Export particles from Houdini to Maya using Alembic and Arnold ONLY

  • Kind of part 3 on my tutorial "Export particles from Houdini to Maya using Alembic". Many problem with bifrost reported in previous comments so here is an other method using ONLY alembic, Maya and Arnold.

      @@TomFX and radiusPP???
      My ".abc particles with standin" do not have the radiusPP or point_size property...
      Is it possible to add this property to the particle? How?

      @@ACES-BRAZIL in Houdini try to rename your « pscale » attr to « width » before exporting. Arnold use width for point and curve.

    What method did you use to make 2 different colors?

      I used an attribut transfert from geo surface to grains.

      @@TomFX great would be awesome if you showed that especially how to even add the different color on the bottom does that also get transferred from the ground texture to the grains or you do something else for that
