I just realized, this anime is made by WIT STUDIO, so that scene where she broke through the classroom door is supposed to reference collosal titan breaking down wall XD

Its not a reference she does that in the manga although the major difference is that in the manga she quickly breaks through its not very dramatic and exaggerated compared to the anime

The fact there are always at least 2 deer witnesses for the coming of the incarnation of the deer jesus (nokotan) is hilarious. The fact she has wisdom beyond her years (antlers) and seems to have literally descended from heaven on top of that is wild. Even more meta is the fact that horns on the head used to be a mistranslation of a divine aura (halo). Deer god.

I have two theories about what the heck Nokotan is because I love overthinking.
1. Is that she’s some lovecraftian deer god. The only supernatural aspects of the show, aside from 4th wall breaks, center only around her, and I think she’s able to mind control those in her vicinity (explaining the scene where all the classmates find nothing strange about her busting down a door), she’s just on Earth to mess around
2. Koshi has died and this is hell. Literally everything Nokotan does is designed to humiliate or inconvenience her.

You're actually very close with the 1st guess. Nokotan is a divine avatar of Japan's Nara Park deers and she has canon divine magic hence how she's able to do all sort of weird nonsense. A fun detail is that it's ONLY Nokotan able to do the weird physics breaking madness and it's hard to notice until this is eventually brought up: the other characters don't have reality-warping slapstick powers and are thus never the ones to perform those types of gags among a sea of weird gags.
The funniest part is that the true plot twist is that everyone in the setting except Koshi is just a weird idiot. Nokotan has no mind control powers, everyone is just a moron except Koshi so in a weird way this is kind of her own personal hell by virtue of being the only sane person in a town full of insane people and her mental stability is slowly grinded apart.
There isn't really a theory. Its like trying to say SNL has a theory. It's just being comical and kinda dumb. Thats all it is.
I had thought since she targeted miss deliquent, maybe there was a reason like miss D helped her or someone she knows in the past so she enrolled to be close to her.
But HEY that's just a theory. A FILM THEORY

I can't help but notice that the pair of deers that keep appearing throughout the episode are a male and female deer, and they seemed pretty upset when Nokotan was bleeding out...

Everyone talking about the "You Deer" in the opening. But I appreciate the "free fall from sky" sequence more. The joke was that in other anime they show characters free falling from sky to incite excitement from the audience. This anime switched it and make fun of it. Lol

@@CrimsonGold-pq8xy So like my actual dream where it was a zombie apocalypse, but with giant crabs instead of zombies and we were all on an armored train that could go sideways on cliffs as giant crabs threw down rocks and the train cars could then split into armored buses to race down the road against giant super fast crabs.

I myself just loosely referred to as Shikanoko "cursing" Torako. (It's not an actual 'curse' but at least it fits.)
Fun fact: the leads, Nokotan and Torako, share VAs with... Kana Arima and Hatsune Miku respectively! They absolutely sell the chaos and I haven't seen a show this 100% unhinged since Asobi Asobase.
Also Koshi shares the same VA as Ymir from aot
I feel like people who watched random/chaotic series (like SpongeBob, Gumball, heck maybe even SkibidiToilet) will rarely, or NEVER question the logic and physics of this anime cuz they're used to it, and will just instead laugh along with it

I'd say that two episodes of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo or Xavier: Renegade Angel would kill about 67% of the anime fans making reaction videos.

The funniest part is that there's eventually a logical canon explanation for all the weird logic and physics breaking in the manga. And as the ultimate punchline, none of the characters care.

WIT STUDIO really dropped Attack on Titan to produce this masterpiece
This anime feels like a revival of the wacky anime comedy, especially getting some, and I recommend this series for anyone who like this one, Hare+Guu (the anime goes three seasons, but the manga goes on longer). In Hare+Guu the boy Hare lives with his mother in a jungle village *it is modern times and the opening scene hints at some more serious stuff in the plot for later*, but the comedy side here, its a small village and while being sent out to pick bananas by his mother Hare is attacked by an eldritch horror, only to wake up like nothing happened and find his way home where his mother has found a mysterious girl with cartoon powers. I won't spoil much but...the girl is obviously the eldritch horror, and is either trying to figure out humans or is messing with people for fun, but clearly everyone is going crazy around here and Hare is trying to hold onto his sanity (doesn't always succeed) and even forgets what Guu is at times. Oh and as a selling point also Guu is basically a humanoid version of Kirby with a Wackyland dimension inside her body (all episode 1 stuff). This anime is also why I am suspecting Nokotan of being some kind of forest god.
Watched this on Crunchyroll when it dropped, watched the reaction on patreon, leaving my like and comment because i am invested in this show after one episode and i want more!
My beagle is similar. She barks at anything she doesn't understand & will even bark at dark spots with nothing in 'em sometimes because she doesn't see well in darkness but she'll never chase or fight & the moment anything scary actually happens, she hides under a bed. She once growled at a broken air conditioner on the side of the street during a walk before very slowly approaching it, sniffing it, & then immediately acting like nothing happened.
