A Sector Run is a segmented speedrun where players divide the track in various parts, drive them individually as fast as possible, and then put the footage together to create a single perfect run
We begun this project on my nearly 10 years old trial track Oachkatzlschwoafs on ICE after kamil finally pulled off an insane CP1 shortcut, that was attempted by many during the years, but succeeded by none
We decided to keep the general progression of the track intact, so we ignored any possible alternative route that required taking CheckPoints in a different order than the intended one
After one month of hunting, finding tricks, cuts, strategies, and having a good time on Discord, the video is finally ready for you to watch :)
2011 igntuL: I guess a perfect run is about 15 minutes. Seriously though, I expect a first run to take about a week with breaks, or less if you are a good driver.

Methods:
On every sector except for CP17 we recreated the outcome of the previous part by driving
We tried to have the speeds and the trajectories as matching as possible to make the merges between the recordings look clean
We achieved this by racing against our ghost replays, or writing down the speed number and building a set-up with blocks that gave us the correct state at the chosen merging point
CP17 was done with the help of an external program that saves your car's position and momentum with a hotkey, and allows you to respawn in your previous state
It's essentially the same principle as every other "sector change", except that the trick used in that situation didn't allow us to recreate the state of the previous sector by normal driving, for obvious reasons, so we had to resort to the Save State
This was the only instance an external program was used in the Run

*Every part* of the Run was driven by humans, with human inputs (specifically on keyboards)
*Not a single second* of it was made by programming the inputs beforehand, or letting a "robot" drive it
Therefore, referring to this as a "TAS" run is wrong

I can only give this a standing ovation. This is, by far, the sickest (albeit hypothetical) run I've ever seen in Trackmania. The ingenuity of the tricks, the precision and driving finesse required to pull it of, the IQ-level of some of these cuts, everything is just absolutely nutty... This shows that in theory the skill cap in this game is almost infinitely high.

I have to say, this sector run was one of the coolest and most fun projects I've ever had the pleasure to take part in. Everyone involved did their absolute best to make this sector run the best it could be, and I couldn't be more happy with the result. Hope you enjoy the run :D

fucking awesome this project was gonna live or die by the dedication of the hunters. and o boi its not just living its shining brighter than the sun. this makes me so excited for what else is gonna come in the future. you guys did an awesome job (also my jaw dropped at the last 30s of the run xd)

Man this is so sick, everything about the run, the strats, the cuts, the precision, the speed and the dedication needed to pull this off. But what I appreciate even more is that in TM people come and pay their respect if others do good, there's no hatred or trash talk, the majority are good sportsmen and that's something you find so rarely among others games.. I always remember last tech wc finals between pac, carl, kappa and tween:
hearts were broken after an insane match and yet they come together on stage before the interview and congratulate each other and talk instead of being all negative. I dont have the patience to grind like these drivers do, but i sure am amazed every time I see it and the community never seizes do find new things to impress with.

Ive never seen a TM vid that actually had my mouth wide open for the entirety of it, this hypes me up to a level inconceivably high. This goes straight into my top TM videos of all time (this is Helion btw)
I still have so much respect for this project, this is basically a TAS run without it being TAS, the amount of effort this mustve took is unreal
Lately I've been getting a lot of Trackmania content on my recommended and, having played it myself when I was younger, I came back because of all the good memories from that game. Having discovered a lot of players (Wirtual and such) has led me here and seeing this brilliant run (although hypothetical) is truly mesmerizing. And, being portuguese myself and believing that it's not that popular of a game here, seeing that portuguese car at the end really made me happy to see someone representing Portugal in, what I can only imagine, was an incredible and challenging effort. You all deserve the highest praises and a big thank you to all of you for bringing us this masterpiece.
