- Struggling with #loneliness and #mentalhealth issues, at 15, Mikayla Raines made friends with a gray #fox - a rescue animal her mom was carrying for. 12 years later, she runs a non-profit Fox Rescue organization, helping save #animals from fur farms and abusive backgrounds and providing them safe homes and plenty of room for fun and mischief.

Makayla, you’re far from weird and I’m sorry to hear you struggled with loneliness as a child. Whoever didn’t want to be you friend, it was their loss. You have heart of gold and were put here to serve a higher purpose in this world.
She's really the foxy fox goddess!🤩 Beat human beings sadly are misunderstood in so many ways and someway outcasts and especially young age is rough, but there's perfect example, she's blooming and tough! ✌️ 💕 &Respect!!!!

Definitely. My original cut actually expanded a bit more on the topic of fur farms, but the story had to be cut down.
My ultimate prayer and hope is one day ALL fur farms will be destroyed and cease to exist completely. This all starts with animal lovers like Mikayla and all of us to continue to spread the word about this horrible current predicament and do our best to get it stopped.

I found SaveAFox CZcams channel during the Pandemic. It is pure seratonin on demand, absolutely wonderful anytime your faith in humanity needs a boost.
So cute to hear Finnegan at the end! His laugh makes me smile EVERY time!! Love learning more about Mikayla. Did not know she was diagnosed on the spectrum. I have a son on the spectrum and he connects with animals far better than with people too. Keep up the incredible work! You're where you're meant to be! ♥️

Great job on this mini-doc. I've been a supporter of SAF for years. Mikayla and the crew are just great human beings and work hard for this. Oh and the sound of Finnegan laughing at the end was a bonus.
Absolutely one of my favorite channels on CZcams. Mikayla and crew are just amazing and they always make me smile. It says a lot that in this video, I knew every fox, cat and dog by name.
I did'nt have a lot of friends either I was extremely shy did'nt know how to talk to people I didn't know how to engage in conversation when I was with people and still don't Mikala you have a heart of gold

Thank you, Mikayla. About 2 years ago I viewed snippets of videos of the Rescue and I thought, what in the Sam Hill is going on here!?! I only saw bits of you and a fox on a lawn.....after a while I checked out what was going on and I learned you are on Minnesota (yay!), You have hills, and big rocks and trees - and hammocks and big tunnels, climbing structures, home-made ponds, and kitty cats that the foxes enjoy. That the foxes are rescues from fur farms and other damaging places or situations. That the foxes have tailored large enclosures individually tailored to their needs.....and there is so much more.
But most of all, you have excellent medical care for each of them, organize yard and play time that keeps all happy and safe -- and you love them to bits (which deep affection is reciprocated by each in her or his own way). Also you get lots of snow, beautiful fall colors which go with the red foxes' for and the pumpkins some love to take giant chomps out of. 😀 You have some play in your home (and pee, but whatcha gonna do?!) rest on your bed, and come up to the window for treats like at some 1960's ice cream stand window. Yay! You care for minks and for other wonderful animals and have a desert fox "pet", Fawzi, of your own who is such crazy fun. What you have given to people who come to your site is deep relaxation and amusement. Former military folks have said the site gives great relief from PTSD and other injuries.
There is so much more that could be said, but this film gives an account of the beginning that makes it all make sense. Thank you and all the people that make this happen. God bless you and all the fabulous foxes and other animals that are with you. ✨✨✨

I'm not a religious person in the least, and I know it's much more likely that life is just a series of random happenings, and you end up where you end up in the universe purely based on random chance. With all that being said, it's still a nice thought to think that just maybe God sent that little gray fox to start Mikayla on her life's mission.

I really tried! He's nowhere near as trustworthy towards strangers as he is to Mikayla! Even with her around, he refused to come out from hiding for most of the day! sorrrriiee!

This world would be such a better place if more were like Mikayla and her husband Ethan. Thank you SAF for doing everything you do.
