What excites me most is that this is a passion project by Andrew Gower. He's not doing this for the money, he has that already. This will be a breath of fresh air after drowning in video games that are being designed to milk players of every penny possible.
Exactly!
I'm sure it will turn into milking
It will probably have micro transactions.. don't be fooled
well its going to have a paid membership
Looking forward to brighter shores!
I would pay TODAY to reserve my RuneScape name on the new game.
I'm excited for this! Just from this small glimpse of the game, It's giving me the same feeling as RS back in the day! This is going to be fun.
The squares everywhere on the floor and ground, reminds me of DnD.
loot chest with reroll is a thing. Especially the Vorkath boss loot system, you can bank the whole thing in 1 space. Tedious design: they need to fix that and more practical
looks like runescape but it makes you wonder, does Andrew regret selling up, why else would he try and re-create the runescape style.
Yeah that’s the vibe I was getting, but everyone’s got their cycle of life.
Glad he didn’t leave the game industry as a whole tho
It’s more likely he sold up because it was turning into something he no longer had a vision for. This might be his true vision and magnum opus :)
Ever since they did the first round of anti bot transaction defenses the game was never the same. I used to love just pking in the wilderness but it was never the same
If there is no microtransactions and you ONLY pay for membership i am all in
Ive always been into osrs and rs before eoc. I would love a more relaxed version where the xp come at a faster rate
Nice video, keep up the good work!
Thanks!
If it works under Linux, I'll give it an honest shot.
Awesome vid, mind hooking me up with that background song?

Things I'd love to return or be carried over from runescape (at least in spirit) :
- Text effects/colour, pretty much the runescape 1 and 2 era that's still in 3 that changes text to red, blue, etc... and made it wavy, scroll or flash.
- that feeling of socialising. Ofc times change but it would be nice to return to chatting to people while working.
- things in the world that are effected by skills. Some examples are shortcuts through agility or canoes through woodcutting.
- events. Pretty much those famous events where people appear or take you to new areas. (Maybe even add the negative events for a bit more challenge. Like the evil tree or giant fish which were annoying sure, but I actually had fun laughing it off with others.)
Things I'd love to see added in some way :
- A better social ui for things like guilds, party, shouting, etc...
- Maybe a Cosmetic/armour equipment tab (WAIT, before you say no; I'm not asking for the runescape 3 version. Goodness no! I'm talking about a way to cosmetics from say events on a tab and you can then swap the tab to whatever armour you want to wear. That way you can either wear what is needed for that skill (and risk losing it if you die) or wear some civillian clothes when you aren't doing something requireing armour.
- More silly stuff. Like the runescape rubber chicken that made noises; but more. Confetti cannons, googly eyes, whoopie cusions, etc.. Stuff that's just there for fun.
Can't think of any more atm. Personally I just want to see a social mmorpg return somehow. Where I can laugh, cry and fight with friends or strangers; or just chat with them in say a guild hall. ^^
Is anything known about being able to switch classes on the fly?
That’s a really good question. They haven’t said much about it yet, but now I’m curious as well🤔
Fucking sweet, pre-EoC 2012scape
i hear you call Andrew!
I remember when people thought he was working on Mech Scape.
Take a shot every time SEPH says Runescape :D
I noticed this as well haha. I just hit record and stop recording so my brain forgets I already said it. Also you have to take half a shot for everytime I say “Obviously” as well😂🍻

No you
Beat me to this comment lol
HYPE!
First impression looks like Albion online with an RS3 aesthetic. I enjoyed Albion, but disliked that the endgame of the game forced u into PvP and crafting+dungeoning was basically its main gimmick. Yes crafting will be its main thing, but hopefully plus different avenues as well like housing, thievery, etc.
Look like a crossbreed of sims and RuneScape
i hope we'll be able to trim armour in this game
Dont mind he's lessening the grind, doubt modern games can get away with that doing the same thing over and over. He'll need to catch up on releasing content tho when ppl finish the already released.
it looks alot like pre eoc rs
I'm sorry, did you say HAMMER MAGE!?
There has been loads of competition of skilling mmo they just all failed, the only current one is albion online but is so pvp centric that it's a bad example.
Idk i might it check it out
Sounds like he started an Ironman and made rs again
No GE that’s for sure lol
This is basically runescape classic HD 😂 this game will die out so fast. 14 years it took him to make this when he created runescape in his mums house. Madness. Runescape killer? Lmfao no chance in hell.
Nothing like a game that requires an entire team of niche archetypes to play it…said nobody ever. If you take away individual ability to play. It will die, quickly.
