining in tank and never left stranded, which is why it showed petrol empty a lot earlier and still managed to go so much distance. It's 3 cylinder engine.
      Tata does not produce 4 cylinder petrol car.

    Is this mileage true ? 🙄 I recently bought Altroz XT Dca it's been a week. I travelled from kurnool to Bangalore which is around 450 kms. I got the max mileage of 16.5 on highway with speed of 80-95 With AC on 1. I'm not able to believe altroz DCA gives this mileage. Maybe my car is new after 1st service will i get this much mileage?? Anybody please clarify ??

      Yes the 1.2 engine gives best performance after 3000km on the ODO. Restrict your speed to 80kmph , AC at 24 deg and use cruise control as much as possible.

      @@sudhismart I would recommend if you want smooth driving in the city day to day life, becoz of the automatics in this car. It is very very smooth.

    Take that tincan fanboys. Still we would buy Tata for its build and performance.
    By the way it could've been more efficient with a little overinflated tires, manual transmission and maybe without cruise control.....with experience

      Hi J K
      Well the manual is a 5 speed and auto is 6 speed. So most probably in the 6th, engine is spinning at may be lower revs than the 5th :-)
      As for tyres, we wanted to stick to manufacture recommended levels

    I hope the management at MSIL is watching this video. Fuel economy can also be provided by a 5 star ncap rated vehicle, so MSIL management need stop selling those tin boxes.

    Setting cruise control to 65-70 on highways is not the ideal way to test the milage. You should have atleast tested it at 80kmph which is the speed limit on most highways.
    This video does not show true values and is more like a controlled lab test. Won't help a buyer who is seriously considering to buy Altroz DCA.
