    It sounds great on all these videos. I’m anxious to play one.

    I have a KLOS hybrid guitar (still a wood fretboard & bridge). It is my guitar that I take in my camper to renaissance festivals etc. It stays in tune even after being left in a warm camper, sounds good & sounds pretty good plugged in as well. I would record with one of my traditional guitars, but for travel you can’t beat this.

    It's very interesting. Via CZcams it has a tremendous chop to it. I look forward to trying one.

    I got in early on the preorder and currently I'm waiting on mine. I'm a weekend warrior and play in public two to three times a month. I currently have a Rigel CT100 that I love, but after 21 years I'm starting to worry about the constant abuse I put it through doing shows/rehearsals/travelling. I've been looking for an obtainable carbon fiber mandolin for years, and really wished I could find one of the Peter Mix ones available. Regarding the tone I do listen to it differently than others because when I play I have to compete with two electric guitars more times than not. The slightly darker tone of this mandolin sounds ( to me at least) that it will amplify really well. Not only through a DI but through a guitar amp as well. I use both in my set up. My current rig is to the mandolin into a Baggs Session DI and then output to the board, and a guitar amp on stage. Many times only the amp gets a microphone and in the context of the full band that actually works really well. My hope is that the Klos will perform extremely well with this kind of setup, with the bonus and benefits of it being an extremely durable instrument. Thanks for this extremely informative review. Can't wait to get mine!

    Klōs, but no cigar...? 53rd view... LIKE pending. It's bright, almost 'brittle', compared to a bit warmer wood mando - but not in a too-bad way. Looks clean.
    Your mileage may vary.

    A great instrument for the gigging musician, esp if plugged in - all the slight nuances in tone compared to a wooden instrument are irrelevant, and the durability and indifference to humidity and humidity become a BIG advantage. If I was touring, esp in an act with drums, I would buy this in a heartbeat. Price is fair too, all things considered

    I know this video is for the Klos carbon fiber mando…
    But it got me thinking that Furch needs to make the Little Jeremy travel mando that folds up and fits in your front pocket!!

    Seems ironic to get a carbon fiber case for this Klōs mandolin. I would think it would suffice to simply stick a handle on it somewhere!

    Interesting that the guy who's not the one holding gave consistently slightly lower marks for the ratings lol love the review though just thought i'd slip in that one little tidbit. i'm looking for a backcountry mandolin with ultra durability.

    I wonder what one would do if they wanted to add a second strap button, which would normally be done at the neck heel... this mando doesn't seem to have a neck heel. And even if it did, could a hole be drilled and then a screw driven into the graphite?

      @Richmoose11 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Klos has an option for the heel strap button when you order one!

    Have you tried different strings with it yet? I'm interested on what that does to the sound. My old Mix CF mando used to sound a lot better with monel strings than Phosphor Bronze .

    • @Richmoose11
      @Richmoose11 Před 2 měsíci

      I'm going to string mine up with the string joy foxwood strings, which I'm hoping will tighten up the chop a little.
